039. Ning Chu’s Increasing Beauty
“Bar, huh? I’ve never been to one. I heard the drinks there are super expensive.”
“Wen Yang, you went there last week. Tell Wang Jie about it.”
“How would I know? It was just really noisy…”
Later, Ning Chu sat in the back seat, staring blankly out the window at the scenery while the chatter of a few dorm mates buzzed around him.
To be honest, he had never been to a bar either. Going along with Zhang Shaoqing’s idea also had a bit of his own selfish motives.
The bar plot was now completely over, so he didn’t have to worry about Wen Yang getting flirted with by characters from the plot. That little virgin was quite cowardly; ordinary girls weren’t as forward as plot characters, so he figured it would be fine.
Still, he really wished his dorm mates were all like Wang Jie—a bunch of d*e-hard otaku that would just mind their own business!
“Isn’t my car nice? My mom got it for me for my eighteenth birthday; it cost over four hundred thousand.”
Ning Chu glanced at the car’s interior, letting out a disdainful “tch” at the wealthy vibes.
“Hey~ Your rebirth skills are lacking! What’s with the ‘tch’?”
Someone’s gonna get smacked eventually!
“Do you guys have driver’s licenses? I usually park this car in the school parking lot. You can take it for a spin when needed,” Zhang Shaoqing continued to show off his little car, like flaunting a rare skin in a game. “I don’t drive much anyway; I’m usually too lazy to go out.”
“I don’t have one,” Wang Jie shook his head.
“Me neither.” Wen Yang suddenly realized the blind spot. “But if you’re the only one with a driver’s license, how are we gonna get back at night?”
“……”
After a moment of silence, Zhang Shaoqing casually replied, “Stay at a hotel? We four can just share a double room.”
“No way!” Ning Chu immediately shot that down. “Get a designated driver!”
“No way! Can your wife drive someone else’s car?”
“???”
Who was it that said if we had a driver’s license we’d drive your car?!
With question marks swirling in his head, Ning Chu leaned against the car window, not wanting to argue with Zhang Shaoqing.
Since their school was on the hillside in the suburbs, even the nearest bar was a thirty-minute drive away. Yawning, he closed his eyes, opting to rest on the ride.
Clearly, they had been in military training all day, and God knows how his dorm mates managed to maintain such vibrant energy.
After about ten minutes, Wen Yang heard the steady sound of breathing. He instinctively turned to look and found Ning Chu leaning against the car door, eyes shut, sleeping soundly.
“Asleep?”
“He fell asleep this quickly?” Zhang Shaoqing teased, “Why is he always so sleepy? Wang Jie, is it your snoring that’s keeping him up at night?”
“I don’t want to snore…”
The conversation in the car quieted down significantly, even the car speed became smooth and steady.
With nothing better to do, Wen Yang’s gaze fell on Ning Chu’s sleeping face.
His long, curled eyelashes looked like brushes, his skin fair and smooth, blemish-free, with exquisite and delicate features. His lips were a gentle shade of pink, moist and glossy, especially the full lip beads that made that little cherry mouth particularly eye-catching.
Perhaps because of his drowsiness, the corners of his eyes had a hint of blush, exuding a fox-like charm even in sleep.
Wen Yang nodded, thinking this was indeed the case.
This dorm mate had somehow become prettier at some point…
In the past, Ning Chu’s face was so tender it looked like a little kid, which made him subconsciously think of Ning Chu as a little brother who needed care. His face had small flaws, unlike the current exquisite version, which definitely had some allure.
To be honest, Ning Chu was starting to look more like a girl.
At first, he just thought Ning Chu was a petite figure leaning towards a girl’s build. Then he noticed that slightly exaggerated chest, followed by a perky little b*tt that could fit into tight pants. Now, even his face seemed feminized.
“Could he really be a girl?” Wen Yang curiously glanced down at Ning Chu.
If he were truly a girl, how could Ning Chu possibly have been so awed by his p*nis in the public restroom at the amusement park?
Even the boldest girls wouldn’t dare to be that shameless, right?
“What girl?” Wang Jie turned around and glanced at Ning Chu, scoffing, “You can’t be talking about Ning Chu, right? There’s no way he’s a girl! You must be going nuts.”
“Well, what about those artists over in the art district this afternoon? Some of the boys looked more feminine than girls; Ning Chu is actually on the better end of the spectrum.”
“That’s true.”
Zhang Shaoqing had a different perspective: “I think he’s just preparing to go to Thailand. Hey, do you think in the dark bar, someone might mistake him for a girl?”
“Then you need to get him a wig.”
“True… but will there be someone in Nantong who likes this type?”
“You’re just not thinking good things.” Wen Yang sighed in exasperation. “You guys must have had some grudge in your last life, right?”
He shot a glance at Ning Chu, imagining him in a wig…
Having seen plenty of beautiful girls, Wen Yang usually prided himself on his high aesthetics, but picturing Ning Chu in drag oddly didn’t seem too bad.
Just two days ago, he thought Ning Chu was merely a slightly cute boy—no comparison to girls whatsoever.
The previous conversation startled Ning Chu; he opened his eyes a crack, not wanting to move, grumbling softly, “Shut up, it’s too loud.”
“We’re almost there.”
“Really?”
He slightly turned his head to look out the window and noticed the once sparsely populated suburban scenery had transformed into rows of low-rise buildings.
As they rolled into a night market district, Zhang Shaoqing parked the car at the roadside and turned back to the others. “Get out! How about we grab some BBQ first?”
Without waiting for a reply, he revealed his ugly rich side: “It’s on me!”
“Let’s go, let’s go!” Wang Jie was the first to jump out of the car.
Ning Chu stifled yawns as he rubbed his sleepy eyes and pushed the door open. Looking up at the city, he couldn’t help but gasp in admiration.
Is this the Little Emperor Wen I wrote about?
This area seemed to reflect the developmental level of a county-level city from his previous life, with two- to three-story shops lining the streets, and most buildings being seven to eight stories tall. In the distance, only a few high-rises could be seen.
The streets were a bit narrow, and the greenery on both sides was well done. Looking up, the starry sky was completely covered by branches and leaves.
This was just a self-indulgent little piece, yet it spawned such a vast and realistic world.
Maybe every novel is its own world in the making?
Ning Chu suddenly snapped out of it only to find Zhang Shaoqing and Wang Jie had already run off. Instinctively feeling a bit panicked, he turned around to see Wen Yang standing nearby, arms crossed, watching him.
“Aren’t you going? What are you daydreaming about?” Wen Yang found it amusing. “Don’t tell me your hometown is in a mountain region? You look like you’ve never seen the world.”
“Not really,” Ning Chu shook his head, taking in Wen Yang from head to toe.
“What’s wrong now?”
“Once we get to the bar, drink less. By the way! Shaoqing and Wang Jie too! Keep an eye on them, don’t let those bad women lead them astray…”
“???”
Wen Yang looked at him with a face full of black question marks, paused for a moment, then quipped, “What’s wrong with you? Are you a mental perfectionist? Your dorm mates can’t have touched a woman?”
“Yes… yes!” Ning Chu wasn’t sure how to explain; he just went ahead and joked, sounding convincing.
“My goodness, you can’t find a girlfriend on your own, and now the whole dorm has to suffer with you.”
