The Paranoid Elf Queen Turned Me Into Her Sister – Chapter 1

1~ Strange Flyers

Such an unlucky start!

………..

After returning to the dormitory, Dillin lay on his bed like a rubber man, entering a complete state of inertia.

His teammates had left, and there was only a month left until the Crown Cup for newcomers at Coleman Academy. Dillin couldn’t care less about whether they win or even place; the real issue was getting expelled.

That half-bl**d b*stard with pointy ears said something that actually made sense. With Dillin being such a no-good Divine Authority user and having no teammates, he’d only end up getting beaten if he went into battle. He’d be lucky not to be the first one kicked off the stage.

He needed to reassemble his team and recruit more divine maidens.

But where could he find them? With his current standing, he can’t even use the most basic Divine Authority skill, “Soul Communication,” so what divine maiden would want him?

The rich Divine Authority users could use money to recruit short-term team members for their squads. If they lack talent, they could always throw more money at the problem. But Dillin? He had no talent, no money, and after the two divine maidens left his squad, he was screwed.

Forget about a month; even with a year, the odds were stacked heavily against him. As long as there are any Divine Authority users left in the academy, it’s not his turn to shine.

In this month, something unexpected might happen to him.

But what are the options? He can’t get expelled.

Coleman Academy is the academic capital of the continent, gathering the most reputable mentors, the most cutting-edge academic knowledge, and the most excellent divine maidens.

Numerous Divine Authority users and Mages who want to rise to prominence fight desperately to get in here. Dillin had burned all his luck just getting in as a Divine Authority user with no special abilities.

In fact, until today, Dillin was still confused about how he had passed entry on special terms. Divine Authority users are rare, but his kind of “crippled” Divine Authority user wouldn’t even be wanted in a normal academy, let alone Coleman Academy.

Literally, even dogs wouldn’t want him.

After lying there for a while, he sat up.

He couldn’t get expelled. Not only because once expelled, he’d be left high and dry.

Dillin is an ordinary man with no great aspirations. He didn’t have lofty aims in life. The sole purpose of becoming a Divine Authority user and entering Coleman was simple:

To make money, and lots of it.

Now, he really needed a sum of money, an amount that was way beyond his means.

He had thought that upon becoming a Divine Authority user and entering the academy, he’d quickly strike it rich. Instead, not only did he fail to strike it rich, but he had already wasted a whole year’s tuition fee.

This pointy-eared monster runs an academy rife with corruption, and they won’t return your tuition if you get expelled.

“Rustle!” Amidst his deep thought, a soft piece of paper flew right into his face, obstructing his vision.

“Who the heck is it? Throwing paper into someone else’s house!” Dillin tore the flyer off his face.

These people doing part-time jobs at the academy really lack professionalism. Sticking flyers under dormitory doors is one thing, but throwing them into the windows is too extreme, isn’t it??

Tearing it off, Dillin couldn’t help but glance at the content. And after just reading the first sentence, he knew what the rest was going to say without needing to continue.

It’s not like it could be anything else—tempting you to take up a part-time job, spouting motivational nonsense.

Dillin doesn’t understand: why don’t these people distribute flyers somewhere else? Why do they do it in the academy? Who do they think would want to do part-time work? Divine Maidens or Divine Authority users, or Mages?

Divine Authority users are surrounded by Divine Maidens. Divine Maidens are the sons and daughters of noble houses; would they be short of money? The Mages? Forget it! They’re the kind of people who thrive on money, becoming a recognized profession alongside Divine Authority users and Divine Maidens—they definitely don’t lack money.

It should be noted that the terms “Divine Maidens” and “Divine Authority users” are professional titles unrelated to gender. There are both Female Divine Authority users and Male Divine Maidens.

“Academy officially hosted part-time jobs, participants can get 1,000,000 gold coins upon arrival……….”

Tsk tsk, these days no one bothers to draft lies properly. This number could at least be somewhat more credible with a 4- prefix.

But it still wouldn’t be much more credible, just a little.

As he was about to throw this flyer out the window as waste paper, he suddenly froze and quickly clutched the flyer back.

He spotted the emblem in the bottom right corner of the flyer—a silver crescent moon hanging in the misty clouds.

This was the official seal of Coleman Academy. Just judging from the color alone, it was definitely not forged. Dillin had seen the exact same seal on his admission notice, and this kind of emblem, empowered by Divine Authority, would never be copied.

But still, how could it be?

An official part-time job hosted by the academy? Did academy jobs really need to be announced via flyers? Wouldn’t it be more efficient to post them in the official commission hall with a promise of rich rewards, attracting divine maidens and divine authority users?

It’s worth noting that the flyer was written in Elvish, but also had a human language translation below it so humans could understand.

After confirming multiple times that the emblem wasn’t fake, Dillin was hesitant.

If this emblem was not forged, then the academy’s official flyer might indeed be credible.

However, what kind of part-time job would be worth this many gold coins?

The number on the flyer looked like the person who made it up randomly wrote it down, not caring about the exact amount, just adding zeroes until it became impossible to refuse.

In the past, Dillin wouldn’t have cared about this suspicious flyer. But this was now.

He’s really short on money.

What if, just maybe, he could take a look?

Dillin couldn’t resist. Even though the flyer seemed questionable, he had no other choice. With the academy’s official emblem, it might indeed be a legitimate job.

Is there any way the academy would try to harm him? Dillin thought it’s unnecessary to worry about that. How big is Coleman Academy’s influence? Not only does it monopolize the academic world and the noble families of divine maidens, but it supposedly even has ties with the current Elf King. Would it bother with someone as insignificant as him? Wouldn’t it be a waste of resources?

Proud elves wouldn’t stoop so low, and if they wanted to k*ll him, he’d have vanished long ago, wouldn’t he?

So… why not take a look?

The flyer clearly stated the location – at Coleman Forest, on the outskirts of Coleman City.

Why there?

Dillin was puzzled. Coleman Forest was the boundary line between the continent and Ruglien. Numerous powerful beasts roamed there, making it an extremely dangerous place. Why would they choose such an unfavorable location??

The time was set for tonight.

Without much contemplation, Dillin was the type who doesn’t hesitate once a decision was made.

Even if the flyer was made by someone with ulterior motives, as long as there was a one-in-ten-thousand chance that it was real, he would go.

Was this punishment the result of her having read too many little picture books about elves in her past life? This time, she was fully immersed—actually turned into an elf herself… “So yeah, I really can’t bring myself to like you arrogant pointy-eared types.” “My dear little sister, say no more. I understand everything.” “I told you already—I’m not your sister’s reincarnation!!” Theresa was utterly hopeless.
