Chapter 449: The New Student
“Yo! Why are you laughing so happily?”
On a Monday, a carefree figure swaggered into the classroom with hands jammed in his pockets. He leaned back against a desk, teasing Wen Yang, “You just stare at Ning Chu all day. Aren’t you getting tired of it? Laughing away like a pervert.”
Wen Yang merely chuckled nonchalantly, but Ning Chu shot him a furious glare, clearly annoyed.
“Do you want a beating?” she snapped.
“Come at me~” Zhang Shaoqing wiggled his hips mockingly. When Ning Chu angrily stood up to throw a punch, he quickly stepped back. “Hey! Can’t catch me~”
Ning Chu’s face turned red with rage. “Xinya! Go! Bite him!”
“What the hell, that’s cheating!”
Yan Xinya lazily slouched over her desk, a strange flush on her face as she yawned and replied, “Woof~”
“You’re a wolf…” Lily softly reminded her.
“Alright, enough messing around.” Wen Yang frowned and interrupted the commotion, “Don’t stoop to Zhang Shaoqing’s level. The angrier you get, the happier he is.”
“Such a j*rk!” Ning Chu huffed. Having been driven nearly to her wits’ end by Zhang Shaoqing since the morning, she leaned her head on Wen Yang’s shoulder.
Because her head had horns growing out of it, resting on Wen Yang’s shoulder was a bit uncomfortable, as it felt like her head was getting poked. Wen Yang, on the other hand, no longer felt the touch of her petite head—only a hard object pressing against his shoulder.
The steering wheel might be cute and convenient, but one must accept the inconveniences it brings!
Zhang Shaoqing plopped down at his desk, still craning his neck to peek at Ning Chu’s head.
Even though he already knew Ning Chu was a succubus, he still harbored some doubt.
It didn’t fit the stereotype—how could a succubus’s boyfriend not be drained dry? Besides, why would Ning Chu so easily spill the truth to him? He’d figured out she was a woman all on his own.
“Everyone, quiet down.”
At the classroom door, Instructor An An walked in five minutes before class started.
“Class hasn’t begun yet, what’re you up to now?” Zhang Shaoqing grumbled.
Ning Chu already sensed what was happening and leaned out to peek into the hallway, immediately spotting the striking red hair outside.
“We have a new transfer student in our class—a super bright one who’s skipping a grade. She’s only seventeen this year.”
Ghost girl An An had adapted well to her role as instructor. With a cheerful smile, she turned to the door: “Let’s give a warm welcome to our new classmate, Qian Qian.”
Claps rang out sparsely from the students.
Before college, students usually had decent relationships and a strong sense of class unity. However, in college, most students’ social circles shrink to their dorms.
So the arrival of a new classmate didn’t stir up much excitement.
But when that red-haired girl with twin ponytails entered the view, the cute flat-chested girl caused a wave of gasps.
“No way! Another campus beauty in our class! The quality of our girls is off the charts!”
“Going for the cute route? So flat, though? Not really my type~”
“I still prefer Ning Chu’s vibe…”
“Wake up! She already has a boyfriend!”
“Lily’s like that too! I heard she’s super daring online and posts steamy pics!”
The noisy classroom erupted into chaos, and Qian Qian, feeling a little awkward, gripped her clothes tightly. She quickly scanned the room and locked her gaze on Ning Chu.
Seeing how popular the new girl was, the instructor relaxed and whispered, “Just find a seat anywhere. Class is about to start.”
“Okay.”
Without hesitation, Qian Qian walked straight to Ning Chu’s row.
“Get up, get up! Wang Jie, slide over and make some room for the new student.”
Ning Chu immediately urged everyone to shuffle around, smiling sweetly at Qian Qian. “Qian Qian, why don’t you sit next to me?”
This girl looks so innocuous, but she’s been labeled “evil demon.” Ning Chu figured she’d have to deal with Qian Qian keeping an eye on her. If anything seemed off, Qian Qian might not hesitate to strike.
But Ning Chu had no plans to transform into a tentacle monster and disrupt the social order. With a clear conscience, she found the idea of surveillance utterly meaningless.
“That’s my seat~” Yan Xinya weakly protested, “I wanna snuggle up to Ning Chu~”
“Stop it.” Lily tugged at the wolf girl, giving up her spot.
“Thank you.”
At her core, Qian Qian was still a sophomore. If it weren’t for the Black Cat’s schemes getting her into college to handle tentacle monsters, she wouldn’t have had the chance to be here.
Feeling a bit anxious among students who were, on average, two years older, she sat down awkwardly and nervously asked Ning Chu, “The classes won’t be too difficult, right…?”
“It’s not too bad. Are you not good at studying?”
“I was… the third from the bottom in my class. The teachers wanted to expel me.”
Seeing that Qian Qian was a study slacker, Ning Chu immediately warmed up to her: “No worries! As long as you pass with sixty points, it’s fine! Any extra points just feel wasted; it’s super easy!”
“Really?”
Yan Xinya chimed in, ears drooped, “Yeah! Long live sixty points!”
Meanwhile, Lily remained aloof, coldly observing this senior on the magical girl path.
She parted her lips to greet Qian Qian but swallowed the words back down.
Instructor An An watched for a moment, seeing that Qian Qian quickly integrated into Ning Chu’s little group. She finally relaxed, nodding toward the teacher waiting by the door.
“Attendance!”
The noisy classroom quieted down a little.
Zhang Shaoqing’s attention was now captivated by the new student. He leaned over to Wen Yang and whispered, “Hey, Wen Yang, did you know her before?”
He watched the girls huddled together in conversation, only Lily still stiffly sitting alone at the side.
“Yeah, she’s my neighbor from across the hall. We’ve met a few times.”
“Nice going~ Surrounded by beautiful girls, huh? You’re quite the lucky guy~”
Ning Chu was right there, ears perked up, so Wen Yang didn’t dare say anything reckless at that moment. He said earnestly, “I have a girlfriend; the other girls are irrelevant.”
“Give it a rest. You weren’t saying that when Ning Chu wasn’t around.”
“What did he say?”
Sure enough, Ning Chu’s ears twitched slightly, and she immediately abandoned Qian Qian, turning to the two.
Wen Yang quickly defended, “He’s spreading rumors; don’t listen to his nonsense.”
“What did he say… hey~ I’m not telling you!”
“Neurotic!”
After shooting Zhang Shaoqing a glare, Ning Chu returned to Qian Qian’s side, introducing, “That cheeky guy over there with the silly grin is Wen Yang’s friend, Zhang Shaoqing. The pale one who looks like a ghost is Wang Jie.”
“What’s with the silly grin? I’m an elite! Don’t spread wild rumors!”
Wang Jie slumped over his desk like a dead fish, waving weakly at Qian Qian, as if that counted as a greeting.
Can’t even manage a proper introduction with how beaten up he looked—his girlfriend must be a real beast!
A juicer, perhaps? This succubus feels she can’t compete!
Upon seeing Wang Jie’s state, Ning Chu shook her head and continued to tell Qian Qian which classes were suitable for skipping and napping…
