11 You Disturbed the Sister Complex
The day for the new semester at Saint His Academy has arrived.
Leon fulfilled his promise to Little Light by taking her to send Noia back to school.
With no “school bus” provided by Leviathan for pick-up, parents personally sent their children back to school, making the day quite lively.
But the liveliest had to be the Melkway family.
Typically, dragon families consist of two to three members.
After all, traditional dragon culture adheres to a “few but elite” breeding policy. Even in live births, most are only single children.
But the Melkway family showed up with a whopping five members.
It was practically two and a half families of hatchling dragons.
You could see the Silver Dragon Queen and her husband, who preferred to keep his tail hidden, holding hands with their eldest daughter, while each parent cradled two additional daughters.
If they had one more, Roswiser might end up wrapping the kids with her tail!
Other parents, upon witnessing this scene, couldn’t help but pause and gawk.
Their feelings were complicated.
Not out of jealousy or contempt, just pure astonishment.
“Did you hear? The Silver Dragon King is only a bit over 200 and has three kids… Can he handle it?”
“Do you think her husband is just a decoration? I’ve heard he can both take care of kids and fight—he’s a jack-of-all-trades!”
“Is that for real?”
“Totally. The Silver Dragon King is renowned among the younger generation of dragon kings, so her husband must be no slouch either.”
“Hmm… I should go discuss this with our Majesty, see if we ought to establish relations with the Silver Dragon Race or something.”
“……”
Leon caught wind of the chatter and leaned over to Roswiser, whispering, “I think we’ve become more infamous than last semester.”
Last semester, the couple joyously sprinkled “dog food” on the new student orientation stage. They also dominated the family sports day with their exaggerated team chemistry and strength, conquering all opponents and spectators alike.
Parents shared tales of the “Silver Dragon Special Forces”; meanwhile, classmates revered Noia K. Melkway as the one true god of the school year.
Leon thought that would be about it.
But after a vacation, their notoriety only seemed to have increased.
Well, that’s still a bunch of first-class business—they’re quite the understanding bunch, Leon thought to himself.
“Yep, I saw it coming,” Roswiser replied.
“Saw it coming?”
“Yep.”
Roswiser said, “Not long ago, Blay and his gang stirred up quite a racket, and it’s already spread throughout the dragon community. Your ten-second, six-dragon slaughter epic is bound to be well-known.”
“So that’s how it is…”
“Yeah. But best not to discuss internal dragon conflicts at Saint His Academy; it’s a strictly neutral organization.” Roswiser reminded.
Leon nodded, “Got it.”
The couple took their kids to the teaching building, heading straight for Noia’s class in the Young Dragon Department.
Starting this semester, Noia had been promoted to the big class in the Young Dragon Department. According to her homeroom teacher, Noia was the youngest but best-performing young dragon in decades.
When they reached the class door, the homeroom teacher was there greeting every parent.
Upon seeing Leon and company, the homeroom teacher came over enthusiastically.
“Long time no see, Melkway family!”
With a smile, she looked at Noia, crouched down, and pinched her little face, “Noia has grown quite a bit!”
Between the ages of three and ten is when young dragons grow the fastest.
Not just Noia, but even Moon had grown a lot.
Not long ago, Leon predicted by the end of this year, his eldest and second daughters would grow from little lolis to medium-sized lolis.
Ah, time flies. Old Dad sighed.
After a few casual chats with the homeroom teacher, Noia was ready to go back to class and prepare for her first day of the new semester.
Before leaving, Leon crouched down, placed his hands on his daughter’s shoulders, and cautioned,
“Study hard! Just because you’ve previewed what the teacher will teach at home doesn’t mean you can slack off. Keep solidifying your basics, so when you tackle more difficult magic later, it’ll be a breeze. Got it?”
Noia nodded obediently, “Got it, Dad.”
“Make sure to eat breakfast on time! You’re at that age where you’re growing, and you can’t skip a meal.”
“Mm-hmm.”
“Be in bed by ten at night; otherwise, you’ll get dark circles.”
“Okay.”
“And don’t get into fights with classmates.” Roswiser added from the side.
“Got it, Mom.”
Leon’s mind raced, and he leaned in close to Noia’s ear, lowering his voice,
“But if anyone bullies you first, feel free to fight back. Just don’t k*ll them. If they dare to involve parents, Dad’s got your back.”
Noia stifled a laugh and nodded, “Yes, Dad.”
Roswiser sighed helplessly, shaking her head as she listened in on the “loud conspiracy” between father and daughter.
Once the parents finished their instructions, it was time for the two little sisters.
Moon nudged closer to Noia, gently tugging at her sleeve, looking down with her little head and floppy bangs, saying sweetly, “Sister, I’m gonna miss you…”
Noia smiled, ruffled her little sister’s hair, “I’ll be back home this weekend. It’s not like I’m gone for ages. Just be a good girl, okay?”
“Will you miss me too?”
Your sister complex little sister dismissed your comfort, staring into your eyes with big watery ones.
Noia’s heart melted; she cupped Moon’s chubby face,
“I will! I’ll dream about you!”
“Yay~”
Getting Noia’s promise perked Moon up a little.
Then, it was Little Light’s turn.
The little pink fluff also snuggled up to Noia for a bit, calling her sister this and sister that.
Finally, Noia reminded, “Don’t always throw a punch at Dad at home; he gets weak spells intermittently.”
“Mm, I know, big sis.”
After exchanging farewells, Noia waved and dashed into the classroom.
Moon gazed longingly at Noia’s retreating back, knowing she wouldn’t see her sister for another five days.
In the world of children, time passes oh-so-slowly~ so~ slowly~.
Especially after a holiday when she suddenly couldn’t see Noia, little Moon struggled to cope.
For a sister complex kid, those five days were absolute torture.
“Little Sister, let’s go.”
Little Light took Moon’s hand gently, saying softly.
Moon snapped out of it and looked at her little pink fluff buddy.
After a moment, a smile emerged on her previously pouty and gloomy face.
Thankfully, she still had a little sister.
This happiness was something only children from big families could understand; not even the second-child families could relate!
Because in the Melkway household, there was no shortage of kids!
“Yup! Let’s go!”
The two little dragon girls held hands and followed Leon and Roswiser toward the exit.
But just a few steps out, Moon turned back to glance.
By then, Noia had reached the class entrance, where a slightly taller girl excitedly approached and linked arms with Noia.
Then, the two girls giggled and waltzed into the classroom.
And Moon absorbed every moment of that scene.
