302. Strategy
Early in the morning, Ning Chu opened her eyes full of energy.
It was only six o’clock, and the room was still dark. She stretched her limbs and sat up.
After a little shiver, the remnants of sleepiness vanished completely.
Sure enough, even after a late-night snack last night, and only about five hours of sleep, she still felt wide awake.
She couldn’t sense any fatigue or drowsiness at all.
But her cheeks seemed to ache a bit. She rubbed them lightly and shot a disgruntled glare at Wen Yang.
Last night, all she had was a simple late-night snack while Wen Yang, completely exhausted, fell sound asleep.
She highly doubted he even remembered what happened last night.
Ning Chu curled her legs up, resting her chin on her knees, staring at Wen Yang with big doe eyes.
As a succubus, drinking milk last night didn’t bring her any joy, leaving her dreaming about nothing but men.
“Just because you feel good doesn’t mean you can ignore me.”
“Jerkwad!”
Before she knew it, she was leaning towards her succubus side more and more.
Just like characters in Little Emperor Wen who eagerly drank milk… although there was a purpose behind it, it wasn’t a purely innocent desire, yet thinking back on it made her feel so embarrassed.
Last night was definitely a case of being led astray.
What was scarier than her embarrassment was the fact that she didn’t feel much regret or resistance.
Had she gotten used to falling into female degeneracy?
Back when she merely kissed Wen Yang, she would mope around for ages, too embarrassed to even look at him.
Now she actively had a late-night snack and was surprisingly still unsatisfied instead of being grateful that Wen Yang was asleep.
Seeing Wen Yang in his sleep shivering slightly, she pulled the blanket over him.
For some reason, she woke up to find the blanket all around her when she clearly remembered a half-and-half situation before bed.
He must’ve given her his half to keep her warm… or, more likely, she accidentally stole it. Her brother had once had a falling out with her over similar scenarios; in the end, they solved it by each having their own blanket.
Ning Chu gently swished her love-tail and got out of bed, heading to the bathroom to freshen up.
It was still early, and she planned to write a bit before turning on the light to review her exam material when Wen Yang got up.
But the sound of her washing up woke Wen Yang.
He walked to the bathroom door, pushed it slightly open, and yawned, saying, “You’re up pretty early today.”
Ning Chu, embarrassed and annoyed, threw a roll of toilet paper at him. “Close the door!”
“Oh… how long will you take? I need to use the toilet.”
“Wait!”
“You’re not even closing the door yourself…”
Though they had spent a lot of time together, Ning Chu still couldn’t accept Wen Yang seeing her go to the bathroom.
A moment later, she angrily pushed the door open and glared at Wen Yang. “From now on, when I’m in the bathroom, you have to knock first!”
“Okay, okay.” Wen Yang scratched his head and stepped aside.
He didn’t really understand what Ning Chu was embarrassed about… after all, he had seen every inch of her countless times and had even explored with his own hands.
“What do you want for breakfast?”
“Let’s just eat at the school cafeteria?” Ning Chu walked a few steps before turning her head to remind him, “Please don’t make a mess! Remember to clean up!”
“Sure… but I can’t control that.”
She nodded in understanding and suggested, “How about you sit down when you go?”
“Let’s skip that? I’ll definitely remember to clean.”
It was perfectly normal for guys to have a little trouble aiming, especially when they first wake up.
When Ning Chu was still a guy, her mother would scold her for it, but now here she was caring about it herself.
After writing about a thousand words of her novel, around a little past seven, the two left the rental apartment, took a bus, and headed to the school cafeteria for breakfast.
The huge cafeteria was mostly empty. As soon as they walked in, Ning Chu spotted Wang Jie and Zhang Shaoqing.
“How was your date last night?! What time did you get back?”
She ran over eagerly, curiosity written all over her face.
“Didn’t I tell you? The date went smoothly. I even took Qian Qian out for a late-night snack.”
“You don’t look like you had a great time, though~”
“Then why the heck are you asking?!” Zhang Shaoqing cursed, “d*mn! I hardly spoke two sentences to her for hours!”
Wen Yang bought some breakfast and joined them at the table, handing Ning Chu a soy milk and meat bun before asking, “Didn’t you chat with her at all?”
“Chat? Hell no! She ignored me like I was invisible!”
Ning Chu bit into her meat bun, suppressing a laugh as she suggested, “Didn’t I say Qian Qian probably likes guys who are a bit more assertive? Try being a little less of a doormat with her?”
“You want me to get hated? Can you not throw me under the bus with such terrible ideas?”
“You know you’re annoying, right?”
She smirked. “At least you have some self-awareness! So why not change?”
“Because I like it!”
Zhang Shaoqing’s attempts to woo his crush weren’t going well at all~
Ning Chu worried this guy was getting too deep into his feelings. If it failed, he’d probably end up crying like crazy. So she advised, “How about you just give it up?”
“Not a chance!”
“But winter break is coming in a few days~ You won’t have time.”
Wen Yang nodded, adding, “Why don’t you prepare for next semester instead?”
“Stop bothering me with useless suggestions,” Zhang Shaoqing grumbled. “Just give me back my spray.”
With a little press of that spray aimed at Qian Qian’s face, he could score a beautiful catgirl wife who fit his tastes perfectly.
Ning Chu perked up, suddenly awake: “You’re thinking of that again! You should…”
“Alright, alright, no lecturing! You’re more annoying than my mom. I was just joking!”
She frowned, silent for a moment before pulling out her phone to check a short entry from Qian Qian’s development diary.
“Shaoqing, I’ve got some intel for you, whether you choose to listen is up to you.”
To prevent Zhang Shaoqing from genuinely going down a wrong path, Ning Chu had to spill some strategy.
You know, it wasn’t just hypnosis and x-ray vision; he could easily stumble upon other props, and who knows what more twisted things might come next…
“What’s up?”
Ning Chu glanced at the book’s setting and said, “That girl likes strong and bold types, so you definitely can’t be too eager or clingy like you were yesterday.”
“??? ”
“She… she…”
She wanted to say she was into some embarrassing outdoor exposure play, but couldn’t bring herself to say it, especially since that was only done under duress in the book and shouldn’t count as genuine preference.
Her cheeks flushed as she continued, “She likes fruits, especially durian. You should buy her some nice ones.”
“Should I get some Musang King durian?”
“I don’t know about durian; don’t ask me… Oh, and watch out. The guy she likes is a total j*rk, so keep that in mind, don’t let him swoop in.”
Zhang Shaoqing looked at her skeptically. “How do you know all this? I haven’t even seen you talk to Qian Qian.”
Ning Chu felt Wen Yang’s gaze toward her turn suspicious, probably linking it to the novel’s content.
Not daring to say more, she had no way to explain.
She put her phone down and shot him a glance. “It’s all just hearsay, whether you believe it or not is up to you!”
