Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have Any More Children With You – Chapter 40

41 What’s a Wedding Photo?

Leon raised his g*n and fired!

Each b*llet hit the balloons as if they were driving right into the boss’s heart.

Seriously, after running this stall for so long, he had never seen someone sh**t with such pinpoint accuracy!

The boss stared at Leon, resentment bubbling inside him like a boiling pot.

Meanwhile, another participant in this carnival of chaos had a completely different attitude.

To her, this man was focused and serious—even if he was a bit of a stubborn mule, it didn’t really matter.

With each pull of the trigger, a balloon popped spectacularly, and Leon would follow up with a confident, smug grin.

This guy could be a bit off his rocker most of the time, but when he decided to be serious, he radiated a special charm.

“Daddy is so cool! So super cool!” Moon cheered from the sidelines, throwing rainbow compliments at her dad.

Noia stood nearby, starry-eyed, watching Leon sh**t with laser-like focus.

See? Whether it was little Moon or the grand queen Roswiser, they all felt the same way!

But when Roswiser finally came back to reality, she found herself holding a giant stuffed bear, plush and snug.

Soft, warm, and oh-so-fuzzy.

Sure, in the dragons’ mind, bears were just a flavor of food not even fit for filling a stomach, but this toy version was… kinda cute?

Judging by her daughters’ reactions, it was a hit.

Even Noia, usually the serious one, couldn’t resist squeezing the bear’s paws and play-fighting with Moon’s bear—having the time of their lives.

And this delightful happiness? Only Leon could bring them that.

Big sister Isar used to tell her about the importance of having a man in the family, as if her number was something out of a riddle, but Roswiser scoffed at the notion, insisting she could manage just fine without one.

But thinking back to just now, if Leon hadn’t been there, Roswiser—the queen, mind you—would have schooled Noia, insisting that such childish games were a waste of time they had better spent on something “more royal.”

That’s the kingly way to handle things.

Cool-headed, decisive, and efficient.

No need to waste time, energy, or emotion on trivial matters.

But Leon tackled it like a true dad.

He didn’t want his daughters to go out and learn lessons—those could wait.

Right now, he simply wanted to stand up for his girls.

This was a parenting philosophy Roswiser would likely never grasp in the short term.

And you know what? It was fine. She supported Leon in his approach—everything was for the sake of the children!

Roswiser lowered her eyelids, holding the massive bear tightly, resting her chin on its fuzzy head.

When Leon first offered it, she said she didn’t want it.

He retorted, “I already spent the money, so we either keep it or toss it!”

She quickly protested, “No way!”

And just like that, the family-of-four, with three ladies clutching their oversized bears, turned heads as they passed by other dragons.

That tail-less, empty-handed man was bound to catch some attention.

Everyone could see these generous fortunes were gifted from the secretive male dragon.

Of course, eventually, the onlookers’ gazes settled on the adorable bears.

Roswiser was used to being gazed upon with reverence, but handling this envious attention? Not so much.

She even caught a few little dragons pointing at their stuffed bears, asking their parents if they could have one too.

Feeling the weight of all those dragon eyes, Roswiser couldn’t help but bury her face deeper into the bear’s soft head.

“Careful, or you might suffocate,” Leon quipped out of nowhere.

“Is it really that hard for you to say something nice?”

“Why should I say nice things? This bear’s worth a hundred compliments; I could talk twenty times a day and still not have to say something nice for another three months!”

“…I guess with a bit of self-care, your tongue’s as sharp as ever, huh?”

Leon raised his hands in surrender then made a “zip it” motion at his mouth like he was closing an invisible zipper.

The family had a blast at Young Dragon Paradise that entire afternoon.

A few dragons even recognized Roswiser as the Silver Dragon Queen—probably relatives of some other royalty or leaders.

Out of politeness, Roswiser chatted with them for a moment.

As evening rolled in, they returned to Selina’s photo studio to pick up the day’s snapshots.

The family portrait was large, while the school photos and sister snapshots were smaller, so Selina had them packaged separately.

On the way home, the three girls sat on Roswiser’s huge dragon back.

Moon was practically bouncing off the walls, eager to rip open the family portrait packaging, but Leon stopped her.

“We’ll open it at home, Moon.”

“Okay~ Listening to Dad~”

After hours of flying, they landed at Silver Dragon Temple around ten at night.

Head Maid Anna had prepared a late-night snack for them.

After a quick bite to satisfy their hunger, the four of them headed to the nursery where Leon usually slept, ready to unwrap the photos.

Naturally, the first one opened was the family portrait.

Leon swiftly tore open the package, revealing a beautifully crafted family photo that showcased them all together.

Hearty smiles all around—truly fitting Roswiser’s idea of a good family:

Harmonious.

Besides the original-sized family portrait, Selina had also included four smaller copies for bedside tables or similar displays.

Roswiser flipped over Noia’s school photo and handed it to her eldest daughter, reminding her, “Take good care of this, okay, Noia?”

“Of course, Mom.”

“And this one is a picture of Moon with Dad and me. Moon, you keep this safe, too.” She passed another photo to Moon.

With both hands, Moon accepted it, “Got it, Mom~”

“That leaves the rest, which are your sister pics. You can take those back to your room and unwrap them slowly.”

“Okay!”

Just as the two little ones were about to leave, Noia suddenly paused, pointing at a separately packaged photo.

“What’s in that one?”

It was packaged separately from the family portrait, school photos, and sister shots.

Leon happened to glance over as he picked it up and weighed it in his hands.

“Looks like there’s just one photo.”

“Let’s see what it is, Dad!” Moon chimed in.

“Alright.”

Leon unwrapped the solitary package, and the first thing that slid out was a light gold card.

Roswiser caught the card, which featured beautifully written text:

“May the silver light forever shine in the eyes of those you love.”

Roswiser furrowed her brow, “What does this mean…?”

At the same time, Leon pulled out the photo inside.

Silence fell over him as he glanced at it.

Moon, trying to peek over Leon’s arm, tiptoed in excitement to see.

But her reaction was a complete contrast to Leon’s solemnity.

The little dragon girl happily wagged her tail, her little tuft of hair bobbing along with her excitement.

“Mommy and Daddy look so perfect together!”

Roswiser raised an eyebrow, “Perfect? What’s in the photo? Leon?”

Leon pursed his lips and handed the photo over.

Roswiser took it.

The picture didn’t feature grand setups, fancy lighting, or luxurious dresses and suits.

It was simply of her and Leon sitting casually on a chair, smiling at each other, lost in the moment.

It was clearly a candid shot captured by Selina at just the right time.

And in that brief instant, all the rivalry and petty squabbles between them vanished.

At that moment, it seemed they existed only for each other.

Suddenly, it all clicked for Roswiser—the meaning behind the card:

“May the silver light forever shine in the eyes of those you love…”

Before either of them could even process when that photo had been taken, Moon excitedly piped up from the side, “Mommy! Daddy! By the way, you still don’t have a wedding photo!”

Leon looked at Roswiser, finding her already staring back at him.

They exchanged a knowing glance, silence hanging in the air.

Leon: “Wedding what photo?”

Moon: “Wedding photo!”

Roswiser: “What photo?”

Moon: “Wedding photo!”

Leon & Roswiser: “Wedding what?”

Moon: “Wedding photo! Aaaaaah w(゚Д゚)w!”

Wedding photo?

Not a chance! There’s no way they’d ever get around to taking one!
