Trapped in Paradise – Chapter 5

005. Military Training

“Ning Chu really sucks at games. He doesn’t even recognize all the skills and gets distracted all the time.”

“After you all went to sleep last night, I played with him for two hours and never won a single match.”

It was eight in the morning at the school’s large playground.

Four dorm mates had already settled on the grassy field, sitting cross-legged together. Wen Yang was busy ranting about Ning Chu’s terrible gaming skills.

“I wondered why he never plays games with us; turns out, he’s just too bad.”

“Hey, Ning Chu, why are you self-isolating again?”

Ning Chu sat off to the side by himself, hugging his knees, curled up like a shrimp. He rested his chin on his knees, staring blankly ahead.

When he heard Zhang Shaoqing’s question, he lazily turned his gaze, gave a weak glance at the trio, and replied, “Belly hurts.”

Since six in the morning, Ning Chu had been jolted awake by sharp pains in his lower abdomen that had continued relentlessly to this moment.

“Did you eat something bad?”

Zhang Shaoqing, who was supposed to be the villain, shifted his b*tt closer, asking with concern.

Ning Chu curled up tighter, his lips pale, and grumbled, “It must be that Sichuan restaurant’s fault.”

“Really? I didn’t feel anything wrong,” Zhang Shaoqing turned to the others, “What about you guys? Anyone else have diarrhea? If there’s a problem, I’ll go confront them at lunch.”

“Nope.” Wen Yang shook his head, “Maybe Ning Chu can’t handle spicy food?”

“Seems like he just drank too much, his head hurts too.”

Wang Jie covered his head and directly fell back onto the grass.

Seeing that everyone else was fine, Zhang Shaoqing had no choice but to focus back on Ning Chu, “It’s almost time to gather; why don’t you go to the restroom quickly?”

“Forget it.”

If that would’ve worked, he wouldn’t still be in pain now.

He speculated that he had somehow brought his chronic gastritis from his previous life to this world.

Fortunately, while the pain was constant, it wasn’t severe enough to ruin his spirit entirely.

“Gather up, everyone! Get in line!”

The class instructor noticed the group lounging on the grass and hurried them along, giving Wen Yang a kick on the backside, “Hurry up! Did you have breakfast? Don’t let the first day of military training become a laughingstock.”

“Breakfast? What’s that?”

“It’s already 7:50, and you’re still thinking about breakfast?”

Amid laughter and playful banter, the group got up and followed the class assistant to their assembly point, with Ning Chu half-asleep and looking utterly lifeless.

Once lined up, he found himself at the front due to his height. He was initially a bit grumpy about it, but then noticed next to him a Legal Loli just over 1.4 meters tall with a D-cup, and suddenly he felt invigorated.

Glancing further back through the lineup of girls from just one class, there were Lolis, teenagers, mature girls, beast-ear girls, succubi, elves…

Not only various types, but even monster girls had been included.

No wonder it was the world of Little Emperor Wen; LSPs must be ecstatic!

Ning Chu straightened up; standing next to a 1.4-meter comparison made his previously self-conscious height seem like he actually had something to boast about.

Similar to the military training in his previous university, the freshmen formed long lines while several school leaders took the mic on stage to start their lengthy speeches.

The morning sunlight grew increasingly warm; at first, Ning Chu observed the 1.4-meter girl with interest, but after a couple of minutes in the sun listening to the speech, he started to feel drowsy and was yawning quite a bit.

Do leaders in any world like to spout so much nonsense?…

The leaders’ words went in one ear and out the other as Ning Chu yawned, one hand pressed against his continually churning belly, standing there confused until he suddenly noticed a military training instructor had appeared right in front of them.

“Attention! Follow me!”

On second thought, there shouldn’t be any plot related to military training in the novel, right?

Ning Chu instinctively followed the instructor’s pace, his mind hazily recalling the plot.

Definitely not!

That means during these two weeks of military training, he wouldn’t have to worry that his roommate would suddenly evolve into a harem j*rk and the other turn into a villain.

Thinking this, his lousy mood from the belly pain lifted a bit.

The class all followed the instructor to a corner of the playground. Under the instructor’s direction, they stood in proper formation, each standing up straight, hands pressed tightly against their thighs.

“Stand in military posture for ten minutes.”

Even in the world of Little Emperor Uncle, when there was no plot going on, everyone was still fairly normal.

Ning Chu had been worried that the values here would be too liberal, but the time spent together showed it wasn’t all that different from his last life.

Military training had always been boring, especially when standing at attention.

The sun overhead grew increasingly intense; sweat began beading on his forehead and back, and the pain in his abdomen surged, forcing him to frown and concentrate hard on battling the discomfort.

His fingertips started buzzing slightly, and the tingling sensation flowed through his limbs, making his breathing grow heavy without intention.

Suddenly, Ning Chu realized something; yet every slight movement was a massive struggle. He attempted to take a step forward, but his mind went blank in an instant.

By the time he regained awareness, he found himself sitting on the ground.

He instinctively glanced around, realizing all his classmates were staring at him.

His face heated up, and Ning Chu couldn’t believe he was the first one in class to go down.

Even those girls had held it together better.

“Ning Chu, what happened?” Wen Yang had already jogged over to his side, squatting down to ask, “Why’d you suddenly collapse?”

“Just… felt a bit dizzy.”

Zhang Shaoqing also came over, starting immediately with mockery, “Your physical fitness isn’t even up to par with girls. Seriously, we should just take you on a trip to Thailand!”

What a j*rk!

Ning Chu shot him a glare, “I’m in pain here, and it’s your fault I ate that food last night!”

“We’re all fine; you’re not secretly on your period, are you~”

What was meant as light-hearted teasing made Ning Chu’s pupils widen, frozen in place for a moment.

No way! On my period?!

That can’t be right?!

The instructor had already come forward, seeing that Ning Chu was still okay and patted Wen Yang on the shoulder, “You two take him to the medical room for some glucose water.”

“Tomorrow for military training, make sure he has some breakfast; otherwise, he won’t be able to withstand it.”

“Let’s go; don’t just sit there.” Wen Yang gently nudged Ning Chu’s shoulder, “Stop dazing out.”

Zhang Shaoqing leaned in closer, peeking into his dazed expression and said, “You’re not going to faint again, right?”

“No…”

Ning Chu had more or less recovered. With their help, he got back up, and his color slowly started to improve.

It was just Zhang Shaoqing’s teasing; why was he so worked up about it?

He had already checked several times! He clearly had all the features a man should have!

———

Thinking about that time he fainted during military training gets me riled up!
