I Don’t Want to Be Turned into a Girl by Magic – Chapter 133

134. The Tool Man

==============================

“Darn it! Can’t you guys shout me a heads up when you skip classes in the morning?”

Chen Yao grumbled as he sat in front of his computer, venting his frustrations at his three roommates who had managed to dodge four classes that morning. What really ticked him off was that they didn’t even bother texting him, leaving him to happily prance off to class only to sit there dazed, waiting for the bell to ring without spotting them at all.

Now it was evening. He hadn’t had time to complain earlier because they were too busy gaming, but with the time on his hands now, he wasted no time in giving all three of them a good dressing down.

But let’s be honest; they had all picked up a thing or two from Tu Junhui’s shameless antics. Even Lin Nan wore a look of righteous indignation. Tu Junhui, ever the cheeky one, shamelessly countered, “Who told you to run off so early? We all overslept!”

“I know you too well! You say you’re sleepy, but the moment classes are missed, you dive headfirst into gaming,” Chen Yao rolled his eyes.

As university students, they rarely had assignments, so after attending class, if they lacked ambition like Lin Nan’s dormmates, their only activity was gaming.

Xiong Da used to spend evenings reading or studying English, claiming he had plans for graduate school, but alas, he was always tempted by the others to game. And he was the type who would grind endlessly once he got hooked on a game.

Back when they first entered university, Xiong Da followed Chen Yao and Tu Junhui in playing Overwatch. Those two usually only played a couple of rounds after class, but Xiong Da could game from class dismissal until three or four in the morning. And during the peak of PUBG’s popularity, he’d skip classes altogether, sitting at his computer like a monk, playing for sixteen or seventeen hours straight.

But since he paid attention in class and had a good foundation, the other three often depended on him during exams.

“Speaking of which, finals are coming up soon,” Chen Yao glanced at the calendar. Although it was only November, it felt like midterms, and his conscience was starting to prick him due to all the time he had wasted.

“I’ll get some materials organized this month for you guys to cram,” Xiong Da said without looking up as he clicked away in Diablo III.

Tu Junhui dramatically exclaimed, “You really are our dorm’s savior! Nan Nan! Go give him a kiss as a reward!”

“Scram!”

Lin Nan, still engrossed in his thoughts, brushed him off. He was currently contemplating which magic spell to unlock, ideally one that was the most convenient. It wasn’t really about escaping Li Na; it was more about demonstrating his unwavering determination.

After all, Li Na was the strongest champion, and in the world of magic, he felt like a noob who couldn’t even handle ranked matches.

He’d be okay with being the attacker, though. Hmm, might even be a chance to experience what it’s like to be a man.

“Still thinking about Li Na?” Chen Yao, somehow, had snuck up behind him.

“Yeah!” Lin Nan nearly jumped out of his chair like a startled rabbit. “I’ve got plans with her for Saturday.”

“Can I tag along?”

“Sure.”

Tu Junhui leaned in with a curious, sly grin, “What? You guys are booking a room on Saturday?”

“Get lost!” Lin Nan shot him an angry glare.

“Don’t give me those seductive eyes.” Tu Junhui had grown used to Lin Nan’s gaze, which was both charming and slightly provocative. Even though he knew Lin Nan was mad, he found the angry version of him kind of cute.

Uh oh, am I into being a sadist?

He suddenly started questioning his mental and emotional health.

Seeing that his glare had seemingly intimidated Tu Junhui, Lin Nan couldn’t help but feel smug; clearly, his glare was still sharp.

The dorm was still buzzing with noise that late at night, mostly thanks to Tu Junhui, who couldn’t help but scream at the top of his lungs while gaming. Roughly 90% of the noise in the dormitory came from him alone.

Lin Nan, on the other hand, was still lost in thoughts about unlocking spells.

What if the requirement to unlock a spell was to publicly dance or confess? Then what does “publicly” mean?

If he filmed himself confessing or dancing and put it online, would that count as public?

By Lin Nan’s logic, it should.

Although he thought exposing his figure online was pretty embarrassing, especially with a public confession or dance being as good as public execution, what if he wore a mask or something?

“Chen Yao!”

Just as he was about to head to the computer, Chen Yao was called back. “What?”

“Aren’t you still filming videos?”

“Just some during meals, but game videos need voiceovers, and it feels weird in the dorm,” Chen Yao scratched his head, confused, and added, “Didn’t you say you weren’t interested in my videos?”

“I’ve got an idea…” Lin Nan waved for him to come closer. Chen Yao, wary of Lin Nan’s seductive powers, didn’t dare get too close and stopped at a distance, tilting his head to look like he was listening.

Taking a deep breath, Lin Nan quietly asked, “What if I made a dance channel?”

He tried to keep the conversation from reaching Tu Junhui’s ears; otherwise, that guy would surely want to join in on the fun.

“Do you even know how to dance?” Chen Yao raised an eyebrow in skepticism. “Besides, don’t you hate showing your face online?”

“I’ll learn!”

Lin Nan immediately began searching for various dance videos on Bilibili. While most were cute “Otaku” dances, there were occasional sensual ones too.

Like, the legendary “Majestic Style”?

The issue was the costume… sensual dances required not just moves but also a sexy outfit.

Thinking about this, Lin Nan suddenly got timid. “Forget it, I’m not cut out for dancing.”

Maybe I’d rather just record a video, randomly confess to a stranger, and then run away. How thrilling would that be? Besides, since it would be a stranger, there would certainly be other passersby watching, and if I uploaded the video online, it could count as a public confession, right?

Chen Yao noticed Lin Nan’s shifting expressions and helplessly realized even though Lin Nan hadn’t fully transitioned into a girl yet, his mood swings could rival that of most girls.

“Uh, what if we find some time later and film a funny video?” Lin Nan suggested.

“What type?”

We’ll figure it out later, right.

As long as I can trick Chen Yao into leaving the dorm, that’s all that matters. Besides using charm magic, I’ll need Chen Yao’s help with other projects, like carrying me in a princess carry for the confession, while he also helps film the dance. Once I can trick him out the door, we’ll wing it and see what happens.

What a true tool man.

Lin Nan attempted to lighten his mood with these amusing ideas, but the upcoming nerves and the sheer embarrassment still weighed heavily on him.

“Why are you blushing?” Chen Yao suspiciously pondered if this funny video had some hidden tones.

“Nothing, I’m just preparing. We’ll go to the teaching building in half an hour.”

“Isn’t it empty at this time in the teaching building?”

Exactly the kind of scene I’m aiming for!
