“Alright, let’s go get our butts handed to us.”
“I know the Cadifen family, but who’s Tillysha?”
“Who knows? Is it really that strange for a few wild goddesses to show up at Coleman Academy?”
“What’s going on this year? Prestigious Coleman Academy, which usually chooses quality over quantity, has recruited so many wild goddesses. Or is it just that I’ve happened to run into every single one of them at the academy?”
“Hmph………..” In the center of the audience seats, in the mentor’s section, Fland listened to the surrounding discussions with a smirk of cold arrogance on his lips.
He had sent someone to warn Tillysha to back off and leave Dillin’s team. But who would’ve thought that the wild girl would ignore the offer he made?
Fland was furious when he heard the news. He, a noble-blooded Elf and vice-mentor at Coleman Academy, had already given her the utmost courtesy by deigning to approach her. If this wild goddess didn’t know her own worth, then let reality teach her a lesson.
Fland sat gracefully in his mentor’s seat, chatting with the other mentors and occasionally keeping an eye on the situation in the arena, feeling quite pleased with himself inside.
“Sir Aistride, why are you here as well?” One of the mentors said.
Upon hearing this, Fland’s demeanor instantly changed. All traces of civility disappeared, his facial muscles contorted with servility and flattery.
“Lord Aistride, how could you have come without telling me! Quick, quick, take this seat!” Fland immediately vacated his seat, bowing with a hand gesture towards the handsome Elven youth behind him.
“There’s no need for such formalities, Mentor Fland, please sit.” The dark-haired Elven youth did not accept Fland’s offer. Leaning on his cane, he glanced over the mentor’s section, found no vacant seat, and stood at the corner of the section silently observing the match without saying a word.
In front of his colleagues, the mentor did not accept his favor, leaving a flash of embarrassment on Fland’s face. But Fland didn’t sit back down. Instead, he stood alongside Aistride.
“Lord Aistride, have you come specially to watch Lady Aileen’s match?” Fland initiated the conversation when the other didn’t respond.
Fland knew that Aistride could only be here for Aileen. Only matters related to Aileen could make this renowned Elven scholar take time off from his lab.
Aistride was someone chasing the ethereal light of the crescent moon, a fact Fland was aware of.
As the prestigious Silver Moon Holy Maiden and the Elven Crown Princess, Aileen enjoyed high popularity not only among humans and demi-humans but had numerous admirers within the Elf clan as well.
Due to cultural differences, the courting methods of elves were quite unique. Compared to humans, elves expressed their fondness for the opposite s*x very subtly, and most would choose to quietly pay attention without disturbing the person they loved until they were sure the interest was reciprocated.
Aistride, the cleric, was such a person. He never mentioned to anyone that he had feelings for Aileen. However, within the Elf clan, it was a tacitly understood matter because whenever there was any news about Aileen, he would always be quite proactive, even setting aside experiments he was conducting halfway.
“Ah, unfortunately, I came a bit late.” Aistride replied casually. When he entered the mentor’s section, he had immediately noticed the moonlit silver-haired girl who was the center of attention in the audience area.
Given Aistride’s understanding of Aileen’s personality, she should have left the stage right after the match.
The fact that she stayed to watch the match indicated the next one must attract her interest in some way.
Could it possibly have to do with that human?
Aistride’s eyebrows twitched ever so slightly.
The battlefield was cleared, and a regal, upright brunette dressed in splendid attire walked out from the preparation room at one end. In her hand, she held a long whip, strutting with absolute confidence and assurance.
Today, Aileen was in high spirits. For her, teaching the reckless wild goddess a lesson was just an entertaining interlude. Her main purpose was to showcase her own strength and talent in front of the entire faculty and student body attending.
Her opponent was a goddess without a domain. This was definitely an opportunity she had to seize.
“Aileen? I remember she’s the second daughter of the Cadifen family. I wonder how strong she is.”
“What about Tillysha? The match is about to start, why hasn’t she shown up yet?” Aileen stayed, naturally leaving a large group of onlookers to gossip about the situation on the field.
Aileen sneered as she looked towards the exit on the other side of the arena.
Whether Tillysha had fled or would soon appear, she was bound to lose face today.
Silent in her seat among the audience, Aileen stared at the competitor channel with a penetrating gaze.
If her perception was correct, Tillysha, that gold-haired girl, was an unawakened goddess.
An awakened goddess versus an unawakened one? That was outright overkill.
Just as the audience was growing impatient, there was movement from the other competitor channel.
The dazzling platinum hair shone brilliantly under the blazing sun, flowing like silk down to her ankles and swaying with her confident steps, trailing behind her like a tail.
The gold-haired girl carried what looked like a ‘metal pipe’ nearly her own height, striding calmly onto the arena with a perfectly measured pace, each step seemingly hitting the perfect balance of poise and grace, drawing attention away from her background.
That’s…
Aileen widened her eyes slightly when she noticed the metal pipe on the girl’s back.
She instantly recognized it as Dillin’s fire cannon.
A fire cannon in a goddess battle??
Aileen knew this situation was likely as she suspected. Tillysha was indeed an unawakened goddess.
If that was so…
“Tsk………” Aileen scoffed inwardly as the girl made her entrance.
Wild spawn, what are you pretending about?
“It’s been a while, Tillysha. How coincidental, I didn’t expect to be paired with you.” Aileen swung her whip in her hand, grinning at the silent Tillysha.
“Between classmates, don’t you think you’d be better off cooperating with me?”
