391. A Good Ghost
On the first day of school, most students weren’t really in the mood to attend classes. The classroom was chaotic, with students playing on their phones, gaming, and chatting away, drowning out the voice of the teacher.
Even Wen Yang looked worried, completely zoned out from the lesson.
Ning Chu leaned in closer and whispered, “What do we do now? Aren’t we giving up on the class leader position?”
“I’ll go with you to the office later. Just keep Black Bean’s fluff ball safe and don’t lose it; that female succubus is terrified of that thing,” he replied.
An An’s storyline was already ruined, but that meant the female ghost was completely out of the plot now, and God knows what ridiculous stunt could happen next.
“Better than dealing with the female ghost every day,” Wen Yang nodded, “Plus, I still have to hand in the collected student IDs to her.”
“Quiet! Quiet!”
The teacher finally snapped. He slammed his hands on the desk, yelling with fury, and the classroom fell silent for a brief moment.
Ning Chu jumped, quickly straightening up with her arms crossed on the desk, looking as innocent as a little elementary student.
Sitting in the front row, her big, round eyes darted around nervously.
Hmm? Why was Lily’s face so red?
It was only then that she noticed Lily, expressionless, with her head down, beet-red.
Catching her gaze, Lily glanced over with those doe-like eyes but quickly gritted her teeth, silently doodling again in her textbook.
Ning Chu took a peek at Wen Yang’s lower half and confirmed the situation.
Just like Lily~
Her willpower is rock solid~
If she didn’t often find herself in similar situations, she’d think Lily was merely unwell.
Ning Chu couldn’t help but snicker quietly, but soon started to fret about her own predicament.
In a public setting, Lily could keep a straight face and even stand tall without a care. But Ning Chu definitely couldn’t manage that!
Even back then, she would buckle under pressure, laying her head on the desk gasping for breath. Now, after tasting what men had to offer, her reactions would be even more pronounced. It’s possible she might even lose her mind in class, pouncing on Wen Yang without shame…
Oh no! That would be more than just social d*ath!
Wait!
This situation feels eerily familiar~
In Little Emperor Wen, there was a similar plot in the short story where the male protagonist noticed Lily dealing with her situation in class. She could have easily held back her impulses but ended up being teased by him, reduced to tears with her sanity shattered, and the two ended up secretly having a double date in class.
It wasn’t just in class; there were libraries, buses, cinemas, and even outings where they snuck in tiny hidden toys while dining out.
While those moments felt thrilling to write, the adrenaline rush of sneaking around in public drives the excitement!
But no matter how flexible Ning Chu’s bottom line was, she could never do such a thing!
Thankfully, Wen Yang had no interest in Lily; unfortunately, Ning Chu might end up being the female lead in that storyline.
Wen Yang had mentioned multiple times wanting to recreate the plot…
Ning Chu’s gaze at Wen Yang shifted slightly; who knows, one day he might just pull something on her.
“What’s wrong?” Wen Yang looked down, misunderstanding her expression and awkwardly explained, “I have no idea why… I seriously wasn’t thinking about anything weird.”
He tugged down his coat, trying to hide his reaction below.
“Pervert…”
“Isn’t that your problem?”
After spending so much time with the little succubus, Wen Yang knew full well that succubi’s pheromones were an irresistible poison for guys: “It’s definitely because you’re too close to me.”
“Ugh~”
Around ten past ten, the class bell rang, and the teacher heaved a sigh of relief, grabbing his materials and making a beeline for the door. The students erupted into chaos, all rushing to escape.
Lily was back to normal, but Yan Xinya was still whispering teasingly in her ear.
“We only have this one class in the morning. This afternoon is PE and career planning.”
Wen Yang checked the schedule and asked, “What do you feel like eating for lunch?”
“I saw that the cafeteria opened a new fast-food joint this morning… let’s check if it’s open.”
Zhang Shaoqing suddenly leaned in, “Hey! Ning Chu, wanna go out for dinner tonight? I’ll treat!”
“Not going.”
“Seriously?! You’re skipping the dorm dinner on the first day? Just a meal and then karaoke! Plus, the little sister will drink with you…”
Ning Chu pointed at Qian Qian waiting in the hallway.
Zhang Shaoqing’s expression fell, “Fine, next time then.”
He sighed dramatically, quickly swapping to a smile as he headed towards Qian Qian in the hallway.
“Ning Chu, let’s go.”
“Okay.”
Ning Chu hurried to catch up with Wen Yang, jogging behind him, “Slow down!”
Wen Yang immediately slowed his pace, teasing, “With those little legs of yours, you won’t make it in time for anything!”
“Where are they short?! Based on proportion, my legs are pretty long, okay? Aren’t you just a bit taller?”
“Sure, sure.”
As they bickered, they reached the fourth floor of the teaching building, searching for the office of the female ghost based on the room number on the door.
The closer they got to the female ghost’s office, the air grew increasingly cold and eerie.
“Why do I feel like we’re like those characters in horror movies who d*e in the first episode?”
Wen Yang scanned the area, looking for a weapon of sorts.
“Don’t be dramatic; it’s just a succubus, not a vengeful ghost,” Ning Chu murmured. “And it’s daytime; nothing should happen, right?”
She seemed calm, but when she reached the door of office 404, her heart raced with cold flashes.
Wait a minute, this room number isn’t very lucky, is it?
Two deaths, and 404 stands for ‘not found’, right?
She wasn’t really going to end up in here with Wen Yang, becoming a pair of star-crossed ghosts? Or watching helplessly as her boyfriend got sucked dry by the female ghost?
Ning Chu instinctively took a step back, nervously hiding behind Wen Yang.
Wen Yang felt a bit nervous too, but with his girl behind him, a man shouldn’t hide behind a woman.
He hesitated, lifting his hand, just about to knock when a chill breeze swept by, pushing the door open slightly.
Goosebumps immediately covered him, a cold sweat forming on his skin.
Wen Yang instinctively glanced back and saw Ning Chu had retreated a few meters, ready to bolt at any moment.
“Hey, my short legs are justified for running a bit, right?”
“Justified or not?”
Suddenly, they both jumped and turned sharply toward the hallway, seeing Instructor An An emerging from the restroom with a bewildered expression.
“What’s with the ghostly faces?” An An said, exasperated. “Am I really that scary?”
“You’re the ghost!”
Ning Chu quickly zipped behind Wen Yang, peeking out cautiously while keeping an eye on An An.
Better to ride the coattails of the main character’s aura!
“Honestly, you two crack me up,” An An rolled her eyes, striding toward the office. “I have a real job, a stable career, and I’m a good ghost, not a man-eater!”
“I’m super nice too; sometimes I even help little boys who are feeling down. Everyone says I’m a good ghost~”
