20 Be Good and Listen
My dear wife.
If this family dinner happened every day, Leon would probably lose at least thirty years of his life.
Dinner should be the best time for family bonding, right?
But here, it has become Roswiser’s method of torturing Leon.
And now with Noia, the little ice dragon girl, joining in, Leon was facing a one versus two predicament.
This is completely unfair!
He was busy trying to figure out how to convince Moon to abandon this idea.
Just then, he heard Noia suddenly speak up.
“No way, Moon.”
Moon’s little face fell as she looked at her sister. “Why not?”
“I want to go to the Young Dragon Department at Saint His Academy!”
Saying that, Noia looked at Roswiser, seeking her opinion.
Roswiser was slightly surprised by her eldest daughter’s idea.
She knew that Noia was mature for her age and had a decent talent for magic.
However, the normal age for entering the Young Dragon Department was around four or five years old.
Noia was only one year and two months old, and in terms of height, she was nowhere near a dragon of that age.
Roswiser put down her kn*fe and fork and raised her gaze towards her eldest daughter, asking seriously,
“Why are you so eager to enroll?”
“Because I want to defeat more—”
“More of what?”
“Dragon Slayers.”
“Pfft—cough, cough—”
Leon had just taken a sip of water to steady his nerves when he heard his eldest daughter say she wanted to defeat him.
What a great filial daughter!
Noia looked at Leon disdainfully. “Mind your table manners.”
Oh wow, you’re really acting like a little adult.
Leon wiped his mouth with his scarf. “Dragon Slayers are very formidable, Dad is worried you’ll get hurt.”
“If I don’t get hurt, I can’t grow.”
Aha, now that’s a true little stubborn mule.
Just as Leon was about to say something, he heard Roswiser chime in.
“I think Noia’s idea is quite good. The sooner you learn skills, the sooner you can fight against Dragon Slayers. Plus, I think Dragon Slayers are just a bunch of idiots, really no big deal. They might even choke on a glass of water out of fear, don’t you think, Leon?”
“……”
“Good, then it seems your father doesn’t have any objections.”
Roswiser smiled. “Saint His Academy has entrance tests twice a year. The next one will be in a month. We need to prepare for the entrance in this month.”
“Yes, Mother.”
“Alright, we can discuss it in detail tomorrow. Let’s eat first.”
The two little ones lowered their heads to continue eating.
Roswiser glanced at the melancholic Leon and feigned concern, asking,
“Why aren’t you eating, Leon? Is my cooking not good?”
“It’s… good…”
“If it’s good, then eat more. You’ll need energy to… do other things.”
That “do other things” had quite the implication.
Leon felt a chill run down his spine.
Why does it feel like the phrase “getting the piglets fattened up for slaughter during the New Year” rings true here?
Leon looked down at the steak on his plate, unconsciously tightening his grip on his kn*fe and fork.
He could sense Roswiser’s contempt and disdain towards him.
In her eyes, he was no longer the valiant Dragon Slayer worthy of being her rival from two years ago.
Perhaps to Roswiser, the current Leon was just a babysitting tool, a plaything for her to vent her frustrations on.
She wanted the kids to have their father’s love, which is why she spared his life.
Leon once said that she could obliterate his dignity and pride, but she could never k*ll his spirit.
Was that just the grandiose talk of a Dragon Slayer stripped of his identity?
No…
It’s not like that.
He would never let Roswiser take any more from him.
Quietly, he smashed the steak on his plate into pieces.
The flickering flame of defiance inside him felt like it had been reignited.
One hour later.
The family dinner came to an end.
Noia took Moon back to their room, and Leon volunteered to stay behind to wash the dishes.
Roswiser said these things could be left to the maids.
But Leon insisted that doing the after-dinner chores together felt more like a family.
Roswiser didn’t argue, just tied her apron and headed to the kitchen to start washing the dishes.
The room was left with just her and Leon.
Clear water flowed from the faucet as Roswiser stood in front of the sink, meticulously scrubbing each dish.
“Hey, when are you going to help? Didn’t we say we’d wash them together? You—hiss…”
Before she could finish speaking, Roswiser suddenly felt a wave of heat wash over her chest.
Her body’s sensitive nerves were instantly activated.
She slightly pulled open her collar and discovered the dragon pattern on her chest was flickering with dark purple light.
“Leon… you—”
She wanted to question him about what he was up to.
But as soon as she turned around, the dragon pattern’s reaction intensified.
Roswiser’s legs gave way, and she nearly fell forward.
Luckily, she managed to grab the doorframe in time; otherwise, she would’ve taken a tumble right there.
However, even so, the dragon pattern’s reaction continued to invade her body and mind.
Her vision blurred, mouth dry, and the urge for “reproduction” became increasingly urgent.
She swallowed hard, and ultimately, she failed to resist the increasingly strong resonance of the dragon pattern, collapsing to the ground, gasping heavily.
Thud—thud—
Footsteps sounded before her.
Roswiser looked up.
It was Leon.
The cold moonlight poured in through the nearby window, casting its glow on Leon’s profile.
He had no expression, looking down at Roswiser with an air of authority.
But if one looked closely, they could see the beads of sweat on his forehead.
Clearly, he was also struggling against the resonance of the dragon pattern.
“What do you want… what do you want…” Roswiser stammered.
At that moment, two strong impulses clashed within her.
One was caution against this man before her, and the other was the primal desire to roll around with him.
She knew Leon felt the same way.
“Roswiser, two years ago in the dungeon, I told you something. I wonder if you remember.”
Leon slowly squatted down to her eye level.
He reached out, gently lifting Roswiser’s chin, looking into her flushed cheeks and hazy eyes.
“You should never be alone with the strongest Dragon Slayer who’s undergone rigorous training.”
Roswiser responded to his cold gaze with a smile.
“Ha… don’t force it, Leon. You want to use the resonance of the dragon pattern to weaken me and then escape. Nice thought, but let me tell you, that’s impossible.”
“The dragon pattern affects both of us the same way. Plus, you’ve just woken up from a two-year coma, your strength hasn’t fully recovered, so even if I were to weaken, you’d never manage to escape—”
Leon interrupted her, “Who said I wanted to escape?”
“What, what…”
He leaned in closer, wrapping his arms around the weakened Roswiser.
The silver tail hung down, and the queen leaned in the arms of this rogue, looking utterly bewildered.
“Leon, what are you doing? What’s going on?!”
“I have just woken up from a coma, and my strength and physical condition haven’t fully recovered. But… I’ve regained some strength these days. It’s enough.”
“Enough… for what? Leon, speak up, enough for what?”
Reaching the entrance, Leon placed Roswiser on the ground, her head facing the door, her tail facing him.
Then, he squatted down and grabbed the base of Roswiser’s tail.
“No, Leon—”
During the resonance of the dragon pattern, the dragon’s tail became an extremely sensitive part.
Just a light squeeze could impact the sensitive nerves of the other party significantly.
At that moment, Roswiser felt like a little cat caught by fate, helplessly lying on the ground.
“Let go of my tail… Leon…”
With her remaining consciousness, Roswiser said, “Otherwise, once tonight is over, I will definitely k*ll you, I swear…”
“That will be a problem for after tonight, Roswiser. Besides, I’m never afraid of d*ath, and you know that.”
Saying this, Leon tightened his grip.
A wave of tingling sensation shot through Roswiser’s body.
She slightly tilted her head back, desperately trying to control her body’s reaction.
“Dragonkin crave conquest, yearn for destruction, long for control.”
“You’re just like that, Roswiser.”
“Since the day I woke up, you’ve trampled my dignity and treated me like a tool for your amusement.”
“So tonight, shall we switch things up? What do you think?”
“Have you ever been conquered, controlled, Roswiser?”
“I think you haven’t. But you’ll soon find out what that feels like.”
Leon pressed his knee down on Roswiser’s tail and leaned in closer, one hand around her neck and the other brushing back her hair, then leaned in to whisper delicately by her hot cheek.
“Also, don’t make a sound, Your Majesty.”
“Don’t make a sound?”
“Right, because—”
Knock knock knock—
“Your Majesty, we’re here to clean the table. Is this a good time?”
The maids’ voices came from outside.
Roswiser’s pupils shook as she was about to call for help, but was yanked by Leon, forced to look up.
“If you scream, I won’t hesitate to open the door for them. At that time, they will see their usually high-and-mighty queen in this state. I don’t mind; how about you, Roswiser? Do you care?”
Roswiser gritted her teeth. “Leon… you b*stard!”
“Shh~ keep your voice down, don’t let them hear~”
“Your Majesty? Are you inside? Are you in trouble?” The maid asked again.
“Tell them you’re busy right now and it’s inconvenient, and they can come back tomorrow.”
Roswiser closed her eyes for a moment, then slowly opened them, adjusting her tone as she said,
“I’m fine; you can come back tomorrow.”
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
The footsteps faded away.
Leon smiled satisfactorily.
“Then, let’s begin, my dear… wife.”
