566. A Day in Ning Chu’s Life
Life in this provincial city isn’t much more relaxed than in the big cities of Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.
However, at six-thirty in the morning, Wen Yang had already opened his eyes, yawning and rubbing them vigorously.
He cautiously withdrew his arm from behind his wife’s head, but his gaze couldn’t resist landing on his delicate little wife, clad in only a flimsy nightdress.
Her exquisite figure was draped in a layer of messy sheer fabric, and just one look made the corners of Wen Yang’s eyes redden.
It felt unbearable.
After two days of saving his energy—heaven knows how he managed to fall asleep during that time.
Under normal circumstances, he would have at least squeezed in some morning exercise, even if it meant waking Ning Chu and suffering a few playful smacks afterward.
Trying to suppress the fire within, Wen Yang shifted his gaze away with a deep breath. Just as he was about to get up, a soft little hand and a delicate tail wrapped around his arm.
“Wen Yang~”
The newly awake little succubus’s voice was particularly charming and innocent.
“What do you want to eat for breakfast? I’ll make it for you.”
Ning Chu hadn’t even opened her eyes yet, looking dazed as she mumbled, hugging his muscular arm, gently nuzzling it like a little cat craving affection.
“Why not eat you instead?”
“Not allowed…”
The refusal was stuck in her throat. Ning Chu opened her tear-filled eyes, her dim brain quickly sparked with joy as her skin flushed in a delightful shade, and within moments, she surrendered to Wen Yang’s advances.
A tingling sensation gathered from her limbs to her waist, causing her to instinctively arch her back, her body forming a bridge on the bed.
The morning exercises took quite a bit of time.
“I’m going to take a shower; don’t bother making breakfast. I’ll just grab something downstairs; I’m running out of time.” Wen Yang hurriedly got dressed. “You wash up by yourself later.”
Ning Chu flopped back down on the bed, weakly rolling her eyes at Wen Yang.
Thank goodness he was short on time; otherwise, she’d end up going back to sleep and not wake up until eleven or twelve!
Every day, she wanted to make Wen Yang a heartfelt breakfast, and if she had time, maybe even prepare lunch for him to heat up at work.
Yet every morning, she had no choice but to lift her rear end tearfully until Wen Yang left for work.
“So why did I wake up so early…?”
Even without Wen Yang’s bustling around, she would groggily awaken from her dreams.
They had promised to save their energy these past few days and have a grand showdown during her ovulation period!
Ning Chu felt utterly boneless, lazily sprawled on the bed, hardly willing to lift a finger.
“Dear, I’m heading to work. Do you want me to bring anything back tonight?”
Wen Yang popped into the doorway, freshly showered, daring not to look too closely at the n*ked little succubus on the bed.
“I want a hamburger.”
“Okay, I’m off then.”
Ning Chu looked at Wen Yang with a hint of grievance.
He used to meticulously wash her inside and out, but now he was too lazy to even help tidy up or give her a quick wipe.
Has he become more and more careless?!
“I’m running out of time!” Wen Yang finished changing in a rush. “Tell me what burgers you want on your phone, and if any packages arrive, send me the pick-up code. I’m leaving!”
The soothing words drifted further away until the front door slammed shut with a “bang.”
As the small and pitiful “little resentful wife” heard the door close, she jolted to life, mustering the energy to get up and rush to the bathroom for a shower.
“Honestly, what a mess.”
After showering and tossing the sheets and covers into the washing machine, Ning Chu didn’t stop, starting to wipe tables, mop the floors, and tidy up the house until it sparkled.
By the time she was done, it was already noon.
Since buying the house, her household skills had skyrocketed.
Back when she lived in a rental apartment, she could barely be bothered to clean once a week. But now, the house was something she and Wen Yang had poured years into acquiring; it was the place she had watched transform into her dream home, the future dwelling for the two of them for decades to come.
Now that she was prepping for pregnancy and had nothing pressing to do at home, she took to cleaning like her mother taught her, tidying up every other day—the tidy environment also lifted her spirits.
Home alone, Ning Chu whipped up a bowl of egg noodles as a makeshift lunch, changed into her go-out clothes, and headed to driving school.
With a baby on the way, having a car would obviously be a game-changer. Wen Yang had gotten his driver’s license years ago, and now that she was in her readiness phase, it was the perfect time for her to get one too.
However, with the recent house purchase and wedding plans, their savings weren’t exactly overflowing. They only planned to buy a few thousand-dollar second-hand car as a temporary solution, hoping to upgrade later to something safer when finances allowed.
Nothing eventful happened at driving school that afternoon—just a few unsuccessful flirtations that she brushed off easily.
Ning Chu was beautiful; even without makeup, she turned heads. Initially, she’d be flustered by advances from guys, feeling nauseated, but over the years, she grew accustomed to it and even started to enjoy the attention, relishing being the center of focus.
Talk about a queen bee!
Leaving driving school in the evening, she headed to the vegetable market near home.
“Hey, boss! Can you cut me a deal? It’s almost evening; if I don’t buy it now, it’s going to spoil!”
During this time of day, prices at the market dropped significantly, even if the freshness didn’t compare to the early birds.
“Alright, I’ll give you a discount. By the way, where’s your husband at?”
“He’s still at work, but he should be home soon.”
She had become friendly with some of the market vendors, chatting while cheerfully picking out ingredients for dinner.
Unbeknownst to her, she had become quite like her mother.
The next day, she’d have to mop and clean the house, and for a few cents of negotiation, she even learned to knit from her mother and was planning to make clothes and scarves for their future child…
Upon returning home from grocery shopping, as soon as she stepped into the kitchen, Ning Chu heard the noise of the front door.
Putting down what she was doing, she hurried out of the kitchen to greet Wen Yang, who had just entered.
“You’re back right on time~”
“Not much going on today.”
Wen Yang casually handed over his briefcase to Ning Chu and, slipping off his shoes, asked, “What are we eating tonight?”
“Stir-fried chives with eggs, sweet and sour ribs, and shrimp—I want the ones with spicy salt.”
“Alright, I’ll help you out.”
Ning Chu looked up at him with a bright, sweet smile, her lips slightly parted, glistening like cherry blossoms ready to bloom.
Wen Yang chuckled wryly, but couldn’t resist temptation; he leaned down and captured her lips in a kiss. The soft, fragrant little body melted into his arms, her hands climbing up his back.
His hands couldn’t help wandering over the little succubus’s back, squeezing her perky bottom and teasing her delicate little tail. Right when his reason was about to snap, he gasped and lifted his head.
“You smell like smoke and sweat.”
Ning Chu frowned, her face scrunching up in distaste as she pushed Wen Yang toward the bathroom. “Hurry and take a shower.”
“Together?”
“No way, I’m cooking! I don’t have time for that!”
Sure enough… stirred up the flames with no thought of putting them out!
“You’re such a tease!”
“Exactly~”
Wen Yang playfully smacked her bottom, causing her to yelp in surprise and run off into the kitchen, covering her backside.
“Get your shower done quickly and come help me!”
“Got it!”
