92. Lily’s Trouble
“Can you help me with an English dictation?”
“Ah~ I’m done for! I only remember these few words from what I memorized a couple of days ago!”
In the self-study room at noon, Ning Chu was pulling her hair out in despair, wailing, “I clearly memorized over twenty words! I even copied them out ten times!”
Stupid English is ruining my youth!
What’s even scarier is that this university demands a Level 4 English certification to graduate!
In her last life, she fought tooth and nail with Level 4, using guesswork and last-minute cramming, barely scraping through after several tries.
And after passing, she completely forgot English—now her level is probably worse than that of a middle schooler.
Wen Yang sighed helplessly from the side, “How could you remember anything with just rote memorization?”
“It’s too hard~”
Ning Chu flopped her head down on the desk, staring unhappily at her English textbook.
Today, she was feeling pretty good—she wasn’t dozing off in class, and she didn’t even have the urge to nap at noon. But she could barely drag herself out of bed that morning.
This contrast quickly reminded her of this morning’s experiment.
Sure enough, breakfast milk was useful…
Is this what it means to be a succubus?
Succubi are supposed to be especially sensitive; under normal circumstances, they’d surrender in three to five minutes, feeling utterly drained, and just lying down for a few minutes would knock them out. But rumors say they are like juice extractors, getting more and more energized, sucking the life out of men.
A different form of absorbing “yang energy,” perhaps?
The experiment yielded results, but Ning Chu was reluctant to put this discovery to use.
Too risqué! I can’t accept it!
How is this any different from the royal narratives in my books? It’s only missing the needles.
Wen Yang clearly thought her enthusiasm was quite stimulating. What should have been an exhausting ordeal ended within minutes today.
This was why they both managed to catch the bus just in time for class—no tardiness!
“You’re able to think of such weird things just by looking at the book,” Wen Yang noticed the blush on her cheeks.
“I am not! I’m just hot!”
As Ning Chu said this, she removed her scarf and tossed it aside.
She had completely given up on English and pulled out another book. “Teach me this.”
“That will cost you for after-school tutoring.”
“I’m not paying!”
This morning’s boldness and that overwhelming sense of embarrassment had exhausted her by this point.
Her dignity was shattered!
She had already fallen into the abyss of femininity! There was no going further down!
Ning Chu shook her head fervently and turned her gaze toward Lily, who was sitting across from her.
“Lily~ teach me~”
“Okay.”
That’s right! Lily is the best!
Ning Chu clutched her book and eagerly abandoned Wen Yang, scampering over.
“I can’t solve this problem, explain it to me.”
Lily glanced over and promptly wrote the answer on a scrap piece of paper. “Do it this way.”
“Not that, what’s the thought process?”
“……”
However, Lily had little tutoring experience, and she usually kept quiet outside, her teaching skills clearly not matching up to Wen Yang’s.
After a brief ten minutes of teaching, Lily’s focus shifted. “Are you coming to my house during winter break?”
“Your place, huh…”
Ning Chu recalled that game console and felt a bit tempted, but memories of those ghastly toys made her feel a little anxious.
While she had gradually warmed up to small explosive toys with Wen Yang’s guidance, Lily’s collection still felt a bit outrageous.
“Won’t your parents be home during the winter break?”
“They’ll be back before and after the New Year.”
“Eh, that’s rough… So what did you do before when you didn’t live at school?”
“I had a nanny.”
“……”
Is this what it’s like to come from a rich family?!
Ning Chu didn’t know whether to envy, be jealous, or sympathize; her expression was rather complicated.
“Lily! I like you!”
“!!!”
Out of nowhere, a loud horn blared from outside the self-study room.
The previously quiet room exploded into chatter as students buzzed with excitement, with classmates who knew Lily quickly directing their attention toward her.
Ning Chu jumped, looking out of the classroom in a bit of panic. After listening for a moment, she tentatively asked, “Sounds like it’s coming from below the teaching building?”
She turned to look at the succubus beside her; Lily’s face was cold, expressionless as she returned to her reading.
“Who is that? Blasting a horn to confess to you?”
Lily maintained her ice queen demeanor: “Some idiot I don’t know.”
For the first time, Ning Chu heard a curse slip from Lily’s lips, and it nearly made her burst out laughing.
She appeared calm on the outside, but I bet inside she was absolutely fuming, right?
Curious, she dashed out of the classroom, leaning over the railing to peek downstairs.
A string of lights formed a heart shape on the ground, and in the center stood a dapper guy, dressed sharply as if he had just come from a corporate meeting.
“That’s from the next class,” Wen Yang added, joining her side. “I’ve seen him during big lectures; he’s the class leader from next door. We’ve crossed paths a few times, and he’s pretty nice.”
“Oh~ he’s quite handsome~”
Wen Yang squinted slightly, quickly changing his tune. “He’s pretty much a j*rk; he changes girlfriends every few weeks and has a few girls on the side.”
“Figures—the handsome ones are always the jerks~”
“That has nothing to do with me,” he instantly distanced himself from Ning Chu’s generalization. “I’m a nice guy; not a j*rk at all.”
Ning Chu shot him a playful glance, the smile on her face making Wen Yang feel uneasy.
“Hey, Lily, where are you going?”
She suddenly noticed Lily leaving the classroom, jogging ahead.
“Are you going downstairs to respond to him?”
“Not going.”
“Then what are you going for?”
Without a word, Lily walked straight into the bathroom, grabbed a bucket from the corner, and started filling it with water.
Ning Chu immediately understood her thoughts: “Do you hate that guy that much?”
“He’s a pervert.”
“How so?”
Lily paused for a moment, her expression faltering as a faint blush crept onto her face.
She stammered, “It’s just, he introduced himself by shaking it…”
“You check this out.” She pulled out her phone and shared the chat records between herself and the j*rk with Ning Chu.
“Could it be that…?” Ning Chu furrowed her brows, recalling some not-so-friendly experiences online. “Did that pervert send you those kinds of photos?”
“……”
She stopped with the wild guesses and decided to read the chat records between Lily and the j*rk.
Um… how to put it?
The reality was a bit absurd and didn’t match her imagination of Lily being harassed.
Ning Chu’s expression turned slightly weird as she looked back at Lily, who was increasingly flushed.
“I, uh, used a fake profile…” She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, awkward and embarrassed, turning her head aside. “I don’t know how he found me.”
So, Lily is pretty open online, huh?
Engaging in a little online flirtation!
Since she’s a succubus… this makes sense.
She was flirty while using a fake profile, but once her real identity was revealed, those once ambiguous chat records became the j*rk’s confessions and an invitation to team up, causing drama in real life.
Lily was bold online, fully embodying the succubus vibe, but when it came to reality, she turned into a shy little lamb.
“Looks like you’re in over your head~” Ning Chu teased, nudging Lily’s shoulder. “Does Xinya know?”
“……”
