436. You’re Not Worthy!
Wang Jie followed Zhang Shaoqing, clearly being corrupted bit by bit.
Last semester, Wang Jie hardly skipped any classes, but this semester he had already missed several lessons hanging out with Zhang Shaoqing.
Ning Chu could only be grateful that Wen Yang had moved out of the dorm early, or she would have been dragged down too.
Today, the teacher was stricter than usual, requiring students to raise their hands during roll call to avoid anyone having someone else sign in for them, otherwise those two might still be snoozing in the dorm.
“I checked, your lunar birthday is a month away.”
“I don’t care which one we celebrate.”
Wen Yang looked at the blackboard, seemingly uninterested in birthdays at all.
Since his family passed away, no one remembered his birthday anymore. When he was little, he would save up some snacks and make himself a bowl of noodles to celebrate alone, but now, even he didn’t remember when his birthday was.
“That sounds too troublesome.”
“How about we celebrate both your solar birthday together, invite Shaoqing and the others, and then have a lunar birthday bash for you~”
Without waiting for Wen Yang to object, Ning Chu decisively declared, “It’s settled!”
She immediately turned to Zhang Shaoqing and whispered, “Shao Qing! Wang Jie! In a month, it’s Wen Yang’s birthday, don’t forget the gift, and it better not be cheap!”
“??? ”
Both of them looked over, confused.
Wen Yang sighed and shook his head, “Forget about gifts; I’ll just treat you all to a meal. As long as you show up, that’s enough.”
“That’s not acceptable! The more gifts, the better! No need to be polite with your sons!”
“Look at you, Wen Yang! All you think about is mooching off others!” Zhang Shaoqing sneered and gave Ning Chu the middle finger, “Just call me when the time comes. I can’t remember anything said now.”
As he spoke, he was already itching to reach for Ning Chu’s horns.
Those horns were too eye-catching to ignore.
But before he could stretch out his hand, Wen Yang had already predicted his intention and firmly grabbed his wrist.
“Qiqi~ how about cat ears instead!”
“The soft, fuzzy cat ears are cool in winter and warm in summer when you touch them…”
Wen Yang glanced at Ning Chu, got a confirming nod, and temporarily gave up on paying attention to the lesson, lowering his voice to avoid being overheard by classmates sitting nearby.
“Shao Qing, Wang Jie, come here closer, I need to tell you something.”
“What’s up? Why so secretive?”
“I’m going to do a ten-pull, just wait.”
Wang Jie was intensely focused on his phone screen, watching the card-drawing animations play out, mumbling prayers for good loot.
“Just skip ahead; dragging this out won’t get you anything good.”
“……”
After saving up for the ten-pull, it ended up yielding nothing. Wang Jie face-planted on his desk in despair.
Wen Yang didn’t understand what was so great about these waifu cards; they were no match for a succubus.
Seeing Zhang Shaoqing and Wang Jie looking at him, he paused and lowered his voice, “Ning Chu’s horns are real, so don’t go poking them out of curiosity.”
“???”
Zhang Shaoqing was left scratching his head, looking at the shiny, backward-curving horns on Ning Chu’s head, perplexed, “When did she just grow horns?”
This once-roommate had too many secrets hidden away, huh? First, he discovered his housemate from months back was actually a girl; then he found out Ning Chu and Wen Yang were already cozy with each other, and now she grew horns – is she secretly a demoness?
“I don’t see a tail, though?” He leaned back, peering under Ning Chu’s skirt, “She can’t be a succubus, right? Doesn’t a succubus usually have horns and hide their tail?”
Wen Yang initially intended to half-jokingly mislead Zhang Shaoqing, but the truth slipped out instead, leaving him momentarily speechless.
“Could be a sheep girl?” Wang Jie suggested, clearly not thinking in the direction of a succubus, “I think sheep girls have pretty short tails?”
“That’s because they have big butts that make the tail look short!”
“But that can’t mean she’s a succubus, right?”
He countered with sound logic: “Otherwise, Ning Chu would have already drained us dry.”
Suddenly, a realization hit Wang Jie like a slap to the forehead, causing him to whine in pain and cover his head. He looked up just in time to see Ning Chu stomping back to her seat, looking furious with her textbook.
That last remark was a bit too much…
Wang Jie shrinked his neck in guilt, but Zhang Shaoqing was indifferent to the offense: “I heard~ succubi are super sensitive all over!”
As soon as that last sentence left his mouth, he caught the not-so-friendly glare from Ning Chu: “What’s with the stare, Ning Chu? Are you actually a succubus?”
“I’m glaring at you for Lily!”
“Hey, what kind of demoness are you?” Zhang Shaoqing asked playfully.
If she was a succubus, living in the boys’ dorm would surely mean they’d be used up, but if she was a sheep girl, that cute little backside of hers didn’t quite fit the bill.
I mean, isn’t it said that sheep girls have peachy rears?
Ning Chu rested her upper body on the desk, burying her face in her arms to hide the bright redness of her cheeks, softly whispering, “I’m a-succubus…”
Her face was almost entirely flushed. If it weren’t for her horns being a sensitive spot too, making it easy for Zhang Shaoqing to poke, she would rather keep it hidden until he started doubting her.
“Don’t tell anyone else,” Wen Yang added quietly.
Zhang Shaoqing turned stiff, his eyes wide in disbelief, his mouth hanging open in shock.
The little brat who once cohabited with him among a bunch of guys was a succubus?!
So, he and Wang Jie were totally unharmed?! Only Wen Yang got ensnared?
He paused for a moment, turning to Wang Jie and asking, “Do you believe it? I can’t.”
Wang Jie shook his head vigorously.
“Ning Chu’s just spouting nonsense; I’m used to it.”
Though Ning Chu wasn’t perceived as innocent, she wasn’t exactly the succubus type either.
When the dorm group did share some suggestive pictures, Ning Chu never participated, and during that one time they all watched naughty films together at night, Ning Chu had even blushed and covered her face.
A succubus? Really?
“You have a stereotype of succubi!” Ning Chu furiously shot back, “Just look at Lily! She’s the recognized Ice Mountain Goddess! Isn’t she also a succubus?!”
“Well, I see that Wen Yang looks pretty healthy…” Zhang Shaoqing glanced at Wen Yang’s rosy complexion, “Better than last year when school started.”
Wen Yang awkwardly explained, “I’ve been eating better…”
Implying that a succubus wouldn’t be considered a real one if they hadn’t drained any men dry!
After all, this is the male lead! Who knows if a Magical Girl could fight against a Tentacle Monster!
Ning Chu glared at Wang Jie and Zhang Shaoqing, seething, “Anyway, my horns are real, so don’t you dare touch them!”
“Fine, we won’t touch them. What are you, a rare unicorn?” Zhang Shaoqing leaned closer to Wen Yang and whispered, “Is it for real? I can’t believe it!”
“It is real…”
“Then she’s pretty much the disgrace of all succubi~”
