332. The Female Protagonist
“I actually became the protagonist of Little Emperor Wen…”
After taking a shower and thoroughly cleaning herself, Ning Chu emerged from the bathroom with a flat stomach instead of her previously slightly bulging one, now clad in her underwear pajamas and feeling utterly lifeless.
To be honest, her mind was still a bit foggy.
It seemed that Wen Yang had been a bit too intense yesterday, leaving her brain and body in a state of insufficient memory due to an unprecedented level of stimulation.
She sat down in a chair, propped her chin up with her hands, and stared longingly at Wen Yang, who was still sound asleep.
And then there was the disaster of the bed—the sheets and quilt soaked in water, looking like a scene from a crime drama.
Her face flushed uncontrollably as she furtively glanced to the side.
Thank goodness she wasn’t tossed around to a point of no return or sent to the hospital by 120.
She still couldn’t wrap her head around how it all happened; it was too terrifying…
And there were no signs of injury, just some hickey marks causing a slight ache, teasing her nerves with their subtle sensations.
So this is what it’s like to be a succubus!
But even the succubus got overwhelmed by Wen Yang—that’s the combat power of a Little Emperor Wen protagonist?
Suddenly, her phone on the bedside table lit up and started vibrating.
Ning Chu froze for a moment, then hurriedly jumped up and ran to the bed to grab her phone, and sure enough, the caller ID read “Mom.”
Her heart raced with a mix of dread and guilt, making her reluctant to answer the call.
She hesitated, and after a solid half-minute, she steeled herself and picked up the phone.
“Ning Chu, where have you been?”
Her mother’s voice crackled with restrained anger from the other end, leaving Ning Chu flustered.
“You were supposed to keep an eye on Ning Xin, but what do you do? Run off by yourself after ten… off to find Wen Yang again, I bet?”
She opened her mouth to protest, but her mother seemed to know her every move. She must have sold her out, that little cat of hers.
“You stayed out all night! It’s 7 AM and you’re still not home.”
Her mother sighed, sounding tired. “What kind of loser likes you, anyways?!”
Big deal!
No, it’s gentle!
Wen Yang was practically a beast last night, but he still managed to restrain his impulses around her, carefully not letting her feel any pain… though once they both got carried away, all bets were off.
Ning Chu glanced at Wen Yang, who was covered in bite marks from her—a feast of dentition that was one bad dental plan away from a new trend.
The hazy memories from last night gradually sharpened.
She instinctively touched her abdomen, and feeling shy only made her face burn hotter.
So, those exaggerated descriptions in Little Emperor Wen are actually true… or at least true for a succubus and a protagonist of a romantic novel.
“What time will you be back?”
Her mother’s voice jolted her from her memories. Blushing fiercely, she stammered, “Uh… in the evening?”
“In the evening?!”
“I-I have a few things to take care of.”
I need to wash the sheets and take a few more showers to scrub off that sweet scent from my body, or my mom might catch on to something.
“Get home early! You’re out there messing around with boys every day.” After her mother complained, she suddenly switched tones, exclaiming, “My son can’t even survive without a man these days~!”
“Mom…”
Ning Chu felt a surge of embarrassment kick in; she couldn’t even lift her head.
Sure, maybe she did let the black bean slip through her fingers last night, but did she deserve to be hit with mom guilt like this?!
Even if her mom was speaking the truth…
The call ended, and she sighed, feeling utterly defeated.
She was a bit regretful, but the bone-deep feeling from last night left her craving more; just a flutter of memories had her parched.
But she worried it might break something… though her body held up, her mind seemed to be heading down the path of a legitimate succubus breakdown.
Compared to that, her little toy felt like child’s play.
“Up so early?” Wen Yang stretched lazily as he propped himself up.
“…”
Just casting a glance at Wen Yang made Ning Chu shyly divert her gaze, avoiding eye contact. After a moment, she whispered, “Are you feeling better?”
“Yup.”
“That’s good…”
Wen Yang offered an apologetic smile. “How about you? I may have gone a bit… uh, overboard yesterday.”
“I’m fine.”
In truth, she was feeling great.
Admittedly, she hadn’t slept for long, but she had zero drowsiness.
“Ouch, my shoulder really hurts.” Wen Yang looked down at the bite marks on his shoulder, gritting his teeth as he threw off the covers and got up. “Ning Chu, there should be Band-Aids in the desk drawer; could you grab one for me?”
He didn’t hear any movement and turned to Ning Chu, only to find the little succubus with her head down, nervously fiddling with the heart on the tip of her tail, her ears blazing red.
“Still so shy.”
“No, I’m not.”
“You’re so stubborn.”
“Really, I’m not!”
Ning Chu was worried that just looking at Wen Yang’s muscular build with that “alpha male” waist might trigger memories of last night, and she couldn’t help but suppress her urge to exercise in the morning.
That would be way too outrageous! Last night was her first time! She couldn’t let him think she was left wanting!
“I’ll get it myself.”
“Quick, put on some clothes.”
“I’ll shower first, then gotta wash the quilt… what time is it?”
She glanced at the clock. “It’s 7:30. You’re going to be late for work.”
Wen Yang paused, hastily pulling on a pair of shorts as he mumbled, heading toward the bathroom to wash up. “I hardly slept, you know…”
Wait! Just how late did you keep me up last night?!
Ning Chu shot a glare at Wen Yang in frustration, then stood up to tidy the sheets and quilt.
The first floor of their rental apartment had two coin-operated washing machines. Technically, she should’ve cleaned the stuff there, but guilt gnawed at her, worrying that someone might catch wind of it…
“Wen Yang, could you go downstairs to buy a bucket?”
“What do you need a bucket for?”
“To wash the sheets and quilt. I’m worried that if I take them down, uhm… someone might notice.”
Wen Yang looked at her oddly, pausing in silence for a moment before deciding not to spill the harsh truth.
The sound insulation isn’t great in this rental; probably the entire building knows by now. Plus, the neighbors were probably awake, cursing in the hallway at their little midnight ruckus.
Fortunately, no one knew it was the two of them… otherwise, even if Wen Yang had thick skin, he’d have to consider switching apartments.
“I’ll handle it; you just get some rest.” Wen Yang couldn’t let Ning Chu do the housework, still a bit concerned, he asked, “Did you get hurt? Is anything sore?”
He knew his own stamina from last night, and Ning Chu was a first-timer.
“N-no, I’m fine.” Ning Chu stammered in response.
She needed a moment; while the pain wasn’t severe, the acheaffected her walking gait.
“By the way!” Suddenly, Ning Chu jolted awake, nervously glancing at Wen Yang again. “You need to go to the pharmacy later!”
“It’s been a while; I’m not sure if the medicine still works…”
“I don’t want to get pregnant!”
Wen Yang immediately caught on. “Okay, I’ll go right away!”
