093. The Dapper Beast
“Did you hear? Our instructor is actually a pervert…”
“Ah? No way! The instructor’s always been really nice!”
“Seriously, the police took him away for questioning during lunch. Look at the forum—someone even exposed him with their real name. That was our vice class leader!”
“No way! The vice class is so brave!”
“A real dapper beast!”
In the afternoon class, the teacher droned on about…uh, something important, while the students below whispered about the juicy gossip from noon.
Wen Yang was anxiously shaking his leg, completely detached from the lesson. He was waiting for the investigation to yield some good news. Meanwhile, his eyes wandered to the front row, where Ning Chu was sitting next to Yan Xinya, feeling an inexplicable twinge in his heart.
Why did he feel uneasy when Ning Chu chatted with guys, but also when she got a bit too cozy with girls?
“Seriously! Why didn’t you involve me in this spicy drama?” Zhang Shaoqing suddenly slung an arm around Wen Yang’s neck, grinning like a Cheshire cat, “What’s going on? Spill it!”
“No results yet.”
“At least give him ten to twenty years in the slammer! I always knew the instructor was a bad apple! I even roasted him in the group chat last time!”
“No, we actually don’t have any evidence. There’s no case opened.” Wen Yang pulled out Wolf Girl’s mobile, “I tried to recover her chat logs at noon, but nothing.”
“And no other victims have come forward on the exposure post. It’s a bit of a mess.”
Zhang Shaoqing’s eyes lit up: “Leave it to me! Just throw some money at it, and it’ll get done.”
Wang Jie chimed in, rolling his eyes, “Why do you want to b*tt in on every bit of excitement?”
“It’s so thrilling! I’m so hyped!”
Both of them simultaneously gave Zhang Shaoqing an eye-roll.
“Hey! What if I became a detective after graduation? So many thrilling cases come with the badge!”
“With that thought process, you wouldn’t even get through the gate,” Wang Jie quipped.
“Tch!” Zhang Shaoqing smirked, “Is there anything I can’t achieve?”
His gaze shifted back to Ning Chu and Yan Xinya at the front, teasing Wen Yang: “What’s going on? Ning Chu won’t let you date, nor even talk to girls properly, keeps you in line, and then she’s the one thinking about cheating~”
Wen Yang ignored him, letting out a heavy sigh.
Meanwhile, up front, Ning Chu sighed too, resting his upper body on the desk, completely detached from the lecture being delivered by the teacher.
With a mature beast girl by his side, he should have been all hot and bothered, but his body felt as if it were on vacation—no response whatsoever, emotions utterly flat.
This was his first close encounter with a girl since arriving in this world, but his mood was through the floor.
After this transformation, even if he wasn’t turned completely into a girl, it was almost certain his little buddy was long gone.
Having been with him for so many years, poof—it was like a magic trick…
Yan Xinya, too, was not focusing on the class, her gaze glued to Ning Chu.
Rumor has it, this green tea girl from the boys’ dorm has taken the class heartthrob Wen Yang for herself… among the girls, Ning Chu had been painted as an infamous villain.
There were also whispers of someone in the class writing raunchy stories about Ning Chu and Wen Yang; she had contemplated reading them once they were finished.
But after spending some time with him today, she found Ning Chu quite easy to deal with—and it seemed he really did have something going on with Wen Yang.
Seeing Ning Chu sulking on the desk, she asked, perplexed, “What’s wrong with you?”
“Nothing. Just a bellyache.”
Wolf Girl’s eyes drifted downward, noticing Ning Chu clutching a hot pack against his abdomen: “Did Aunt Flo visit?”
“I’m a guy…”
He had never felt so lacking in conviction while saying those words.
Yan Xinya sniffed the air, sharply detecting the unmistakable scent of female hormones wafting off of Ning Chu, rebutting, “No, you’re a girl.”
“……”
“You got tangled up with him too?”
“Yeah, started with business talk and then got into family stuff. He even told me to come see him in the office this morning.”
“Same here…” Yan Xinya’s expression dimmed slightly, “But when he tried to get hands-on, I pinned him to the desk.”
Ning Chu twitched his mouth. Then why were you crying before?
If he had that kind of ability, he’d just, you know, throw a punch first and ask questions later.
But being a girl, it was totally normal for her to panic under such circumstances.
Suppressing a sigh from the depths of his soul, he reassured her, “It’s fine. He’ll definitely end up enjoying a nice stay in jail.”
“Let’s hope so.”
“Knock knock knock!”
A middle-aged man stood at the classroom door, retracting his knocking hand, looking sheepish as he addressed the interrupted teacher: “Sorry, sorry. Please continue, but I need to speak to a few students.”
“Yan Xinya, Wen Yang, Ning Chu, can you three step out for a moment?”
Ning Chu felt most of the class’s eyes focus on him, making him a bit uneasy. He pursed his lips and continued to lie still on the desk.
Yan Xinya gently poked his shoulder: “That teacher is calling us.”
“You and Wen Yang go. I’m not getting involved. Just tell them I’m in serious pain.”
“Well, okay…”
Ning Chu knew exactly what it was about without needing to think, and he didn’t want to drag things out. He’d just fan the flames, and Wen Yang could tackle the aftermath, after all, Wen Yang was the male protagonist.
He was just a mere side character, there to build the stage for the main act.
Nothing was going his way! All that effort over the past week down the drain!
He buried his face in his arm, regretting why he had let his heart lead him into such a mess!
Great, now Han Jingye would either be in jail or, at the very least, expelled. The plot surrounding this dapper beast was pretty much wrapped up.
One step closer to a clean getaway.
And here he was, too overwhelmed with his issues to help anyone else…
The bell rang for class to end.
The next moment, an excited voice got closer: “Ning Chu! I can’t believe it! Next time something like this happens, call me in advance!”
Ning Chu remained with his face buried in the desk, head down and silent.
“Hey! What did Wen Yang and the vice class leader get called out for? Do you know?”
“Probably something to silence them…”
“That won’t fly! What if I throw some cash to get a couple of big influencers to help?”
Resigned, he raised his head and shot a glare at Zhang Shaoqing: “Why do you always want to stir up trouble?”
“What’s wrong with that? I’m just trying to help!”
As they spoke, Ning Chu suddenly sneezed, and the pain in his stomach spiked to a new level.
The universe had come to collect…
Looks like the situation had been resolved.
His long-held worries began to lift. Though his face was pale from the pain, he’d managed to stay within tolerable limits… after all, he had taken some painkillers at noon!
“Should we go to the medical room?” Wang Jie, the honest type, was the first to notice his condition. “You’ve been in pain for days, right? You should get it checked—don’t let a small issue turn into a big one.”
“It’s nothing, just a simple stomach problem. I’ve just messed up my eating schedule.”
“More likely Aunt Flo visiting, huh~” Zhang Shaoqing muttered, “I looked it up, taking painkillers can actually make stomach pain worse.”
Ning Chu lost it: “It’s none of your business!”
