353. Lily’s Family
A man and a woman stood silently on one side of the living room, heads throbbing as they stared at the girl sprawled haphazardly on the sofa.
If it weren’t for the three girls’ clothes sprawled all over, and the absence of any males in the house, they might have thought their daughter had organized a wild party.

Underneath her long skirt, her tail was gripped tightly by Yan Xinya, who cradled it like it was a cherished stuffed toy.

Lily groaned, clutching her aching head as she sat up in a daze. Suddenly, she froze, catching a glimpse of a familiar figure out of the corner of her eye.
With a jolt, she jumped up and quickly turned to the side of the living room where her parents were looking at her with expressions that screamed “What on earth?”

“What’s up~ Lily~”
Yan Xinya, awakened by Lily’s abrupt movements, yawned and rolled over, only to end up wedged between the sofa and the coffee table.
“Hey? You good?”
She lay there without making a sound, with no intention of getting up, and raised her arm to demand, “Another bottle, please!”
Lily panic-kicked Yan Xinya’s backside twice.
Don’t embarrass me in front of my parents!
“Your friend?”
“Uh… my college roommate.”

She stood up, shooting a furious glare at Yan Xinya, and then tiptoed to follow her parents.
That left Ning Chu and Yan Xinya alone in the living room, both heaving a sigh of relief.
“Seriously, I hate surprises like this~” Yan Xinya slumped back against the sofa, “Lily said her parents wouldn’t be back until two days before New Year’s Eve, and they arrive so many days early!”
“If we hadn’t been drinking, it wouldn’t have been a problem. Talk about embarrassing…,” Ning Chu sighed dramatically, then perked up and whispered excitedly to the Wolf Girl, “Did you notice? Lily’s parents don’t look anything like her~”
“Didn’t you know? Lily’s adopted.”
“You guys never told me!”
Yan Xinya gave Ning Chu a look that screamed “duh.” “How else would you explain how they raised such a reserved, quirky succubus?”
“Reserved…”
“You’ve got your quirks too,” she muttered. “But considering how late her development has been, it’s understandable. Besides, she’s making up for it now; she’s a true-blue succubus.”

Ning Chu turned away, feeling like the Wolf Girl’s words were piercing right through her heart like daggers.
