64. Full Up with Anger!
It wasn’t even 6 PM yet, but the sky outside was already a gloomy shade of yellow.
Ning Chu lay listlessly on her desk, utterly uninterested in English, with her current proficiency level probably somewhere below middle school.
She had once burned the midnight oil to pass the Level 4 exam, but the moment she stepped out of the exam room, she had forgotten everything…
Just the thought of having to take the exam again in her sophomore year made her head pound.
“Wen Yang, I’m going to stay at Xinya’s dorm tonight,” Ning Chu poked Wen Yang’s arm. “Just in case I can’t adjust, I can always get out.”
“Sure.”
She was planning to do a trial sleepover, and since Wen Yang was still on campus, if she immediately encountered some creep after leaving him, she could call for help. If things got really messy, she’d just stick to him like glue and refuse to leave, no excuses.
If Wen Yang encountered a creep after taking a break, though, it’d be like the heavens turned their backs on him.
“Be careful tonight. Call me if anything happens.”
“Yep, no worries.”
Ning Chu’s emergency contact was already Wen Yang’s number, so all she had to do was mash the power button like a pro to summon him for help.
She thought everyone should set this up; you never know when a situation might get out of hand.
“Class dismissed!”
As the dismissal bell rang, a cheerful melody played over the loudspeaker, and the teacher finally announced the end of class.
Ning Chu tugged at Wen Yang’s shirt and pointed to the catgirl, Qiao Qiao, behind them, reminding him not to forget their earlier agreement.
“Got it.” Wen Yang started gathering his books and stood up.
He felt a bit anxious as he glanced at Qiao Qiao’s cute face and petite figure, mentally rehearsing the scene that was about to unfold.
It really did feel like he was about to bully a little girl.
Fortunately, he had Ning Chu… but then he turned around and was shocked to see Ning Chu dragging Yan Xinya out in a hurry.
“I’m going to the bathroom!”
“Uh…” He had no choice but to grab Zhang Shaoqing’s shoulder. “You’re coming with me.”
“Why? I haven’t done my event for today!”
“Just a few minutes.”
He weighed his words carefully as he led Zhang Shaoqing toward Qiao Qiao.
As they got closer, Qiao Qiao flashed a bright smile and hopped up to Wen Yang, looking up at him with pure excitement.
That adorable little face made Wen Yang feel guilty.
He knew full well what Qiao Qiao was up to, but hey, she wasn’t like those shameless women who’d practically glue themselves to him.
With them, he could be harsh, but with Qiao Qiao, he just couldn’t bring himself to be mean.
After a moment of deliberation, he finally spoke to the eager eyes of Qiao Qiao, “Uh, I already have a girlfriend.”
“Who? Ning Chu?” Zhang Shaoqing asked, blurted out.
“…”
In the bathroom, Ning Chu was huddled in a stall, pacing back and forth nervously in the cramped space.
Outside the stall, she heard noisy footsteps and conversations—at least seven or eight girls from the sound of it.
Even though the school identified her as a male and she should have gone to the boys’ restroom… if she made any noise in there while facing punishment, she might run into some creep!
In the girls’ restroom, at worst, she’d just face social d*ath, with Yan Xinya there to back her up.
Why hadn’t anything happened yet?!
After five minutes, however, Ning Chu felt absolutely no different in her abdomen.
Could it be that Wen Yang had already been charmed by that catgirl?
But even the male protagonist in a story wouldn’t develop feelings for a flat-chested loli! He only saw Qiao Qiao as a little sister, and let’s be honest, if he hadn’t been woken up a few times by her alarm while sharing a rental, there wouldn’t have been any further developments.
Could it be that Qiao Qiao had actually raised his standards to a poverty f*tish?
Ning Chu glanced down at her modest assets.
Although not very impressive, she was at least a solid A+ level. Sure, she might not compare to most female characters starting at a C, but she definitely wasn’t flat like Qiao Qiao, who was basically a washboard!
That girl wasn’t just flat; she was a steel plate!
“Are you done yet?” Yan Xinya was already urging from outside, “You’re taking forever in there~”
“Um… just give me two more minutes; I’ve got a bit of diarrhea.”
“Diarrhea? Really, is it that time of the month?”
“No!”
“Well, I can smell a little something~”
In front of a dog’s nose, privacy was just a joke.
A slight blush crept onto Ning Chu’s face as she realized that because all her thoughts were on GHS, she was already getting a bit restless before any punishment had even arrived.
Was that weekend’s self-study session what opened the door to her new world…?
As time dragged on, the bathroom was left with only Yan Xinya, who was boredly playing with her tail, and Lily, focused on her phone.
Ning Chu couldn’t hold back any longer. She pushed the stall door open.
“What were you doing in there?” Yan Xinya shrugged her nose.
“Had a stomachache and couldn’t get out.”
She hastily made up an excuse and rushed out.
As soon as she stepped out, she spotted her roommates chatting and laughing with Qiao Qiao not far down the hall, including Wen Yang, who was supposed to sever ties with Qiao Qiao.
Instantly, her bl**d boiled!
“Ning Chu.”
Seeing Ning Chu, Wen Yang strode over, looking slightly guilty as he said, “I, um, took care of it… sort of.”
“Ah?”
Why haven’t I had any reaction at all?!
Ning Chu looked at Wen Yang, puzzled: “How did you handle it?”
Just then, Qiao Qiao bounced over, “Big brother~ where are you going? Didn’t we say we’d have dinner together?”
Big brother?! We’re having dinner together?!
What the heck! Is that your solution? Isn’t this just following the plot along?
Ning Chu’s eyes widened in disbelief, staring at the innocent-looking little brat, struggling to understand how things had escalated to this point.
Wasn’t the plan to give that catgirl a stern talking-to and send her away?!
Her lips moved, but she swallowed her doubts and anger.
Guess she’d better give Wen Yang some face out here…
“It’s fine. We talked everything out,” Zhang Shaoqing swaggered up to them, grinning, “Qiao Qiao just likes listening to our English teacher’s class; Wen Yang thought she liked him, so he rushed over to reject her~”
“Dying of laughter over here!”
In the face of Ning Chu’s glare that could eat a person alive, Zhang Shaoqing’s smile froze.
Wait a minute, you’re the real traitor here!
What is this, a rat in my territory?!
With a naïve grin, Qiao Qiao nodded vigorously, “Exactly!”
That juvenile face and flat figure made her look like a ten-year-old girl; her cuteness and apparent innocence were kryptonite to men.
But Ning Chu knew full well that this girl was already grown up! A college junior, even! A year older than Wen Yang.
Ning Chu couldn’t dare act jealous in front of Zhang Shaoqing or Wang Jie—she just scowled, gripping Yan Xinya with her left hand and pulling Lily with her right, heading straight for the stairs.
“Hey! Aren’t you going to the cafeteria for dinner?”
“Not going!”
I’m stuffed full of anger!
