“That’s definitely her!”
The Magical Girl Qian Qian nodded seriously, propping herself up against the wall. She squatted down a bit to peek through the window at Ning Chu and Lily in the library.
“She’s hiding so well! I haven’t seen her out hunting these past few days. Instead, she’s been hunted by humans at night… I think she even fainted yesterday. Is she getting weaker?”
“Don’t let your guard down!”
“Yeah, I can sense all the lust radiating off her!”
“What’s she sneakily up to?”
Suddenly, a loud voice shouted right next to them, startling the Black Cat, who puffed up in fear, darted around in a frenzy, and then leapt off the balcony. Qian Qian yelped and fell onto her behind, tears welling up from the pain.
Rubbing her sore backside, she looked up in a fluster, only to see a bespectacled girl dressed in a professional autumn outfit glaring at her with her arms crossed.
“This…?”
“Have I seen you before?” An An pushed up her glasses, “Transfer student? Qian Qian, right? Didn’t you say you were coming next week?”
Qian Qian scrambled to her feet, casting a frantic glance at the library, only to find most of the students inside staring right at her.
Oh no! I’m totally exposed!
“If there’s no mistake, I’m going to be your future instructor, An An.” An An looked worriedly toward the corridor, “That cat… is it really okay to jump down from that height?”
“It’s fine, it’s fine! Cats have nine lives…”
“Hope it doesn’t land on anyone?”
She cut off Qian Qian mid-sentence, anxiously making her way to the railing to look down, but she didn’t see any sign of the Black Cat.
Every handsome guy could potentially be her little boyfriend; she had to be concerned!
After a quick scan, An An turned back around only to see Qian Qian hunched over, trying to shrink her presence as she tiptoed along the wall, preparing to make a run for it.
“What are you doing?!” She frowned, marched over, and grabbed Qian Qian by the arm, “You better explain yourself!”
This girl looked guilty and flustered—definitely up to no good! Otherwise, why the panic?!

Qian Qian struggled to pull free but to no avail. An An’s grip only tightened, leaving her arm red and pained. She was about to jump up and down in desperation!

Ning Chu peeked out, glancing at the tug-of-war going on between Qian Qian and An An, her expression clouded with confusion.

“Do you know her?” Lily piped up from the side.
“Uh… I think she’s a neighbor. She moved in last weekend, and I saw her this morning.”
Ning Chu propped her chin on her hand, observing the commotion in the corridor, musing, “I don’t know why, but she seems to be following me.”
“Is she into you?”
“Better off saying she’s into Wen Yang~”
To be fair, Magical Girls are probably tougher than Succubi, considering even Tentacle Monsters are no match for them. The male lead in a school drama would probably struggle too.

Ning Chu blinked, shaking off the chaotic thoughts in her head. Under Lily’s perplexed gaze, she quickly changed the subject, “By the way, is this your umbrella? I accidentally took an extra one.”
“Not mine, and not Xinya’s either.”
“Then it must belong to Shao Qing or Wang Jie. Whatever.”
She scored a free umbrella!
Lily turned a page in her book and then asked, “About that pervert you mentioned earlier…”
“Um, let’s be honest here.”
Ning Chu figured Lily might not be as twisted, even if she wasn’t up to speed on the recent Tentacle Monster news. She still worried Lily might become a target by going out at night.
Taking a deep breath, she looked into Lily’s eyes and sincerely said, “There might be a Tentacle Monster hiding in one of the guys at our school, and it could strike at night.”
“……”
Lily silently lowered her head, focused on her book.
“I swear it’s real!”
She shot Ning Chu a sidelong glance.
To be fair, she’d believe a strong, murderous psychopath before she believed a Tentacle Monster.
“Not that! Just don’t go out at night, wait until this whole mess is sorted out!”
Seeing Ning Chu’s face grow flushed with excitement, Lily mumbled, “That’s so fantastical.”

Lily paused for a moment, resting her chin on her hand as her mind wandered off to something strange and her complexion brightened, a hint of pink at the corners of her eyes.
The Succubus radar was perked up.
Ning Chu shot a glare at Wen Yang, then turned back to see Lily lost in her daydreams. She forced a smile, “You’re getting a bit too into it, huh…?”
“No, I’m not!”
Lily shook her head in denial.
“It’s really scary! It won’t proactively attack, but a regular person wouldn’t stand a chance! Totally different from a toy!”
“Well, I’m not stupid.”
Even so, Ning Chu felt Lily was getting more intrigued.
She sighed helplessly. It was probably a mistake to talk about this with Lily, even if Lily didn’t take it seriously; it just sparked her imagination.
Given how Lily was clearly craving attention but lacked the guts to flirt with guys, the likelihood of her pursuing a Tentacle Monster was even lower.

“I sent that.”
She glanced curiously at Lily. Their relationship had grown closer; unlike before, Lily now freely shared all kinds of bold thoughts online.
Unlocking her phone, she found the unread message was a video.
“What’s this?”
“Interesting.”

Lily reached out, helped Ning Chu download it, then resumed her iceberg impersonation while staring at her Little Emperor Uncle.

Ning Chu knew it wasn’t anything good but couldn’t help her curiosity, akin to a cat with a d*ath wish.

Sliding the progress bar a few times, her face flushed crimson, and she quickly laid her phone down on the table.

The noise in the corridor faded away. Wen Yang glanced back and reminded, “Qian Qian left with the instructor.”
