064. Such a Big Appetite
“Just take some medicine and get plenty of rest. If your fever doesn’t come down by the afternoon, go to the hospital for another checkup.”
The middle-aged school doctor, with a straight face, completed Ning Chu’s basic examination and continued, “Your tonsils are a bit inflamed too. Be careful these days. I’ll get the medicine—it’s all to be taken after meals, and I’ll write the dosage on the bag.”
“How much is it?” Wen Yang asked, a tad nervously.
“The school medical room is free.”
Ning Chu still looked a bit out of it, drooping his head like a sleepyhead, resting it against Wen Yang’s shoulder.
He was really losing control; the fatigue and weakness from the high fever were overwhelming him.
“After we get the medicine, let’s go eat in the cafeteria.”
“I don’t have an appetite…”
“You’ve got to eat something; how about porridge?”
The school doctor organized the medicine, distributing the dosages into bags. Upon hearing Wen Yang’s words, he reminded, “Porridge isn’t nutritious; he should eat more eggs, meat, and drink milk.”
“Oh, okay.”
“Eat light.”
I must say, the school doctor is pretty dedicated, and doesn’t even charge for his services.
If this school wasn’t the main stage of Little Emperor Wen, with all those messy and chaotic events, it would actually be quite nice here.
Before leaving, Ning Chu suddenly thought of Zhang Shaoqing.
He turned around and asked the doctor, who was busy sipping tea, “Does our school have psychological counseling? My roommate just got dumped and isn’t doing so well.”
“Yes, it’s on the second floor.”
“Hmm, thanks, teacher.”
Ning Chu sighed with relief; if possible, it would be best to bring Zhang Shaoqing for a check-up. He stepped out of the medical room and glanced down, only to see Wen Yang already squatting by the door.
His mouth twitched. Even though he felt soft and weak, he didn’t want to be treated like a porcelain doll.
With a resigned sigh, he leaned over and wrapped his arms around Wen Yang’s neck.
Being this close really comes with its complications…
But since the plot hasn’t really kicked off yet, he needed a good relationship to train Wen Yang.
Once all the plotlines are wrapped up! He’d just cut ties with Wen Yang!
Leaning against Wen Yang’s shoulder, Ning Chu was trying hard to sit up straight, not wanting his developing little buns to press against Wen Yang’s back.
Yet, every bump made him instinctively choose the safest option; in just a few steps, he ended up clinging tightly to Wen Yang’s neck, pressing against his back.
The rain had eased quite a bit since they first stepped out, and Wen Yang carefully navigated the puddles, carrying Ning Chu to the cafeteria entrance.
Knowing his shy roommate, Wen Yang squatted down and gently set Ning Chu down.
He subconsciously glanced at Ning Chu’s little bum and thighs.
Compared to grown women, his roommate’s backside was clearly still a bit youthful, but it was small and perky. When he accidentally touched it earlier, the softness and elasticity nearly tempted him into squeezing a handful.
Still a bit dazed from the fever, Ning Chu didn’t notice Wen Yang’s gaze; he was too lethargic, drifting like a ghost into the cafeteria, finding an empty table, and immediately plopped down, resting his face against it.
Thanks to the rain and the holiday, even during meal times, the cafeteria was surprisingly empty of students.
He laid there, and in no time, he had drifted into a half-asleep state.
“I’ll go get some food; wait for me…”
Wen Yang was about to leave when he noticed Ning Chu had already closed his eyes. With a helpless sigh, he muttered, “How did you get sick?”
While Ning Chu had a sickly, delicate charm when ill that made you want to care for him, it also made it hard to not worry.
While getting food, he kept glancing back towards Ning Chu’s direction, afraid his roommate would disappear the moment he turned around. Thankfully, there weren’t many students at the food station, so he quickly grabbed a few dishes and hurriedly plopped down across from Ning Chu with his tray.
“Wake up, it’s lunchtime,” Wen Yang gently nudged Ning Chu’s shoulder. “You’ve got to eat before taking your medicine.”
“Umm… I know.”
Ning Chu’s lips moved slightly, mumbling an unclear response. His little face was still flushed, causing Wen Yang, when withdrawing his hand, to unconsciously give it a light pinch.
“Are you sick or something?!”
This jolted Ning Chu fully awake; he lifted an eyebrow, then let out a soft yawn, “No energy…”
“Eat, take your medicine, then go back and sleep.”
“Got it.”
He propped his chin up with one hand, as if his head needed his arm’s strength to stay up. With little appetite, he randomly picked at his food while dozing off.
“Not going to eat anymore?”
“You eat; I don’t have an appetite.”
Ning Chu pushed his tray towards Wen Yang and rested his chin on his hands, staring blankly at the slogans on the cafeteria wall.
“Everyone, clean your plates! Advocate thrift!”
After glancing at it, his gaze landed back on Wen Yang.
He figured it wasn’t really wasting; Wen Yang had a big appetite, likely able to finish off whatever he left behind without breaking a sweat.
“Wen Yang, what’s it like to be liked by girls and have them pursue you?”
Ning Chu suddenly inquired.
“Uh? It’s okay, not much of an experience.”
“I envy you so much~”
Wen Yang was taken aback, a mix of amusement and confusion plastered on his face. “You can’t be stopping me from going on dates because you’re jealous, right?”
“Just a little.” Ning Chu held his fingers apart to indicate a small space, “But that’s not the main reason.”
“What’s the main reason then?”
“I can’t say that.”
Seeing him act all shifty-eyed and hanging his head down, Wen Yang, the self-assured guy always pursued by girls, couldn’t help but overthink.
Ning Chu’s face was flushed from the fever, perhaps hiding shyness beneath it.
Could it be that Ning Chu really liked him? Just that he couldn’t bring himself to say it?
Previously, it had only been a guess, a suspicion, but Ning Chu’s words today sounded an awful lot like a shy girl trying to confess.
Perhaps Ning Chu really was a girl at heart?
His gaze drifted to Ning Chu’s budding chest; that lovely soft touch from earlier when carrying him was still fresh in his mind.
“I’m so tired~” Ning Chu sighed heavily against the table.
Worrying about the bad women around Wen Yang all day, fretting over Zhang Shaoqing’s potential emotional breakdown—he was not just a student but also a self-appointed policing captain, a psychological counselor. Plus, he had to deal with the rising pressure of his feminine qualities, all while navigating the danger of potentially going boy-crazy and losing his mind.
Why couldn’t he be the protagonist instead?
“I’ll eat faster.”
“Yo~ Out for a date and dining while I’m not around?”
A familiar, obnoxious voice echoed from the cafeteria door.
Ning Chu snapped awake, his eyes lighting up. “Shaoqing! Where’ve you been?!”
“I woke up too early and had nothing to do, so I went for a drive.” Zhang Shaoqing dangled his car keys from his finger, swaying them in circles. “Why’s your face all red? Feverish or something?”
Ignoring his fatigue, Ning Chu beamed and leaned in, gazing up at that infuriatingly smug face.
“Did you dye your hair black again?!”
“That’s called saying goodbye to the past!”
“Looking good~ You’ve definitely improved!”
Wen Yang abandoned his meal, watching Ning Chu practically orbit around Zhang Shaoqing in joy, as a mixture of confusion and unavoidable disappointment swirled in his mind.
Could it be that he liked Zhang Shaoqing as well?
Such a big appetite, huh?
