Chapter 94 – Could it be her?
The female knight drew her colossal sword, which had the might to pierce the earth itself, and let her amber twin tails flow down to her knees like ribbons as she bent over in motion.
“So, there are only two teams left now.” The knight’s gaze shifted towards the mountaintop as if she were looking at someone in particular, her eyes gleaming with a rare excitement. “Aistride, same as last time, make this thrilling for me, will you?”
“Princess Filisia, the teams you eliminated previously were number 90 and 81. Based on that, besides Aistride, the remaining two teams should be number 77 and 30.” The single-ponytailed goddess son with glasses organized the information they had so far.
“Who are the members of teams 30 and 77?” A black-haired nun dressed in the clergy’s attire, cradling a divine staff, cutely tilted her head in curiosity.
“Sorry, I can’t recall clearly,” replied the goddess son, shaking her head.
“That’s fine, you’ve done enough.” Princess Filisia affectionately patted the head of her goddess son.
“Princess Filisia…” The goddess son’s face tinged with a blush as she savored the touch atop her head, much like a cat basking in her owner’s caress.
“Actually, I do have a vague recollection,” the nun hesitantly interjected.
“Oh?” Both of them turned their attention to the priestess goddess.
“Before the competition, there were multiple entrances to the Secret Realm, and I happened to be in the same passage as the young lady from team 30.” The nun rested her hand on her lips in thought. “I remember, I think her name was Tillysha.”
“Tillysha?” Princess Filisia paused upon hearing this name, recalling the tenacious golden-haired girl from the preliminary contest.
“Tillysha? I’ve never heard that name before.” The goddess son furrowed her brow. To become a worthy goddess son of Princess Filisia, she had done her homework meticulously, gathering information on many of the newcomers. There wasn’t a single accomplished newcomer she had missed, let alone the standouts.
Clearly, there wasn’t anyone named Tillysha among them. If there was, she would have remembered instantly.
There were only two possibilities for anyone escaping her information search: either the person was very well hidden or they were utterly unremarkable and not worth the effort she put into her research.
But could someone who made it to the top ten, even to the top five, be utterly unremarkable?
The goddess son felt a pang of guilt for this one tiny oversight, but Princess Filisia was deep in thought.
During the journey, she sometimes heard announcements mentioning the name Tillysha.
Could it be a coincidence with the same name?
“Anna, do you remember Tillysha’s appearance? You don’t need specifics, just tell me some key features.”
“I remember! That young lady had an extremely striking appearance. She had stunning golden hair, and her eyes were an emerald green, like green olivine!” The nun described vividly while gesturing.
“Golden hair, green eyes……” Each feature aligned with the memory of that particular girl.
But she was very beautiful?
“Did she have an unsightly scar across her face?” Princess Filisia inquired.
“Scar? No, Miss Tillysha’s face was flawless, like white jade, it couldn’t have had any scars.” Anna recalled.
“No scar?” Princess Filisia’s eyebrows furrowed slightly but she quickly dismissed the thought.
She didn’t need to dwell on whether it was that girl. Regardless, as long as she stayed here, they would meet eventually.
“Unfortunately, Lirin was eliminated, otherwise, we could have challenged Aistride’s team with all members intact,” the goddess son said regretfully.
“Losing a few members is unavoidable. They are all top talents in the top ten, none of them stand out in particular, don’t they?” Princess Filisia was quite magnanimous. From her perspective, as long as one was defeated honorably, there was nothing to complain about. If anything, blame should be on oneself for lacking the strength.
“You can’t blame the princess. If my Divine Analysis Technique was better, there wouldn’t have been such oversights.”
“Well, maybe I should confess too…” Anna held her divine staff, wondering if she should admit some fault as well.
Yet, before she could say anything, Princess Filisia and the goddess son suddenly fell into an eerie silence.
Having gone through small and large battles along the way, the nun eventually realized after a moment’s confusion.
The enemy had arrived.
Two figures became clear from afar on the mountain path.
Princess Filisia’s gaze focused on the golden-haired silhouette holding the longbow, while that golden-haired figure was also observing her.
Their gazes met.
The golden-haired girl calmly held her bow forward, with the white-haired cat-eared girl closely following behind.
Despite the change in appearance, Princess Filisia was certain that this exquisite golden-haired girl was the same stubborn little girl from the preliminary contest.
No doubt, she had become a goddess.
And not long after her awakening, she had swiftly advanced to the top five.
The last one to show such early talent was Aistride…….
How interesting.
Princess Filisia curved her lips into a smile.
“Princess Filisia, that white-haired cat-eared girl is one of the most promising priestesses of this session, Wenfu Shires.”
“Ah, it was a wise decision indeed to team up with a rising star priestess.”
“But…” Anna looked perplexed. “Princess Filisia, if I’m not mistaken, Miss Tillysha’s teammate was supposed to be a male godson, and there was no mention of a priestess.”
“I remember that too. It was decided that Shires’ teammates were set from the start, and Tillysha wasn’t among them.” The goddess son also appeared bewildered. “If there were no mistakes, these two should belong to different teams.”
“They’ve united.” It wasn’t hard to deduce that after her priestess lost all her teammates, she found Tillysha, equally without any teammates, and the two had quickly formed a temporary team.
Whether or not this arrangement was perfect, it was certainly not against the rules, otherwise the judges would have warned them.
But this wasn’t Princess Filisia’s main concern.
She noticed Tillysha’s eyes. They were calm, tranquil, and composed, gazing at her with an unassuming attentiveness. There was no obvious tension, nor any pretense of neglect. Her expression was neutral, like she always views everyone this way, including herself.
There was not a single hint of overconfidence in her gaze, making her look genuinely intriguing.
Looking at the proud golden-haired girl, Princess Filisia inexplicably began to get excited.
This knight princess of Baili loved battles, relished challenges, thrived against worthy opponents, and savored – oh, the joy of overcoming formidable foes.
