21 I’m Morning Training with Mom
In the early morning, Little Light stirred from her dreams, slowly coming to life.
She heard the faint rustling of pages being turned nearby.
Rubbing her eyes, her messy pink hair bouncing, she squinted toward the source of the sound.
Her second sister was sitting at the desk, scribbling away with her pen and surrounded by a mountain of books.
What caught Little Light’s attention even more was the scarf tied around her sister’s head, which had two big characters written on it:
Strive.
And a gigantic exclamation mark to top it off.
“Oh no, I woke up to find my sister studying hard. I must still be dreaming; time for round two!”
With that, she flopped back down, eyes closed.
Moments later, she sat up again, only to find Moon still diligently buried in her studies.
Little Light suddenly snapped into focus.
“When a slacker stops slacking, it means there’s bound to be… some fun to watch!”
She threw off her blanket, leaped out of bed in her adorable pink pajamas, wagging her little tail, and bounded over to her sister.
She peeked at the book Moon was flipping through—basic magic theory, but with a slightly more “academic” flair.
While regular magic books teach you how to actually use magic, the book Moon was reading was more about “tests”—you know, the kind that exists to torture students during magic exams.
Little Light scratched her head, asking, “Hey, sister, what’s up with the sudden motivation?”
Moon didn’t look up from her review book as she replied, “The new semester at Saint His Academy is starting in a month, and I need to sign up!”
“Wait? But the Young Dragon Department is meant for dragons over seven years old, and most applicants are that age.”
Little Light paused, then added thoughtfully, “Well, except for our big sister; she’s a freak.”
“If she could pass the test and stick with it, so can I!”
Moon pouted, continuing to scribble away, quickly solving a long essay question and moving on to the next one.
Over a year ago, Leon had introduced her to some of this magic theory, so now it wasn’t too difficult to grasp.
Seeing her sister studiously engaged, Little Light’s eyes widened slightly.
A laid-back person like Moon wouldn’t suddenly want to enroll in Saint His Academy for no reason!
There had to be something driving her—probably related to that girl called Helena.
Saint His Academy was situated in the heart of the Dragon Race territory, quite far from most tribes.
So students in attendance, whether in the Young Dragon Department or the Youth Dragon Department, lived on campus and could only head home on weekends and during holidays.
This meant that during the normal school year, Noia spent way more time with Helena at school than with Moon at home.
That’s why Moon was so eager to apply for the entrance test at Saint His Academy.
Once admitted, she could eagerly tag along behind Noia again.
“But just studying on your own will make passing the entrance test pretty hard, right?”
Little Light pointed out, “Big sister said she got Dad to tutor her.”
Moon paused in her scribbling, placing her pen down to turn and look at Little Light. “But what if Dad doesn’t have time?”
Little Light blinked, then grinned mischievously.
“How could a daughter slave NOT have time when his daughter asks him for homework help? Even if he’s stopping the apocalypse, you could waltz in and he’d hit pause for you!”
Moon burst out laughing at Little Light’s logic.
She put away her books and hopped down from her chair. “Then I’m off to find Dad!”
With several test prep books in hand, Moon dashed toward the door.
Seeing her sister transform from a slacker into an action hero, Little Light’s brain kicked into gear.
After a brief brainstorming session, she snatched a couple of books from the table, cradling them in her arms, and sprinted after her. “Wait for me, sister!”
Meanwhile, at the training grounds behind the Holy Temple…
Leon continued to assist Roswiser in trying to harness Primal Power.
The couple sat on the ground, facing each other.
Roswiser extended her hands, palms meeting, and a sparkling, translucent white dot of light shimmered in her palms.
“You’ve made a lot of progress since a few days ago!” Leon remarked, looking up at her. “Is it difficult?”
Roswiser shook her head. “Not so much anymore; I think I’m starting to figure it out.”
“Great, let’s take a break. We’ve been at it all morning.”
“Okay!”
Since Roswiser was busy working during the day, they only had mornings and evenings to squeeze in some practice with Primal Power.
After a short break, it was time to eat breakfast before sending the Queen off to court.
“Let me see your hands,” Leon said.
“What for?”
“To see if you’re hurt.”
“Oh.”
Roswiser obediently extended her hands.
Leon cradled her hands in his, feeling the coolness of the back of her hands and the smooth softness of her skin.
“Your Majesty, your hands are so tiny; let’s compare!”
Roswiser rolled her eyes at Leon’s not-so-subtle intentions, thinking, “Does he really think I wouldn’t see through that?”
How childish.
“Alright, let’s compare!”
Roswiser raised her palm up to him, matching it to Leon’s.
And the next moment, just as she suspected, Leon slipped his fingers between hers.
Their fingers interlaced, making it impossible to separate them.
“Your Majesty, your hands are so cold. Let me warm them up for you!” said the dragon-slaying hero, all serious.
Roswiser arched an eyebrow, smirking playfully. “Well, thank you very much for that.”
“No problem, Your Majesty! As your captive, it’s my duty.”
“Is it? Then my other hand is cold too; why don’t you warm that one up as well?”
“Of course, Your Majesty!”
Roswiser chuckled, lazily extending her other hand.
Just as Leon leaned in to take it, she suddenly grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled him right to her face.
Leon tilted his head slightly, his nose brushing against her delicate chin, the breath of the silver-haired beauty warming his cheek with a sweet fragrance.
“If you want to hold my hand, just say it, hubby~”
“If I say it, will you actually hold my hand?”
“Not a chance.”
“Tch! Whether you will or not doesn’t matter, cause now I’ve got you, and you can’t shake me off.”
As if a simple hand-holding could bind the illustrious Silver Dragon Queen!
If she really wanted to shake him off, she wouldn’t need to waste time flirting with dog man here.
Roswiser was willing to spend time playing the ‘couple’ game with Leon.
With less than ten minutes until breakfast, they gazed into each other’s eyes, their clasped hands feeling the warmth radiating from each other.
Their black and silver eyes locked in a deep gaze, filled with longing and desire.
In the next moment, they leaned in toward each other’s lips.
Well then, how about tasting each other before breakfast—
“Daddy! Mommy!”
“Uh—cough cough! Cough…”
Their hands, which were just snugly entwined, immediately flew apart.
The couple quickly recoiled, looking away and pretending to be nonchalant.
“Ah… Moon, Little Light, good morning!”
Leon rubbed his palms together, standing up. “What’s got you up so early today?”
“Second sister needs something from you!”
Little Light started saying more, but upon noticing their mom’s slightly flushed cheeks and an awkward expression on Dad’s face, she instead asked, “What were you two just doing?”
“N-Nothing…”
“Nothing? Then why are you red?”
“Uh, we were… um… working out! Yes, working out.”
Little Light nodded, letting out a long “Oh.”
“By the way, you just said Moon needs something from me?”
Leon slowly crouched down, taking Moon’s small hand and gently asking, “What’s on your mind, Moon?”
“Daddy, I want you to help me with my studies. I have to take the entrance test for Saint His Academy in a month,” Moon said, dead serious.
Leon’s eyes widened slightly in surprise.
He didn’t respond immediately but turned to look at Roswiser behind him.
Roswiser seemed surprised too, stepping forward to ask, “What made you suddenly want to go to school, Moon?”
“Because I want to spend more time with Sister.”
Roswiser raised an eyebrow. “Is that so… You really are pretty attached to Noia.”
“Can I, Mom? I promise I’ll study hard!”
Seeing their daughter’s earnest expression, the couple exchanged glances. Leon finally nodded.
“Sure, no problem. I’ll help you with your studies, but it’s going to be tough!”
“That’s fine, Dad! I’ll definitely hang in there!”
The little dragon daughter was bursting with confidence.
Leon believed his daughter could follow through.
“Hey, Dad…” Little Light tugged at Leon’s shirt sleeve.
“What is it, little Light?”
“I want to… try too.”
“…And what’s your reasoning?”
“To study hard, progress every day, and grow up to be a useful dragon to the Silver Dragon Race!”
Little Light pounded her chest, her eyes set with determination as if enlisting.
Leon looked at her skeptically, feeling her reason for wanting to enroll might need some re-evaluation.
Sweetheart, are you really not just wanting to sign up for school to have some fun?
