Trapped in Paradise – Chapter 16

016. Wen Yang Disappeared!

Zhang Shaoqing’s family situation is quite complicated.

Although the book never mentions it, Ning Chu has gotten a little understanding of his family after spending time together.

His parents are divorced, and he lives with his mother, who has a strong controlling nature. She calls him every night to check his schedule, even dictating what he should eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner like she’s planning a military operation.

Both his parents come from business families, so he’s never short on money, but his mother’s excessive control has become a mental burden.

After taking a shower, when Ning Chu returned to the dorm from the balcony, he found Zhang Shaoqing had already left.

“He went back?”

Wang Jie brushed past him with some clothes and answered while hurrying to shower, “He just left two minutes ago.”

“Oh, I see…”

Ning Chu mumbled, tossing his worn clothes into the laundry bin. He walked to the dormitory mirror, grabbed a dry towel, and vigorously rubbed his still-damp hair.

Looking in the mirror, he saw himself in a flimsy silk pajamas, just enough to keep him covered. His bangs just brushed his eyebrows, and the hair at his temples was a tad too long; maybe he should get a haircut this weekend.

After his shower, his fair and clean face glowed, reflecting the room’s light, almost sparkling. He had an oval face with a touch of baby fat on his cheeks, and his features were charmingly delicate, but a bit too juvenile.

Though he was in his first year of college and over eighteen by ID, his looks seemed to fit more of a younger boy. Having seen the class’s loli girls with their youthful faces and curvy bodies, he had come to accept his boyish look.

Every type of handsome guy and pretty girl exists in the world of the Little Emperor Wen.

In a few years, he believed his looks would rival those of the male protagonist.

Satisfied with his face, but when he looked down his neck, he noticed his delicately defined collarbone and the notably prominent little “red beans” on his chest.

The area around the “red beans” had a slight swell too; he could feel a noticeable softness when he touched them in the shower.

Just a week ago, they were still tiny little “red beans”…

After completely ruining his first plotline, he gained some curves up front, and they seemed to be growing.

“Continuing to ruin the plot might make me look more like a girl?”

“Or even turn me into a girl…”

Ning Chu had guessed this already, yet he was reluctant to choose between “becoming a girl and being teased” and “becoming a girl.”

If he could avoid it, he’d rather not have either.

“Ning Chu, are you using the washing machine?” Wen Yang poked his head in from the balcony, “I don’t feel like doing laundry this weekend.”

“Sure, I guess.”

In the dormitory building, there’s a hot water room and laundry room every two floors, yet Ning Chu was never fond of using the shared coin-operated washing machine.

It just felt dirty in a weird way.

“My clothes are in the bucket; can you help me carry them down? I have coins in my drawer.”

Ning Chu typically didn’t refuse requests from the world’s prince, so he agreed with a nod. He picked up two buckets of dirty clothes, grabbed some coins, and stood in front of the dormitory door ready to leave, but suddenly paused, looking down at his undeniably prominent little “red beans” and the small hills they created.

In the dorm, it was fine; even though his roommates would steal a glance or two and tease him, they were familiar faces.

But out there, if people stared, just imagining that scene made him feel embarrassed.

He quickly grabbed a coat from his closet to throw over himself before heading to the laundry room, casually scouting around the dorm for any characters related to his current plot.

The building had quite a few handsome guys, and he spotted a girl openly on a date with her boyfriend in the hallway, without a care.

Trying to find characters from the book based solely on appearances without knowing names was nearly impossible.

As he entered the laundry room, his gaze was immediately drawn to a middle-aged man crouching by the washing machine, tinkering with a wrench.

It was… the dorm supervisor!

Ning Chu’s mouth twitched, and he desperately tried to shift his gaze away from the dorm supervisor.

This guy had some connection to a side plot in the novel…

But he had to admit, the world of the Little Emperor Wen is absurd. This guy, clearly in his forties or fifties, was surprisingly muscular, with bulging arms and a well-built physique. His face showed signs of age yet was handsome, brimming with the charm of a mature man.

Maybe this is what the “uncle” fans meant by “uncle”?

The character from the side plot shouldn’t have anything to do with Ning Chu, but he still wondered if there was a way to ruin the supervisor’s happy life.

Whatever the case, he felt like he was clashing with the “god” who tossed him into this world.

He dumped his dirty clothes haphazardly into the washing machine, inserted the coins, and confirmed the machine was indeed functioning. Once again, he turned to look at the dorm supervisor.

And their eyes met.

“…”

Ning Chu quickly lowered his head, shifting his gaze away and hurriedly attempted to leave.

After all, his thoughts were consumed with wanting to ruin the dorm supervisor’s happy life.

“Wait! Which dorm are you in?”

Just as he was about to slip out the door, the deep voice behind him called out.

His scalp tingled, and he instinctively replied, “203, Ning Chu.”

“Oh…” The dorm supervisor paused, recalling that remarkably tiny freshman from orientation.

He had seen plenty of handsome boys and pretty girls but not many eighteen-year-old boys, so Ning Chu left an impression.

He eyed Ning Chu up and down, taking in his slender frame and delicate face, which at first glance looked girlish, but just enough masculine charm peeked through between his brows.

“Seeing me is like seeing a ghost,” the supervisor muttered as he continued to fix the washing machine. “What are you guilty about? I thought someone was sneaking a girl in here.”

Ning Chu stiffened under the supervisor’s scrutiny, forcing a laugh. When he noticed the supervisor had turned his attention elsewhere, he hurriedly exited the laundry room.

Could he report that there’s a girl who snuck into the boys’ dorm upstairs?

And feeding dog food in front of everyone in the hallway!

Slamming the dorm door behind him, Ning Chu returned to his desk, propping his chin on one hand, nervously biting his nails as he listed out the problems he faced.

The scummy instructor Han Jingye, who had already planted Wen Yang as a spy—patience is key.

The dorm supervisor’s storyline was one of mutual attraction, but if given the chance, he hoped no plot from any novel would manifest in this world.

The antagonist, Zhang Shaoqing, was an unpredictable factor, but he wasn’t too bad for now.

As for the protagonist, Wen Yang… Hey?

Where is Wen Yang?

Ning Chu suddenly realized, turning to look at Wen Yang’s desk, then jumped up, bouncing to peek over at Wen Yang’s bed.

“What are you doing?” Wang Jie, focused on his game, was startled and turned to ask.

“Where’s Wen Yang?!”

Ning Chu’s tone was frantic, like a headless chicken, anxiously searching the dorm for any trace of Wen Yang.

Wang Jie, utterly confused, scratched his head: “He just went out.”

“Out for what?!”

“How am I supposed to know?!”

What the heck! He feigned asking me to help with laundry while secretly sneaking off!
