82. A Trustworthy One
(4K Words)
Once upon a time, a perfect vacation was laid out before him, and he didn’t cherish it;
It was only after he lost in the finals and was captured that he regretted it all. The most painful thing is realizing it too late;
If heaven could give him another chance, he would definitely choose to be an otaku on vacation;
If he had to put a deadline on this vacation, he would wish for it to be seven days.
—Excerpt from “The Glorious and Abstract Life of Leon Casmod, the Empire’s Mightiest Dragon Slayer”
Leon lay in the top-notch hotel in Sky City.
Beneath him was a soft, lavish bed, the room filled with the aroma of high-end incense. On the bedside table sat a magical bell, which supposedly, with just a gentle press, would summon a professional service person to knock on his door within two minutes—
The service staff could either be the fastidious and sophisticated Sebas or the playful and sexy black stocking dragon maid, all depending on one’s preference.
Of course, regardless of which kind of service it was, it was all totally green.
For the entire afternoon, Leon lay in the hotel mourning his lost seven-day otaku vacation.
Just mourning wasn’t enough; every half hour, he rang the bell and asked either Sebas or the dragon maid who came to check on him:
“Do you crave a vacation?”
To which the trained staff would uniformly respond:
“We desire that you have a wonderful vacation, dear customer.”
Wonderful.
Wonderful my foot!
Can you see the words “wonderful” on my mourning face?
Or can you even read?
Knock knock knock—
A sound echoed at the door.
“I didn’t call for service,” Leon replied lazily.
“It’s me,” came Roswiser’s voice.
Leon rolled his eyes and ignored her.
She had clearly asked for an extra key to his room when they checked in this morning. Why was she pretending to be polite now like some big mother dragon?
A weasel wishing the chicken good luck—there’s trouble brewing.
Leon threw back the covers and buried himself under them.
Knock knock knock—
“Open up, Leon, it’s urgent.”
What could possibly be urgent?
You’re already the lady of the champion family; it’s like a little cow floating in a hot-air balloon—cows in the sky!
He was fed up and didn’t want to deal with her!
Leon turned onto his side and covered his ears with the blanket.
Click—
The door turned, and Roswiser indeed let herself in with the key.
The sound of her high heels approached and finally stopped at Leon’s bedside.
Fortunately, he had just turned to the side, so now he was facing away from Roswiser.
“Turn around; I need to talk to you,” Roswiser said.
“I’m asleep.”
“Then how are you able to talk back in your sleep?”
Leon closed his eyes and chose to remain silent.
Click click click—
Roswiser clacked her heels around the foot of the bed and came to Leon’s other side, finally facing him.
But then—
Leon slyly turned to the other side.
Roswiser placed her hands on her hips, biting her lip, and angrily marched back around.
Then Leon turned back again.
Thus, he turned, she circled, and he was stuck in the middle.
After a few rounds, Roswiser lost her patience, kicked off her shoes, climbed onto the bed, and sat on Leon’s—
Lumbar region.
“Don’t worry, I won’t touch you for these seven days,” she said sincerely.
“Having you sit on my lap while saying that has zero credibility, you know?…”
Roswiser lifted her rear slightly, flipping Leon onto his back, then—
Sat down on his stomach.
“Is this more comfortable now?” Roswiser asked.
Leon was speechless, covering his face with his hands, he let out a heavy sigh.
Roswiser gently pushed his chest.
“Hey, I know this is your hard-won vacation, but the school has arranged a seven-day hot spring tour, and there are fixed times—no exceptions.”
With understanding in her voice, Roswiser continued, “But think about our daughters; they’re all so happy. When they’re happy, doesn’t that make you, as their dad, happy too?”
“Ha, ha, ha, I’m so happy.”
“And like I just said, I really, really, really won’t touch you, I swear.”
Saying this, Roswiser raised three fingers plus her tail.
But Leon wasn’t buying it.
Just because she said she wouldn’t touch didn’t mean she wouldn’t think about touching.
It was her hands. They were attached to her body; she could touch wherever she pleased!
Leon huffed and pulled a pillow over his head.
“I need two boxes of Dragon Strength to believe you.”
“Don’t take it too far, Dragon Slayer! I swear on the Silver Dragon Queen’s honor that I won’t touch you these seven days, just like we agreed before! The hot spring trip won’t change that.”
“Silver Dragon Queen’s…honor…”
“Yes.”
“Good honor.”
As Leon sat up, Roswiser leaned back slightly because of his movement.
Since she was still sitting on him, when he sat up, they were suddenly very close.
“Then it’s a deal; for these seven days, you are not allowed to touch me at all.”
Once he said that, Leon felt it sounded kinda strange.
Hiss— How did it feel like the shy girl marrying into the rich boy’s family?
On their wedding night, the girl plaintively said: “You’re not allowed to touch me.”
The young master chuckled, “Okay, okay, my little beauty~~”
Then that night, they had a blast.
Back to the point.
Roswiser nodded seriously, “Mm, I promise not to touch you. But~”
Leon shot her a glance, “I knew there was a ‘but’ coming.”
“But if you can’t control yourself, don’t blame me.”
With that, Roswiser leaned in, their foreheads gently touching, their noses barely brushing.
The subtle scent from her body was much better than the high-end incense in the room.
Their silver and black eyes locked, seemingly confirming each other’s…honor.
“I can definitely control myself; what are you joking about? I’m a Dragon Slayer. Why would I touch a mother dragon for no reason?”
Roswiser chuckled lightly, giving his shoulder a nudge, pushing him back down.
Then she stretched out her long legs, swung down, and sat on the edge of the bed, putting on her shoes.
“Alright, then it’s a deal. If my dragon pattern lights up even once in these seven days, Leon, you’re done for.”
Leon sat on the bed, pondering these words carefully.
Something…felt off?
Had he unknowingly walked into this cunning mother dragon’s trap again?
While he didn’t know what the trap was, from past experiences and current feelings, this wouldn’t end well, would it?
Before he could respond any further, Roswiser stood up, fixing her hair.
“Get dressed; we’re going out.”
“Where to?”
“To the hot springs; we need to buy swimsuits, of course.”
…
With their family situation, any service could be customized for them.
But the kids still preferred to go out and stroll around with their parents, and Leon and Roswiser had no objections to that.
The two little dragon daughters held hands in the swimsuit store, picking out various cute swimsuits for young dragons.
Meanwhile, Roswiser was with Leon, browsing through adult dragon swimsuits.
Honestly, Leon was never a fan of accompanying women shopping.
Back in his academy days, during breaks, all he wanted to do was lie on his master’s farm, herding sheep and cows, chatting with a donkey;
But his mistress would always drag him shopping for hours.
It was just like now.
Only this time, he was with a mother dragon instead of a mistress.
“What do you think about this one?”
“Looks good.”
“You didn’t even look!”
Clearly, no amount of shrugging would work, so Leon turned to Roswiser.
She stood in front of the mirror, holding up a swimming outfit. It looked quite fitting.
“Mm, looks good,” Leon said.
“Pfft, it feels like there’s too much fabric.”
With that, Roswiser switched to another one.
This time, the fabric was minimal.
So minimal that even when not worn, it was enough to make one blush.
Leon sensed what was happening and quickly turned his eyes away.
“Hey, how about this one?”
“Um…no good.”
“You didn’t even look again!” Roswiser stomped her foot.
“I did! It’s just okay!”
Purely from a man’s perspective, if Roswiser wore that swimsuit to the hot springs, the dragon pattern wouldn’t just light up—it could glow all night long!
Roswiser pouted, “Fine. Actually, I was just browsing. I had already prepared swimsuits before coming here. Let’s pick you a pair of swim trunks.”
“I can go without!” Leon is shameless.
“Ha, you’re so funny.”
In the end, they found swimsuits for both little dragon daughters and Leon. The family of four left the store, brimming with excitement.
Next up was the celebration feast.
To celebrate their victory at the school sports meet.
The family was in high spirits, reveling in the joyous moment.
However, Roswiser could still vaguely sense that Leon seemed a bit uninterested.
Sure, when the daughters were happy, he would be too;
But sometimes, he just wanted to set aside his roles as a dad and husband and just be himself.
Roswiser’s thoughts stirred, and she wanted to say something.
But then Noia spoke up first.
She held a cup filled with drinks, extending it towards Leon and Roswiser.
Seeing this, the couple quickly raised their own glasses to refill.
“Thank you so much for helping us win the sports meet. I… I…”
Visibly, Noia wanted to continue expressing her gratitude.
But she wasn’t very good at articulating her feelings in general, and at this moment, it was even harder.
Fortunately, Roswiser understood her daughter and quickly interjected, “When adults express their gratitude, they often down their drinks first.”
Noia got the hint, and promptly lifted her small head, drinking all the beverage in her glass.
Leon and Roswiser also downed their glasses of red wine at once.
“Oh, and there’s also…,”
Noia’s little face turned red, shining under the soft candlelight at the dinner table, making her look incredibly cute.
“I promised you… if we won, I would call you—”
Noia looked up at Leon and bit her soft lips, gathering all her courage to finally meet his gaze.
The flicker of candlelight danced in the pupils of the father and daughter, both trembling slightly.
All of a sudden, the girl softly called out,
“Dad.”
Before Leon could even process his reaction, Noia quickly added,
“Ah, actually, even if we didn’t win, I would still… still call you that. Uh, thank you so much for supporting me, Dad.”
Hearing Noia say this, for some reason, Roswiser felt much more relieved.
bl**d ties were indeed a miraculous thing, like an eternal flame that could melt the hardest ice.
Roswiser looked over at Leon.
It was clear that the father of the children was now completely in a state of mental outage.
Noia calling him “Dad” could make him burst with potential to win first place;
But it could also leave him dazed.
In the end, it was Roswiser who gently kicked his calf beneath the table that brought him back to reality.
“Ah… it’s fine, it’s fine. Winning wasn’t all me; you worked hard for it too. Your mom and I just did what little we could. Uh… where’s the wine? Pour me a glass, let’s toast.”
Roswiser refilled his glass halfway.
Leon gulped it down entirely.
Clearly, aside from being happy and excited about Noia calling him “Dad,” he also felt a bit flustered.
Roswiser smiled with satisfaction.
With this cheerful and harmonious atmosphere, who would have guessed that this family had such a complex situation?
“Oh right… there’s one most important thing.”
Noia said, “You both have to close your eyes.”
“Eh? Why?” Moon asked.
Noia covered her little sister’s big eyes, “Just listen to me; no peeking, no matter what.”
“Okay, okay~”
Roswiser smiled, propping her chin with one hand, and closed her eyes.
Leon did the same, obeying her instructions.
In the private dining room, Noia jumped off her chair, creating a soft rustling sound.
She purposely lightened her steps, walking over to Moon first, giving her little sister a hug;
Then she moved to Roswiser, hugging her mom tightly;
Finally, she got to Leon’s side, tiptoeing and gently wrapping her arms around Leon’s neck.
Leon also realized it was Noia hugging him and raised his hand to reciprocate.
Noia leaned in, whispering in his ear, “Thank you, Dad.”
Leon didn’t open his eyes, just nodded.
But just when he thought a hug was the end, he suddenly felt a warmth on his cheek.
Was that… Noia giving him a secret kiss?
No wonder she wanted everyone to close their eyes; with something like this… Noia would be too embarrassed to do it in front of others.
What Leon didn’t know was that among the three involved, only he received this special treatment from Noia.
A gentle, fleeting kiss on the cheek—
From his daughter.
Noia returned to her seat, “Alright.”
Moon eagerly opened her eyes, feigning confusion, “What happened? What happened?”
“I secretly took your steak,” Noia teased.
“Ah, sister, how could you do that?” Moon huffed angrily.
“Just kidding, it’s right here.”
“Sister, you’re the best~ Love you~”
The scene of the daughters playing was beautiful and heartwarming. Roswiser withdrew her gaze and looked at Leon, who appeared even more dazed than before.
But in the blink of an eye, his mood visibly improved—no, much more than that.
