010. Totally Awful
“Yo~ nice b*tt!”
In the evening dorm, Ning Chu was bent over, hands on the desk, peeking at the ethernet cable for his laptop when suddenly, smack! someone slapped his b*tt.
He instinctively turned around and kicked out.
“Ouch, what the heck!”
Zhang Shaoqing tumbled to the side but quickly recovered with a cheeky grin. “Hey, let’s go grab some fruit! Don’t you want to eat watermelon in this hot weather?”
“Can’t you just order takeout?”
“Too expensive! Plus, we’d need to go outside and buy a kn*fe…”
“How about fruit salad?”
“That’s pricey too, and who knows if it’s fresh.”
What kind of rich second-generation is counting pennies like this?
Ning Chu rolled his eyes, too lazy to engage further. After confirming his laptop was online, he turned to open the wardrobe, tiptoeing to peer inside and search for tonight’s clean clothes.
During military training, he had to shower twice a day.
But his movements were a bit slow, and a look of uncertain suspicion crossed his face.
When he showered at noon, he was pretty sure he felt some extra softness up front. That freaked him out a bit, but the lunch break was too short to monopolize the restroom, so he didn’t dwell on it.
Tonight, he needed to check carefully…
Lost in thought, he felt another smack on his backside.
What’s with Zhang Shaoqing’s itchy hands!
Angrily turning around, he found it was Wen Yang this time.
Oh, the male protagonist? Well, in that case… Better keep good relations with the male lead; having his help in future plot disasters would be incredibly efficient.
“Stop being handsy!”
He shot a glare at Wen Yang, but his tone softened a bit. “If you’re running for class leader tomorrow, you should probably have a chat with the classmates first.”
“Yeah, I’ve sorted it out already.” Wen Yang nodded, his smile bright. “Most of the girls in the class are supportive.”
Tsk, being handsome has its perks, huh~
Ning Chu looked Wen Yang up and down, green with envy.
At the moment, Wen Yang was just wearing a pair of shorts, his skin a light tan from being in the sun. His chiseled muscles just barely bulged, boasting a six-pack, and his V-shaped abs created those gorgeous lines that all the fitness posters would love.
He was hefty overall but had a pretty face, reminding Ning Chu of those fitness posters featuring Peng Yuyan from his past life.
So envious! Why couldn’t I have transmigrated as the male lead instead of this cannon fodder…
Even being the villain would be better!
Ning Chu’s gaze shifted to Zhang Shaoqing, who was shirtless.
Although Zhang Shaoqing might not have particularly defined muscles, that face alone could easily make him a social media influencer, even without any actual talents.
And then there’s me…
With skinny arms and legs, I look like a prepubescent boy, even my voice is too androgynous, and my weight barely breaks a hundred.
Just a bit better than Wang Jie, the nerd who ran a few laps and almost lost his life.
Sighing internally about life’s unfairness, Ning Chu found his pajamas and prepared to head to the shower.
However, just as he turned, he saw Zhang Shaoqing grab a pair of underwear and bolt into the bathroom.
“What the heck…”
“That’s just him being a j*rk,” Wen Yang said nonchalantly, leaning against Ning Chu’s bed frame, fiddling with his phone.
“Hey, Ning Chu, could you help me choose?” he asked with a hint of hesitation.
“Choose what?”
“My girlfriend.” He ruffled his short hair in frustration. “Even girls from other classes are adding me and sending pictures, begging me to be their boyfriend.”
With strict parenting, he’d never even held a girl’s hand before college. Now, being chased by so many girls was a little overwhelming.
“……”
Ning Chu could only widen his eyes in disbelief.
“Is there any choice to make? Just go for ALL of them!” Wang Jie chimed in from the side.
Before thinking twice, Ning Chu tossed an empty bottle at Wang Jie. “Shut up!”
What the heck, all of them?
Once Wen Yang gets a taste of this, trying to stop him from sleeping out with girls later on will be a piece of cake!
“No way, I haven’t even talked to girls much; I can’t handle one,” Wen Yang shook his head, groaning. “Just yesterday with Ling Ling, we were eating in the cafeteria, and out of nowhere, she got angry. I can’t figure women out.”
No wonder you promptly agreed to break up with Zhang Shaoqing.
But Ling Ling getting mad? Probably because you didn’t meet her expectations.
After all, she’s a supporting character in this story—most likely, her anger comes from unmet desires.
“What’s the point of women? I’d rather play games.” Ning Chu sneaked in his personal opinion, trying to brainwash Wen Yang. “Look at those games—hundreds of people and millions of dollars spent to create them; aren’t they better than a woman? Playing in duo queues is way more fun than chasing girls!”
Wen Yang stared blankly for a second, then turned to him, “Forget it, playing games with you feels like prison.”
“That’s because I haven’t played much yet!”
A man’s pride in gaming flared up instantly. Even if his stats were 0-16, he could never admit he was bad.
Ning Chu crossed his arms, pouting defiantly. “Just give me a couple of weeks to get familiar, and then I can take you to carry!”
Though this world also had games like LOL and CSGO, he was entirely clueless about the characters. Even with experience from his past life, he’d still have to go through a newbie phase.
“I used to be in Diamond 1,” he mumbled quietly as he opened the game but then sharply lifted his head, squinting at Wen Yang.
Wen Yang finally shifted his gaze away, awkwardly rubbing his nose.
From his angle, he could just glimpse Ning Chu’s delicate, fair collarbone through the loose neckline, and deeper down, there seemed to be a tiny quiver.
“What’s wrong with you?”
Why are you staring at me?
Ning Chu felt uncomfortable all over, and just then, Zhang Shaoqing came in, dripping wet. He grabbed his pajamas and darted out to the balcony, nearly colliding with Zhang Shaoqing.
“Dang!” Zhang Shaoqing was about to yell but saw him bolt out of the dorm, slamming the back door behind him. All he could do was mutter in discontent, “In a hurry to change a sanitary napkin? What the heck, running around the dorm.”
In the bathroom, Ning Chu had already stripped down, standing bare on the tiled floor, staring down at his flat chest, lost in thought.
Definitely a flat chest, but that was in comparison to women.
He clasped his hands over his chest, frowning at the minor pain under the small red bean and that soft feeling.
“I can confirm, something’s definitely happening.”
“Could it be some sort of intersex mutation? Am I secretly a girl?”
But girls don’t develop this fast, right? It’s only been a few days since I ended up like this.
He slightly spread his legs and glanced down.
Speaking of which, he hadn’t seen the little Ning Chu show any signs of spirit since crossing over, not even besides the odd early morning. But that didn’t mean he was completely asexual; sometimes, his mind did fill with inappropriate thoughts and urges.
Still, with the male lead and the villain around, as a side character destined to be devoured by the two, he couldn’t afford to act recklessly.
And who’d do something like that in a dorm, anyway?
“Looks like it really is a punishment that disrupts the plot…”
“Well, that’s totally awful!”
