Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have Any More Children With You – Chapter 16

17 The Plot Twist Strikes Again!

Leon sat at the table with Moon’s help.

Moon lifted her tiny hand, gently rubbing Leon’s nose and apologizing in the most adorable baby voice,

“Sorry, Daddy! Moon really didn’t mean it. I didn’t expect just a little push on the door would send you flying!”

Pouting slightly, her warm eyes sparkled as if she’d burst into tears if Leon didn’t forgive her.

“Does it still hurt, Daddy? Moon can blow on it, and it’ll feel better~”

As she spoke, Moon cupped Leon’s cheek and gently blew on his forehead.

The warm breath washed over him, and Leon’s heart melted instantly.

He completely ignored Roswiser’s sarcastic remarks; he was as tough as iron.

But when his little dragon girl was cuddling and apologizing, he almost doubted whether he had done something wrong.

Indeed, daughters are not just their fathers’ little cotton jackets; they’re like sugar-filled cannonballs that blast through their dads’ tough hearts.

Leon pulled Moon onto his lap, wiping away the warm tears from the corner of her eyes. “It’s alright, it’s alright! Don’t think too much about it. It’s Daddy’s fault for being so weak that I couldn’t even withstand a simple door panel. I promise I’ll get stronger, so I can handle it better next time!”

Moon giggled, wiping her eyes. “As long as Daddy isn’t hurt, it’s good!”

Leon chuckled and pinched her little nose. “Good! Now let’s forget this whole thing like it never happened—shoo~”

He made a flipping-through-pages gesture. “Forget it, okay?”

Moon squinted her eyes, smiling sweetly, “Okay~ Daddy is the best~”

Saying that, Moon wrapped her arms around Leon’s neck and planted a loud kiss on his cheek.

Leon was so taken aback by the sudden affection that he couldn’t help but overthink.

Why did it feel like his daughter was manipulating him…?

Five minutes ago, “Don’t touch me, you idiot;”

Five minutes later, “Daddy is the best, mwah~”

Ouch—

Dragons really are such incomprehensible creatures.

“Daddy, what are we doing this afternoon?”

That question jolted Leon back to attention. He grabbed a piece of paper from the table and pointed at the content. “This afternoon, Daddy will teach you how to write these three names. What do you think?”

Writing was a fresh and exciting concept for Moon.

She nodded enthusiastically. “Yes, please teach me, Daddy~”

“Didn’t Mom teach you before?” Leon asked casually while preparing the paper and pen.

“Mother said to wait until you woke up to teach me. Hehe~”

Darn it.

Mother Dragon, your name should be Lazy.

Moon dragged a little stool beside Leon.

Leon started by teaching her how to hold the pen.

Moon picked it up quickly, and after a few tries, she could hold it steady.

Then, Leon began teaching her to recognize the letters.

“The first name is Daddy’s, Leon Casmod. You can try writing it.”

“Oh, okay!”

Moon gripped the pen tightly with one hand and pressed down on the paper with the other, concentrating so hard that it seemed like she was applying all her effort with her mouth too.

Leon’s name was relatively easy to write, as its pronunciation came from “lion,” and the spelling wasn’t too far off either.

“Don’t press too hard; otherwise, you’ll poke through the paper. Take your time, don’t rush.”

“Mm-hmm.”

Moon had a good grasp, and after just a little guidance from Leon, she could scribble out “Leon Casmod” quite decently.

“Great job, Moon! Now we need to remember the order of the letters.” Leon said.

“Eh? There’s an order too? I thought it was enough just to write it.”

“Of course there’s an order! As they say, without rules, nothing goes round. Otherwise, writing wouldn’t be considered writing, it’d be drawing!”

Leon explained patiently, “With a set sequence, the letters Moon writes will look even better.”

“Okay! I got it, Daddy! I’ll practice hard!”

“Mm-hmm, keep going.”

Leon continued teaching her the order of letter strokes.

At first, Moon couldn’t resist writing whichever stroke was easier, but with Leon’s patient corrections and her natural talent, she quickly wrote “Leon Casmod” beautifully.

Leon was quite pleased.

Next up was practicing Roswiser’s name.

This one was slightly more challenging.

However, possibly due to the “Mother” buff, Moon practiced especially earnestly.

When practicing Leon’s name, she used three sheets of paper.

But for Roswiser’s name, Moon used a solid seven or eight pages.

Leon looked at the mountain of paper and sighed, “Do you really love writing your mom’s name that much…?”

“Uh…”

“You keep practicing; Daddy will just go to the bathroom for a second.”

“Oh, okay.”

Moon blinked her beautiful big eyes.

She was still young and didn’t quite understand what “jealousy” meant.

But she could feel that Daddy seemed a little too concerned about the difference in pages she practiced.

So while Leon was in the bathroom, she quietly picked up the pen and started rewriting Leon’s name.

In no time, she had cranked out a bunch more “Leon Casmod”s.

“One, two, three… eleven pages! Daddy, I wrote your name 11 times!”

When Leon returned, Moon happily waved eleven pages of practice in front of him.

Leon stood there in shock for a moment, his heart warming up.

Goodness.

This little cotton jacket really understood her old man so well!

She’s miles ahead of her stubborn mother!

Leon pulled Moon’s little face in for a nuzzle.

Moon’s chubby little cheeks squished together, but she was overjoyed.

It felt like this was the first time Daddy initiated such closeness with her.

“Alright, let’s practice the last name, which is your own: Moon Melkway.”

“Huh? That’s not Moon’s name!”

Leon blinked, “Do we have a different understanding of ‘Moon’…?”

“No, no! It’s the middle name! Moon has a middle name!”

Middle names were quite common among the imperial heirs; they typically contained the first letters of those who married into or were adopted by the royal family.

It represented respect from the royal family and acknowledged the person’s status.

Leon hadn’t expected this habit existed among the dragon race too.

“So what’s Moon’s middle name?”

“K.”

“K?”

“Yep! Moon K Melkway! K represents Daddy’s family name, Casmod.”

After a pause, Moon added seriously, “That’s what Mother said.”

Leon was a bit taken aback. “Your mom said that?”

“Uh-huh.”

That caught Leon completely off guard.

He thought he was just a lowly babysitter in this dragon’s nest.

The title of “father” was merely Moon’s one-sided wish; in Roswiser’s eyes, he was nothing at all.

But as it turned out, when Roswiser gave Moon her name, she thoughtfully followed the rules and used Leon’s surname’s initial as her middle name.

Leon didn’t know what that meant in the dragon realm.

But in human society, using one’s surname initial as a child’s middle name was a mark of recognition and acknowledgment of their place in the family.

Leon pursed his lips, somewhat confused by what the mother dragon was really thinking.

Maybe she just wanted to make this whole cozy family act even more convincing?

He shook his head to clear his mind and said,

“Alright, Daddy understands now. Let’s start practicing your name.”

“Uh-huh.”

When writing her own name, Moon was incredibly focused.

Her name was phonetically derived from “moon,” so it was quite easy to spell out.

Not everyone’s name needs to be as complicated and tongue-twisting as that of the mother dragon.

Leon worried that one day their dragon patterns would resonate, and during their passionate moments, he’d mistakenly call her by the wrong name.

“I’m done! Daddy, how does it look?”

Leon glanced at the paper.

Moon’s handwriting was neat and fluid; for a little kid, it was already impressive.

He patted Moon’s head with satisfaction. “Good job, Moon! You’ve learned the names of our whole family so quickly!”

“Our family?”

“Yeah, we’re a family.”

Moon paused for a moment before shaking her head. “No, no! If we’re a family, we’re missing one!”

At that, Leon’s heart skipped a beat, and his smile froze.

A family is missing one…?

Suddenly, he recalled that temperamental version of Moon he encountered at noon…

So, the truth only has one answer!

Leon couldn’t help but gulp.

“So it turns out I wasn’t just a one-hit wonder, but… a double whammy?!”
