19 Little Light
“Do you even understand how precious the Silver Dragon’s first support is?”
Saturday morning, Moon actually managed to wake up early—a rare event indeed.
The reason? Simply to “guard the tower.”
She couldn’t let Noia and Helena have some alone time while she was still in dreamland.
At the academy, Moon had no control (not like she could if she wanted to);
but in this house, every minute and every second, she had to keep a close watch on her sister.
There was no way that newcomer was stealing her sister away!
Just thinking of Noia cuddling up in the arms of that blue-haired big girl, laughing and chatting, made Moon feel queasy from head to toe.
To keep her sister’s love, she had to start by monopolizing her time!
Fueled with determination, Moon flung off the covers in one swift motion and leaped out of bed.
As luck would have it, she ran into Little Light, who was sleepily stumbling out of the bathroom.
Little pink-haired girl had a toothbrush stuck in her mouth, with toothpaste foam bubbling at the corners. Clearly, she’d just woken up as well.
But upon seeing Moon, Little Light was slightly surprised.
“Wow, you’re up this early, Second Sister? Usually, you’re still snoring two hours from now!”
“Two hours is a lifetime! Anything could happen, and I can’t let that happen!”
With that, Moon sped through her morning routine, slipped into her little dress and over-the-knee white socks, quickly combed her hair, and dashed for the door.
Little Light poked her head out of the bedroom. “Where are you off to, Second Sister?”
“Going to find Sister! Do you know where she went?” Moon called out while tying her shoes.
“She seems to have taken Helena to the back garden for a tour.”
Moon halted in her tracks. “Darn it… I’m late!”
With lightning speed, she finished lacing up her shoes, unlocked the door, and sprinted off to the garden.
Little Light blinked her pretty pink eyes, pondering,
“Hmm… A good day always starts with some entertainment. Wait for me, Second Sister!”
Twenty minutes later, the little dragon girls had gathered in the backyard of the Holy Temple.
Leon and Roswiser stood on the bedroom balcony, catching all of this with their eyes.
After a while, Leon abruptly spoke up.
“I think we should hold off on the third child for now.”
Roswiser shot him a glare, crossing her arms and staring straight ahead. “I wasn’t even planning on asking you for a third! What are you talking about?”
After a beat, seeing Leon not even flinch, she couldn’t help but ask,
“Then… why don’t you want a third?”
“Didn’t you just say you weren’t planning on asking for one? Why does it bother you now?”
“Can’t I just ask out of curiosity?” Roswiser said, puffing her chest out defiantly.
Leon chuckled and pointed to the girls playing in the garden,
“Look, when we only have three kids, we can easily split our attention among them without missing a beat in care.”
“But if we hit four? We’d be in over our heads.”
Leaning forward on the balcony railing, he sighed and continued,
“Honestly, I’m just not ready to be the father of four kids yet. What about you? Are you ready for that?”
Roswiser’s silver eyes fluttered as she mused a moment, then shook her head. “Not yet.”
Leon shrugged. “So, wife, let’s make sure we’re always careful after… you know, special time.”
Roswiser shot him a peeved look and flicked his rear with her tail. “Why don’t you just make sure to touch me less?”
“Oh come on, let’s get real here! Who’s the one initiating more often, huh?”
“You! Yes, you, you’re the one who goes for it more!”
And just like that, she was back to being unreasonable.
Leon rolled his eyes and decided to ignore her.
“Why so quiet? Can’t come up with a counterargument?” Roswiser teased, donning a smug expression.
In the past, she used to enjoy debating with Leon and proving her point;
but now that they were more familiar, she found it far more effective to just stir the pot.
It not only annoyed Leon but left him speechless.
Just as she was reveling in her minor victory, Leon said,
“You’re starting to sound more and more like my master’s wife.”
Roswiser blinked in confusion. “What… do you mean by that?”
“She talks to my master the same way—completely unabashed, cuddly when she wants to be, unreasonable when the mood strikes.”
Leon slowly turned to face Roswiser. “If you’re having trouble understanding, let me put it another way—you’re becoming a real wife—uh uh uh!”
Roswiser quickly covered his mouth before he could finish.
“If you keep babbling nonsense like that, I might just have to take on the duties of a real wife.”
“What’s that?”
“Domestic violence.”
“Puh-lease, I’m terrified.”
The couple continued their playful banter until Leon pointed toward the yard. “Hey, check it out! They’re about to start a game!”
Roswiser turned to see the girls in the garden.
The four girls stood up, and Moon brought over a blindfold from one of the maids.
“Let’s play blind man’s bluff!” Moon proposed.
“Sounds fun!”
Noia had no objections; she’d join Moon in whatever she wanted to play. After all, she was her own precious sister.
“Okay, sure!”
Little Light wouldn’t miss any chance for fun. Blind man’s bluff was a game Moon excelled at, and it’d be interesting to see how she “asserted her dominance” in this one.
“Sure, you guys lead the way!”
As the guest, Helena naturally agreed.
The girls settled who would be the ‘it’ first by playing rock-paper-scissors.
In the end, Noia lost, which meant she’d be ‘it’ for the first round.
Moon helped her sister put on the blindfold and then stepped aside.
Little Light and Helena also made sure to distance themselves.
“Ready or not? Here I come!”
Noia raised her arms and cautiously began to grope around.
Blind man’s bluff isn’t about skill; it’s about 90% listening skills and…
And 91% luck.
Yet, despite that, it remained a beloved game for children.
In this round, Noia was quite lucky; as she fumbled around, she was getting closer to Moon.
Moon watched as Noia drew near, her heart racing with excitement.
See that? Even with her eyes covered, sister can still sense me first!
Don’t underestimate the bond between me and sister!
As Noia closed in, Moon was grinning from ear to ear, ready for her sister’s embrace.
Come on, sis, don’t be shy! Grab me! Grab me!
Yet, just as Noia was about to catch Moon, she suddenly veered off to the side.
Little Moon stood wide-eyed, blinking her big, pretty eyes, internally shouting,
“Sis, I’m right here! Just take another step!”
Unfortunately, Noia didn’t have the kind of telepathic link that their parents seemed to share.
Instead, she continued turning and slowly moved toward Helena.
Seeing that, Moon began to panic.
If Noia kept going, she’d definitely end up hugging Helena!
No way.
No way, no way, no way.
That first hug today is absolutely mine!
Moon’s brain kicked into high gear, thinking up ways to keep her sister close!
Helena, noticing Noia inching toward her, thought it was only fair to follow the game’s rules, so she started to avoid Noia.
She took a few slow steps back, trying to stay silent on her feet.
But Noia kept slowly approaching.
After a few more steps back, Helena suddenly found her back pressed against a tree.
No escape.
And Noia was right in front of her.
Helena squinted and smiled, thinking, “I’m about to get caught!”
“Crack!—”
But just before Noia could grab Helena, a branch suddenly snapped beside her.
Noia’s ears perked up, and she quickly turned toward the sound, moving rapidly in its direction.
The one who stepped on the branch? None other than Moon herself.
In a twist of fate, Noia managed to successfully catch her sister, holding her tightly before the blindfold could come off.
“Sis! Seriously?! You were the first one caught? So annoying!”
She complained, but inside, she was overjoyed.
Noia removed the blindfold and affectionately pinched her sister’s nose. “Who just had to step on a twig, huh?”
“Um…”
Honestly, Moon had no clue where that twig had come from.
But who cares? If she got to hug her sister, she could break steel with her feet!
“You’re so amazing, Sis! Hehe~”
Moon snuggled into Noia’s embrace, her cheek pressed against her sister’s, her little tail swaying adorably.
Meanwhile, Little Light glanced down at the few twigs in her hand before stealthily hiding them behind her back.
“Second Sister, remember, there’s always someone watching over you from the shadows!”
