80 Husband, Move!
(4000 words)
”Husband, Move!”
After the relay race, it’s time for the usual sporting events – you know, high jump, long jump, javelin, that sort of thing.
Once again, the three of them worked together, adding up their scores for a final ranking.
Every dragon race has its strengths.
However, in events that don’t involve speed, the Silver Dragon Race doesn’t really have any advantages.
Roswiser and Noia were worried that the lead they earned in the relay would just go down the drain in the next events.
But as it turned out, having Leon around made their worries unnecessary.
What can you say? He’s so ridiculously strong that he’s not even counted in the scores. This guy is an absolute hexagonal warrior.
When it comes to just pure strength or speed, Leon might be outclassed by some specific dragon types.
But overall, Leon’s advantages shined through, and let’s not forget – this is a Dragon Race sports event!
Just not having touched him for a while, Roswiser could already tell he was in top form. If it were during his prime, wouldn’t he just obliterate everyone?
If someone like Leon stayed on the battlefield, all dragons would feel the pressure, wouldn’t they…?
Not to mention, as if that isn’t enough, he’s a human who can get himself pregnant before dying!
He truly deserves the title of the strongest Dragon Slayer in every aspect.
Roswiser thought to herself.
Once the regular competitions wrapped up, there was absolutely no doubt that Leon’s family’s total score was in first place, and the two little dragon girls were absolutely over the moon.
As long as they performed reasonably well in the final fun game segment, there was no doubt they would win.
Leon: “Vacation! Vacation! Vacation!”
“Alright, then! The final segment of this family sports day, the fun games, is about to start. I’ll announce the rules,” the staff member said at the podium.
“In the fun games section, each family’s adult dragons and young dragons will compete separately.”
“The younglings will play ‘Protect the Balloon.’ Staff will attach balloons to the younglings’ backs; if a balloon pops, they’re out. The younglings will be grouped in a designated area for the competition, and whoever is left standing is the winner.”
“As for the adult dragons, they will face off in a ‘Three-Legged Race.’”
The trigger keyword: Three-Legged Race.
Leon and Roswiser exchanged glances.
They both saw the same signal in each other’s eyes:
Qin Shi Huang touches the switch – We are totally gonna win!
Win!
The Three-Legged Race was their first trust exercise, and their synchronization was quite impressive.
And Roswiser’s “sure bet” was spot on; the last and most critical event was indeed related to the Three-Legged Race.
However, Leon didn’t pop the champagne just yet.
Past experiences taught him that in this godforsaken academy, every time someone popped champagne midway, it would almost end in disaster.
Like that time during the interview, or the later model family speech…
Those moments almost cost Leon half of his life.
“And for the specifics of the Three-Legged Race, please head to the starting point. During the game, take your time to explore and enjoy the surprises!”
Leon flashed a grin. Ha! Good call on not opening the champagne early.
All the adult dragons from various families gathered at the start line of the Three-Legged Race, where staff tied ropes around their ankles.
Once they were bound together, Leon instinctively wrapped his arms around Roswiser’s waist.
Roswiser glanced at the arm resting on her waist, then shot a teasing look at Leon and said, “Wow, you’re quite skilled at this, aren’t you?”
“Practice makes perfect, my wife,” Leon replied.
“Idiot…”
She pretended to complain, but Roswiser, like Leon, skillfully wrapped her arms around his waist in return.
Still a great fit.
Standing at the starting point, they looked ahead and saw a little makeshift booth about fifty meters away.
The booth had a closed door and was opaque. Surely, it was the obstacle they’d face first.
For some reason, Roswiser felt a strange sense of anticipation.
“Alright, please get ready~~~”
The referee raised the Dragon Flame in hand and shouted, “Start!”
The signal exploded in the air, and the bound adult dragons began sprinting forward, bumping into each other—
Then they all faceplanted.
“What happened? Why didn’t we take a step with the bound foot first?”
“What? I thought we were supposed to move the outside foot first?”
“Idiot, get up quickly!”
“So embarrassing, so embarrassing!”
“Husband, are you okay?!”
“Uhh… I think I pulled something…”
“……”
At the sound of “start,” the area was filled with moans of despair.
“d*mn it, what kind of torturous event is this? Who can even do this?” one adult dragon complained.
“N-no, wait… someone can do it…” his companion pointed forward toward the race track.
There, two figures—a black and a silver dragon—were tightly connected, arms resting on each other’s waists, moving in perfect harmony without a hint of imbalance.
WOC, where did these dragon special forces come from?
It wasn’t just a matter of a few body lengths ahead. If these dragons kept making a scene, they should just hand the championship to this silver dragon family right now.
Finally snapping back to reality, the other adult dragons rallied their spirits.
While their rhythm and teamwork still resembled a hot mess, they could at least manage to move forward somewhat.
And Leon and Roswiser were the first to reach the little booth, much to everyone’s astonishment.
They pushed open the door and stepped inside.
Thinking they would face some sort of intelligence test or something, they were shocked to find only a table, two chairs, and an entire bowl…
Of noodles.
Steam curled up from the fresh, long noodles, exuding a rich smell of wheat, and alongside the boiling broth, the aroma was mouthwatering——
But this was an entire bowl of noodles!
Not a bowl, not a plate, but a full-on basin—pe yi en!
As soon as Leon and Roswiser entered, the Shadow Stone began to play footage.
“Welcome to the first round, Family Feeding!”
“The rules of this round are as follows: Family Member A must eat all the noodles in front of them with the help of Family Member B. Once finished, you can pass. But remember, switching roles midway counts as cheating, and the Shadow Stone will be monitoring the entire time~”
“Also, this round’s noodles have been exclusively sponsored by Teshua, the young dragon noodle brand. Teshua~ Extra smooth~”
Leon smirked. “Are you kidding me? Even sponsored product placement?!”
“You eat, I’ll feed,” Roswiser said.
She secretly chuckled, her devious plan already brewing within.
Leon blinked. “So you’ve already decided I’m the one eating, huh?”
“You don’t want our daughter to miss out on first place, do you?”
Roswiser dragged Leon over to the table.
Once they were seated, she picked up a fork, twirled a noodle, and with one hand supporting it, brought it to Leon’s mouth, gently speaking, “Come on, I’ll feed you, ah~~”
That’s strange.
This mother dragon suddenly acted so sweet, even during a competition, it was unnaturally gentle.
Leon, while eyeing her with suspicion, opened his mouth to eat the noodle.
Hiss——
Not until that noodle slid down did Leon notice something felt off.
Come on, mother dragon! Toss in some mischief; otherwise, this noodle isn’t sitting right (not really).
“Mmm, delicious. Come on, take your time, no rush.”
As she spoke, Roswiser grabbed a second noodle.
Leon obediently opened his mouth for more feeding.
Before he knew it, he had scarfed down several rolls and finally realized the issue!
Although the woman said “take it slow,” she was feeding him at a speed that left afterimages!
In less than twenty seconds, Leon had already been stuffed with four or five rolls!
Being rapidly fed at such an abnormal pace left him feeling somewhat deflated.
“Slow down, slow down… we’re in first place anyway, no need to rush.”
“Huh? Okay, whatever you say. Open wide~”
Roswiser sweetly responded while her hands didn’t stop at all.
Leon blinked and mumbled, “Weren’t we supposed to go slow?” before opening his mouth blankly.
Roswiser shoved the noodle in, then eagerly grabbed the next one.
Leon swallowed hard, waving his hands, “I really can’t take anymore, let me rest.”
“Don’t! If you’re not being enthusiastic about eating, you’ve got problems. Come on, husband, open wide~”
Husband.
Husband?!
This was Roswiser’s sweetest moment ever!
Hearing her call him husband felt like floating in the clouds, but with the pace she was feeding him, he couldn’t handle it even if she shouted it ten times!
And knowing Roswiser, she wouldn’t suddenly be this considerate over a competition.
In a flash, he had taken a few more bites, and the realization hit him—this was revenge!
This was the mother dragon’s revenge!
Just recently, when Roswiser had awakened, Leon had compelled her into drinking fish soup like this.
Oh no, the mother dragon had found an opportunity for a reenactment!
“Husband, move! Just move a little, husband, come on, ah~~”
“Mother dragon, just calm down! The principal just said friendship is the priority, and competition is secondary.”
“Right, but you’re third, so friendship and competition are both more important than you. For Noia, hurry up and eat, husband~”
With that, Roswiser pinched Leon’s chin and jammed noodles into his mouth.
“Mm mm mm——”
Meanwhile, outside the booth, the game host narrated:
“Alright! Everyone, after the Melkway family, several other families have also reached the first stage.”
“Oh~ Watching them feed each other like that reminds me of my first love. We also had a beautiful romance~”
“Look! The wife from the Ross family is thoughtfully preparing napkins for her husband!”
“And the husband from the Cant family, while eating noodles, gazes deeply at his wife! So touching! So touching!!”
“Now, how’s the Melkway family, our former model family, doing? Let’s take a look—”
“Oh, well… it’s quite… a bold scene. We can see that the husband of the Melkway family seems to want to escape the table, but due to being tied together, he can’t move more than two steps away from his wife!”
“Just look, the wife of Melkway is furiously stuffing noodles into her husband’s mouth, utilizing her speed advantage as a silver dragon!”
“Mmm… the motions are so fast they’re like a fight…??”
“I’d like to ask a more personal question: do you two feed each other like this at home too?”
But boldness aside, Leon and Roswiser managed to pass this round with a first-place score.
“Congratulations! You two have passed the first round! There’s a special digestive aid outside; just take it with water, it works quickly.”
The couple stood up.
Roswiser was all smiles, helping the pale-faced Leon out of the booth.
At the entrance, there indeed was a cup of water and a digestive pill.
She helped Leon take it, then “gently” stroked his chest, “You were so brave, my warrior.”
This isn’t caring; this is the delight of a successful act of revenge!
Leon shot her a glance, saying nothing but looking down the lanes, noticing they seemed to be the first group out.
It was a painful process, but they were still far ahead!
“Let’s move on to the second round,” Leon suggested.
“Mm-hm.”
Since the digestive aid hadn’t kicked in yet, they slowed their tempo a bit.
The second round also took place in a small booth.
When they walked in, they found the same setup with a table and two chairs. This time, though, there was a game host sitting opposite them.
“Please take a seat. The second round is called ‘Answering Off-Topic.’ I will randomly ask you various questions, but remember, your answers must be unrelated to the question.”
“For instance, if I ask this gentleman’s name, you should answer ‘I’m a man’ or ‘I have a daughter’ or something similar.”
“Complete ten questions to pass. If you answer anything relevant, you’ll be penalized for ten seconds.”
The tricky part of this game is controlling your reflex to respond to those “dum-dum” questions.
With the added penalty of “time,” it’s bound to make you a bit anxious, which might lead to some slip-ups on the questions.
The couple exchanged glances, then took their seats.
Answering off-topic? That’s just their basic skill!
The second round began.
“Okay, for the first question: Sir, what color is your wife’s tail? Please answer immediately!” The host spoke rapidly, putting pressure on Leon.
Having just faced a pressure-cooker moment from the mother dragon, Leon’s mouth almost mechanically formed the shape for “Y,” but thankfully he hit the brakes just in time, “Duck!”
“Very good! Very good! It seems this gentleman—”
Before the host could finish the compliment, he turned to Roswiser, “What is your husband’s profession?”
“Dragon slayer—ah… uh, Draconia.”
The host paused for a beat, “Do we have a draconian subcategory? This question doesn’t count toward passing.”
“Ah, yes! There was a small tribe; it’s disbanded now. My husband joined our Silver Dragon tribe,” Roswiser quickly clarified.
The host nodded, “Alright, next question—”
The next few questions followed suit, all ones that could be answered without much thought in every day, but according to the game rules, they couldn’t answer correctly.
Leon and Roswiser stumbled into a penalty, racking up twenty seconds.
But they managed to find their rhythm and slowly approached the final two questions.
“Sir, which part of your body are you most satisfied with?”
“My wife.”
Roswiser silently facepalmed.
Even if they’re following the rules of providing non-related answers, does it really need to be that ridiculous?
“Alright, for the final question! Today’s weather is lovely, perfect for a sports day! I’m really curious how the young dragon group is doing—”
The host kept firing off “smoke bombs” at Leon, casually chatting one second and tossing out questions the next.
He focused intently on the host’s lips, nervously swallowing.
“If possible, maybe I’d like to become a forest ranger upon retirement—do you love your husband?”
“Love—.” Roswiser almost answered without thinking.
Leon: ?
Host: !
Looks like they’ve definitely flopped on the last question! Just sit there and wait ten seconds!
But just as the host was about to issue the penalty, Roswiser quickly recovered, turning the tables with, “Love—oh, stealing ideas when doing homework.”
The host blinked.
You can turn this into a reasonable conclusion?!
Roswiser internally sighed in relief.
With no choice, the host gestured with a “what can you do, that’s you” expression, not intentionally trying to make things difficult.
After all, it was a fun event, and the aim was to enjoy it.
“Well then, congratulations on both passing the second round.”
The host stood up, opening the booth’s door for them. “But honestly, those who instinctively say ‘love’ must truly appreciate it! Monthly fee group ⑥ Nine Four Nine Three Six One Three Five”
Roswiser: “Don’t take it seriously. I just said whatever without thinking.”
