36 I Have Lost All Passion for You
(Absolutely Sure)
Half a month later, the new round of entrance exams for the Young Dragon Department at Saint His Academy was promptly held.
Coincidentally, it was a Monday, so we could conveniently send Noia back to school.
Upon arriving at the academy, the family parted ways at the entrance of the teaching building.
“Don’t be nervous during the exam. Believe in yourselves and trust your dad. You’ll definitely pass!”
As the eldest sister, Noia earnestly reminded her two little sisters before saying goodbye.
The little ones nodded vigorously, expressing their confidence about the test.
The school bell rang shortly, and although Noia still had a lot to say, she had to wrap it up hastily, waving goodbye as she dashed toward her classroom.
After bidding farewell to Noia, Leon and his wife took Moon and Little Light to the third floor, where the entrance exam registration was located.
However, as soon as they stepped into the teaching building, they were met by none other than Vice Principal Wilson.
“I heard from the dean’s office that your Melkway family would be registering for the new round of Young Dragon entrance exams, but I didn’t expect it to be true!”
Wilson’s eyes sparkled like a sailor who discovered a new continent.
Before the entrance exam registration, there would be a preliminary coordination to roughly determine the number of registered candidates, allowing the academy to arrange adequate staff.
Naturally, Leon and his family signed up for this preliminary coordination.
They thought it was just a simple cooperation with the academy.
Little did they know, Wilson the old B-dragon seemed to have some special interest in them, leading one to suspect he had told his underlings to report back to him the moment they saw the Melkway family registering.
He’s really going all out for his favorite pair!
After some brief pleasantries, Vice Principal Wilson rubbed his hands together and looked at the two little dragon ladies.
“So, who among you is entering this year?”
Moon stood on her tiptoes, raising her hand enthusiastically, “Grandpa Wilson, Little Light and I are both signing up!”
“W-What?!”
Smack!
Leon slapped himself in the face.
It’s over.
Too late!
“Miss Roswiser, Mr. Leon, is this true? Your two little princesses are both registering for this year’s Young Dragon Department?!”
Wilson’s eyes glittered even brighter.
He no longer looked like a sailor discovering a new continent but more like an astronaut discovering a new planet.
“Y-Yes, Vice Principal. The kids want to learn, and we can’t stop them,” Roswiser replied with a slightly helpless smile.
“Ha! — Ha! —”
After receiving confirmation from the parents, the old B-dragon suddenly clutched his chest, struggling to breathe.
Leon raised an eyebrow in surprise, “What’s happening? Is it asthma?”
“N-No, Mr. Leon. I’m just excited, very excited.”
“……It’s just registration. You don’t need to be this excited.”
The Vice Principal waved his hand and said seriously, “How can I not be? Your eldest daughter, Noia, passed the entrance exam at the youngest age with the highest score and has maintained first in her grade for two years. She will surely become a top-notch dragon warrior.”
“And as her sisters, these two little princesses must be equally outstanding.”
“You’re providing the academy with such excellent students; how can I not be excited?”
The Vice Principal looked at the two little ones with satisfaction and then shook Leon’s hand, “Mr. Leon, given your family’s outstanding performance in the last test, I can make an exception and allow you to enroll directly without taking the test!”
Upon hearing this, the couple hurriedly shook their heads, “Ah, no, no, Vice Principal! We’ll go through the regular procedures, yes.”
There were two reasons for rejecting the Vice Principal’s offer:
One, Leon, Roswiser, and their daughters would never rely on connections or backdoors.
Two, they needed to do a little “manipulating” during the test for their “plan.”
“It’s no problem at all, you two. The academy has enrollment exemptions every year; this isn’t something to be ashamed of,” the Vice Principal assured them.
“Thank you for your kindness, Vice Principal, but we really don’t need the shortcut. Moon and Little Light can pass the test on their own merits,” Roswiser insisted.
After a few rounds of refusal, the Vice Principal was finally worn down and sighed.
Noticing his reaction, the couple exchanged glances.
Looks like the old B-dragon is not pleased?
But that’s fine, they could use this to their advantage; their ‘plan’ might go even more smoothly with the Vice Principal in a funk.
However—
“Ah! Truly a model family of our academy! This spirit of integrity and hands-on involvement is something every dragon ought to learn from!”
Leon & Roswiser: …
You’re unbeatable, Old Deng.
Just keep being you; who can outlive you?
“Now, you both understand the process for the exam, right? Little princesses will go for the written test, and you two will join me on the fourth floor for the family interview,” the Vice Principal stated.
Leon nodded, “Yes, no problem.”
“Great! Someone will take you up to the fourth floor shortly. I’m looking forward to seeing your performance this year.”
After exchanging a few more pleasantries, the Vice Principal left.
The couple sighed in relief.
Just then, Leon felt someone tugging on his clothing.
Looking down, he found Moon.
“What’s wrong, Moon?” Leon squatted down.
“Dad, I’m a bit nervous.”
Although she had just insisted in front of her sister that she would definitely pass, being in the exam room made the young dragon a little anxious.
That’s a totally normal reaction; not being nervous would be weirder.
Leon smiled, pinching his daughter’s cheek, “Your sister just said to believe in yourself. You’re Noia’s sister; you can do it, no problem at all!”
Little Moon’s tuft of hair bounced as she hung her head slightly, biting her lower lip. After a brief yet intense brainstorm, she nodded vigorously,
“Okay, I’ll do my best, Dad.”
“Good job, Moon!”
As his words fell, a voice from the registration desk called out.
“Please, young dragons who registered for the entrance exam, gather on the third floor~”
“Go on, Moon, Little Light. Just perform normally. Don’t put too much pressure on yourselves.”
“Got it, Dad!”
The two little dragon girls held hands and headed for the third floor.
Leon stood up slowly and turned to Roswiser, “We should get ready for the interview. Is everything going according to plan?”
The Queen nodded, “Yes.”
The couple locked eyes and said in unison:
“‘Don’t d*e on Stage’ plan, activate!”
Two years ago, their eldest daughter Noia had successfully passed the Young Dragon entrance exam at the youngest age and with the highest score;
And they, coincidentally, had also scored the highest in the family interview.
They thought that would be the end, and they just had to wait for school to start.
But who knew, at the freshman welcoming ceremony, the great Vice Principal Wilson would declare them the model family of the academy and invite them up on stage to share insights and experiences about family management in front of hundreds of dragons.
But it didn’t stop there; as it was wrapping up, under the encouragement of the Vice Principal and a bunch of onlookers, the couple shared a kiss on stage, pushing the ceremony to yet another climax.
They also pushed themselves into an abyss of absolute social embarrassment.
Now, two years later, to avoid repeating the same blunder, they crafted this ‘Don’t d*e on Stage’ plan.
This time, they had three things to do during the interview:
Be low-key! Low-key! And keep it d*mn low-key!
“As long as we maintain an average demeanor during the interview and ensure the kids can pass the test, we’ll minimize our interview scores so we won’t be named this year’s model family. That way, we won’t have to give a speech on stage.”
“Understood. As for Moon and the others, just let them perform normally; adult plans shouldn’t affect the kids.”
“Mhm!”
“Do you have specific thoughts on what we should say in the interview?”
“I’ll just say I’ve lost all passion for you over these past two years.”
Leon paused, “That sounds too fake, Mother Dragon. How could you possibly not have passion for me?”
Roswiser poked his chest, “It’s for the sake of the plan.”
“Oh…so you still have passion for me, right?”
The Queen rolled her eyes in exasperation, “Whatever you say goes. I’m too lazy to argue with you.”
As the couple jested, they arrived at the door of the interview room.
They exchanged one last glance and then pushed the door open.
