Trapped in Paradise – Chapter 148

54. Bad News!

1/40

“Who is it?!”

Ning Chu stormed out of the Service Center, fuming. “Next time someone tries to tease you, just shout back at them! Just like you did at the Cafeteria! Fight fire with fire!”

Wen Yang nodded vigorously.

He scratched his head, looking awkwardly innocent, with a blush on his face typical of a young man being teased.

Though he had encountered some bold girls before, being directly invited by one to have a duel with her was a bit too much for him.

It was overwhelming…

As a man, it would be impossible to claim he was entirely unmoved.

Luckily, he had been trained under Ning Chu’s subtle hints and occasionally blatant teasing, and he always kept his guard up around pretty women.

Ning Chu, huffing and puffing ahead, suddenly stopped, almost causing Wen Yang to bump into her.

“What’s wrong?”

Ning Chu didn’t reply; she was staring at her phone, searching for the name “An An” once more.

Still nothing!

There was no character named An An in the plot she had written, not even a side character.

So, An An was just some overly forward girl who couldn’t keep her legs together when she saw a handsome guy?!

No way! The girl’s name was too similar to the slew of side characters in her story, meaning her parents must’ve been lazy too?

“Nothing.” Ning Chu frowned and muttered, “This is a hassle.”

She could only hope An An had given up on Wen Yang; otherwise, dealing with an infatuated passerby girl would be a headache.

She could at least target difficult side characters through the plot. If that side character decided to give up on Wen Yang, she could figure it out through a punishment.

But a passerby? No way to tell what kind of behavior logic that could involve!

God knows whether the passerby was just pretending to give up on Wen Yang, yet lingering in her heart.

“Why’s it a hassle?”

“Um… just don’t go to the Service Center anymore.”

Wen Yang scratched his head, bewildered. “Okay, okay, is that really necessary?”

“Of course, it is! That woman teased you as soon as she saw you! She’s definitely not a wholesome person!”

Under the eaves, Ning Chu moved closer to Wen Yang, waiting for him to open the umbrella so they could go back to the dorm.

No female ghosts this time~

Last time, she had to explain why three guys couldn’t handle a female ghost; this time, no excuses could save her.

After all, she was just a girl now, paired with only one guy and one girl.

Who knew if she was just playing a mental chess game against thin air? Perhaps that ghost hadn’t even settled in the school building yet.

All the way, Ning Chu was pondering how to deal with this overly clingy girl, but after thinking half the time, all she could do was take it as it came.

When they returned to the dorm, the power was back on.

Wen Yang shook off the rain from his shoulders. After a round trip, his clothes were basically soaked through.

“I’m going to take a shower.”

“Okay.”

Ning Chu casually closed and locked the door, glancing down at her wet pant legs, still dripping.

Though she used to run around the dorm in just her legs after a shower, she was a girl now.

Being cautious, she patiently waited for Wen Yang to enter the bathroom before darting to the wardrobe, grabbing a pair of khaki capri pants.

Just as she unbuttoned her jeans, she suddenly turned to the window facing the hallway.

Can’t be too careful!

She rushed over to pull down the curtains, then waited for the sound of water from the bathroom before stripping off her jeans, revealing her delicate, fair legs.

No matter how many times she looked, she was satisfied with her legs.

Unfortunately, they were under her control now…

Her boxers, which had been a bit loose two months ago, now hugged her rear tightly, making it look like she was wearing snug little shorts.

After changing, nothing unexpected happened.

She returned to her computer, lowering her head to continue searching for clues about An An in her story.

Some female side characters didn’t even have names, like the one who was taking a shower in the boys’ dorm bathroom only to have the protagonist burst in on her all of a sudden.

Maybe An An was one of those unnamed females?

With her cute round face, a D-cup bust, and an undefined height…

These criteria were a bit too hard to find!

Some people think novels are meticulously crafted word by word by authors, so naturally, the ones most familiar with them must be the authors.

But Ning Chu would debate that fiercely!

She couldn’t even remember the side characters’ names, forgetting one after writing another. She only had a rough outline of the plots she’d written, much less detailed descriptions of the female characters’ appearances.

In fact, if it weren’t for her being pulled into this story, she wouldn’t even know the antagonist’s name was Zhang Shaoqing.

“Phew… at least I previously organized a table categorizing all the unnamed female side characters.”

After all, Ning Chu worried that she might be one of them.

Given that An An roamed the evening classroom, her attention was first drawn to the ghost-busting shorts.

“A height just over 1.5 meters, with an adorable round face, wearing a red spaghetti strap skirt… nearly identical!”

“But the ghost was terrified of people, always dodging… whereas An An was way too forward.”

After going through the rest of the unnamed female side characters, Ning Chu sighed softly, “Reading this gives me a headache.”

Every time she looked at her own writing, she felt a wave of embarrassment, especially with the awful writing skills from a year or two ago.

If only she could write something edgier now!

“Ning Chu.”

Wen Yang walked into the room, towel in hand, and said, “Next week I might need to take a few days off.”

“Off for what?”

“My uncle is sick and hospitalized; he’s got a small surgery next week, so I need to go back.” He was using the towel to dry his hair, continuing, “The one who used to do all that ghost-chasing when he was younger.”

“Oh him…” Ning Chu had even considered calling Wen Yang’s uncle if she faced a ghost encounter.

“Yeah, he’s always taken care of me since I was a kid, but his health hasn’t been great. He’s only in his forties, but he’s got a whole mess of problems.”

No kidding. Chasing ghosts and demons every day? Of course, that screws you up!

She mentally rolled her eyes, but her spirits were already on edge.

Taking a few days off! What about her plot armor? What if Wen Yang meets a side character in the meantime?!

Before she realized it, she asked, “Can I go with you?”

“Huh?” Wen Yang looked at her, shocked.

Ning Chu’s heart raced, suddenly realizing her words might be misinterpreted, and shook her head in a panic. “No, I just…”

cr*p, how do I explain this?

“Just worried you won’t have enough money…” she blurted out a completely irrelevant excuse, trying to gloss over, “Can’t you not go?”

“Well, it’s not impossible; it’s just a small surgery… but I wouldn’t feel right not going.” Wen Yang hung the towel back up, explaining, “It’s not too far; a few hours on the bus, and I expect I’ll be back in two days.”

“Okay then.”

Ning Chu sighed anxiously, fully pushing An An out of her mind.

This is bad~

Though she’d eventually have to face the reality of Wen Yang not being around, did it have to happen so soon?
