070. An Unexpected Morning
Wen Yang felt he was in quite a predicament lately.
Bright and early, he slowly opened his eyes, the images from his dream replaying in his head.
The girl who actively perched herself on his waist, kissing and licking his body… That blurry face from the dream was gradually becoming clearer. It was Ning Chu.
Why is it always Ning Chu…?
…
It wasn’t the first time either—Ning Chu kept popping up in his dreams, engaging in unspeakable activities. But due to a lack of, shall we say, content, it always cut off right at the climax.
It left him rather regretful… no, it made him quite concerned about his s*xual orientation.
At five in the morning, Wen Yang sat up and glanced at the opposite bed.
Ning Chu had managed to roll the duvet into a long, blob-like formation, wrapping his arms and legs around it as if it were a massive hugging pillow, resembling a tree kangaroo.
Most of his body was exposed to the chilled air from the air conditioner, his messy loose short sleeves riding up to reveal a slender waist, while tight shorts highlighted his full little backside. Wen Yang’s morning reaction was a bit exaggerated thanks to those youthful curves.
“Looks like I really should find a girlfriend…”
How could he be reacting to another guy? And his dream lover was a man, of all people!
Wen Yang sighed lightly. He suspected it was because he couldn’t let loose in the dorm and hadn’t satisfied his… personal needs for too long that led to this situation. But he couldn’t deny he occasionally had some thoughts about Ning Chu.
Sure, he looked a bit young, but he wasn’t any less appealing than girls who pursued him. And while his figure was a bit flat, it had its own innocent charm.
How sinful! What was he thinking about his roommate!
After a night of pleasant dreams, he felt a strange stickiness in his pants that made him feel both guilty and uncomfortable.
He carefully climbed out of bed, trying not to disturb Ning Chu, slipped on his slippers, grabbed a fresh pair of underwear and shorts, and hurried to the bathroom.
“I can’t sleep anymore.”
Once he changed pants, Wen Yang leaned against the balcony railing, zoning out.
Just past five in the morning, dawn was barely breaking on the horizon, the moon still hanging high in the sky, and the air was unusually refreshing.
He increasingly believed that Ning Chu was, indeed, a girl, but he still couldn’t find any definitive evidence.
That “chest muscle” was indeed prominent, but certain conditions could lead men to develop such soft chests, especially the chubbier ones.
The body curves did resemble a girl’s, but it wasn’t unheard of to have small-framed boys, either.
His feminine appearance was not a valid proof; he just looked a bit delicate.
Lost in thought, he suddenly heard some commotion in the dorm.
As he raised his head, he saw Ning Chu, in slippers and looking flustered, rush out onto the balcony, tiptoeing into the bathroom.
He paused, realizing his discarded pants were still in the bathroom.
The next moment, Ning Chu’s voice echoed from inside, “Wen Yang! Why is your underwear not put away? Why is it hanging in the bathroom? So disgusting!”
“……”
If it were just a matter of changing clothes after a shower, Wen Yang wouldn’t think much of it. But today, those pants had a little extra something on them.
“What’s that weird smell?!”
This guy’s nose must belong to a cat!
Wen Yang’s face turned bright red in embarrassment on the balcony as he anxiously fidgeted. Instinctively, he tried to burst in, only to realize that Ning Chu had locked the door.
The rattling of the doorknob startled Ning Chu.
Thank goodness I always remember to lock the door!
What’s he in such a hurry for?
“Don’t worry! I’ll bring it out!” Wen Yang called.
“Don’t—”
But Ning Chu, fearing Wen Yang would try to invade again, wrapped the pants around the underwear, cracking the door open just a tiny bit, with a look of absolute disdain as he handed the pants out.
“……”
“What’s this sticky stuff? This is just gross…” He glanced at Wen Yang’s mortified expression and muttered in confusion, “What kind of problem is this?”
“……”
Ning Chu grumbled and shut the door again, suspiciously staring at his fingers, frowning deeply as he brought them closer to his nose to sniff. A familiar yet strange scent wafted into his nostrils.
Could it be that “musk” scent?
After racking his brain for a while, he couldn’t recall where he had smelled something like that recently.
Until he linked it back to before he traveled through…
“No way!”
“Eww~” Ning Chu’s face darkened as he hurriedly rinsed his fingers under the faucet and scrubbed with soap, terrified of not getting it clean.
No wonder it felt so familiar!
Wen Yang is a pervert! Doing this kind of thing so early in the morning!
Back on the balcony, with a red face, Wen Yang had pulled a bucket over to wash his pants in the sink.
As a still-innocent guy, he was utterly clueless on how to defend himself in such a situation, he could only hastily destroy the evidence.
In no time, Ning Chu emerged from the bathroom.
He took a sneaky glance at Ning Chu’s expression, only to find that Ning Chu’s face was equally flushed, bright enough to bleed.
Feeling his gaze, Ning Chu lowered his head and rushed back into their dorm without a hint of questioning.
Wen Yang let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding, then bewildered, muttered to himself, “What’s Ning Chu shy about?”
If it were Zhang Shaoqing in this situation, he would have likely come out with an angry face after using the bathroom and blasted Wen Yang for it. But Ning Chu acted all shy, avoiding eye contact like he was trying to escape a bear.
The atmosphere in the dorm became a bit awkward.
Ning Chu sat at the computer with a blank expression, curled up as he trimmed his nails, but the rosy glow on his face betrayed his inner turmoil.
Wen Yang pretended to be indifferent but kept stealing glances at Ning Chu’s expression, feeling guilty and awkward.
From the top bunk, Zhang Shaoqing’s grindy snores filled the room.
“Uh… I’m heading out.”
“Going to buy breakfast?”
“No, it’s cooler to play ball in the morning,” Wen Yang said, his eyes sliding away like a thief caught in the act, “I’ll bring back breakfast for you when I return around six or seven.”
Ning Chu furrowed his brows, momentarily forgetting his earlier embarrassment, and asked, “Who are you playing ball with so early?”
“Shan Shan…”
Oh no, not that shameless green tea!
He could hardly sit still: “I’ll go too! We’ve got nothing better to do in the morning, let’s all play ball together.”
“Uhh…”
Seeing Wen Yang hesitating, Ning Chu broke into a grin, teasingly asking, “Oh~ Is there illicit activity happening?”
“No!”
“I just worry you’re getting tricked by a bad woman. I’m not stopping you from dating,” he struck a heroic pose, “Let’s go, let’s go! Time to change and play ball!”
He jumped up, grabbed his clothes from the closet, and dashed to the bathroom.
He was the only one in the whole dorm who would hide in the bathroom to change clothes.
Another suspicious clue.
Wen Yang pondered as he changed into his basketball tank and shorts, standing at the door waiting for Ning Chu.
“All set! Let’s go!”
Though Ning Chu seemed upbeat, Wen Yang still caught a hint of worry lurking in his eyes.
“Let’s go…”
