428. The Studious Lily
There wasn’t a hint of anything unusual…

“And the magical girl… her name is Qian Qian, she has red hair, A-cup twin tails, and a super sexy battle outfit. That’s it.”
“Wow, what a lazy name you gave her,” Wen Yang retorted.
“At least I didn’t call you Yang Yang or Wen Wen!” She shot him a glare before adding, puzzled, “Earlier during class, I felt like someone was staring at me. It was probably her.”
Wen Yang sipped his soup, eyebrow raised, “What was she staring at you for?”
“Maybe she was actually looking for you? After all, you’re the male protagonist.”
He shrugged. “Aren’t we supposed to accept that this plot doesn’t include me? It could be that you borrowed her umbrella!”
Ning Chu paused, glancing at the folded umbrella on the table, and then quickly shook her head. “No way! She’s not even from our class; that umbrella probably belongs to Shao Qing or Wang Jie.”
“True, so what’s her deal?”
“No idea… it’s giving me a headache~”
Ning Chu sorrowfully pushed her spicy hot pot towards Wen Yang. “I can’t eat anymore.”
“You’ve only had a couple of bites.”
“It’s so annoying, my appetite’s gone.”
Wen Yang pushed the hot pot back to her, reassuringly saying, “The world is big, but eating is the biggest priority. If anything happens, I’ll handle it. What’s the point of being this tall otherwise? Stop worrying.”
“It’s… too spicy! I just wanted mild! And this is on fire!”

Confused and not knowing what to do, they just had to wait it out.
Maybe she could actively communicate with Qian Qian later?
Ning Chu pondered that after she got back tonight, she’d visit that magical girl living next door.
But from what she gathered, that girl didn’t seem very friendly; otherwise, she wouldn’t be trying to stalk her.

She mumbled, “Should we catch it and return it? That might earn us some goodwill with the magical girl.”
What if she encountered a tentacle monster? Qian Qian could save her!

She pulled Ning Chu down to sit, shifting her chair close enough that they were practically glued together, this mysterious setup making Ning Chu even more curious.
“What is it?”
Lily finally opened the book, covering the front like she was hiding a treasure and whispering excitedly, “Little Emperor Uncle!”
“???”
A hint of blush colored Lily’s cheeks as she rambled excitedly when it came to her area of expertise. “I discovered this last semester, the library has tons of Little Emperor Uncles hidden inside!”
“I specially searched for them and found many; this is the eighth one!”
No wonder she was often seen wandering around the shelves! Turns out she was looking for Little Emperor Uncle all along!
Here I thought she was such a diligent student!
Ning Chu was stunned at the bold wording in the book, a wave of mixed emotions surging through her.
Shame, curiosity, excitement…
