152. Daily Life at School
Tu Junhui was always the type to act on impulse.
For example, he could say he wants to sleep just a minute before lying in bed, and the next second he would be snoozing away.
Or he could plan to skip class one moment, but suddenly decide he absolutely wouldn’t get out of bed the next.
This time was no different. Unlike Liu Xuefei, who had been wanting to write some fanfiction about Lin Nan but hadn’t budged at all, Tu Junhui finished his homework and pulled an all-nighter drawing an anime character of Lin Nan.
“Why does she have white hair and twin tails?” Chen Yao leaned in at the computer with a disgusted look, “Is she trying to be some trendy emo kid? And isn’t she wearing too little?”
“This is just the character design! Look at that face, doesn’t it scream Lin Nan?”
“Maybe this is what the two-dimensional world looks like?” Chen Yao thought the drawing was quite pretty, but he just couldn’t picture Lin Nan like that. Then he excitedly asked, “So what’s next?”
“Nothing more,” Tu Junhui shrugged, “I can’t draw comics for the life of me, I’ve barely read any!”
Both of them sighed in unison, feeling incredibly let down.
Just then, Lin Nan returned from her job, and upon entering the room, she noticed the two sighing dramatically. Her eyebrows raised, sensing these two were up to something again.
She shot a confused glance at Xiong Da sprawled on the bed, but he just shook his head, too lazy to get up and see what was going on.
Lin Nan tried to sneak a peek at what they were doing, but Chen Yao was back at the computer with a completely indifferent expression, while Tu Junhui probably closed whatever they were looking at a moment ago.
They were definitely watching some adult stuff!
Lin Nan felt indignant! She was a guy too, yet whenever the three of them engaged in GHS activities in the dorm, they always avoided her, making her feel a little like an outsider.
She knew they increasingly viewed her as female, but couldn’t they at least let her continue being a guy for crying out loud?
After all, Little Lin Nan was still here! Even if he was getting younger by the day.
Last night, Lin Nan unsurprisingly pulled an all-nighter. According to some short videos, staying up late was bad for your health, so she opted for the all-nighter instead.
Playing games occasionally was pretty fun, but a whole night? That was pushing it! Lin Nan figured she wouldn’t even touch a game for the next few days.
“Chen Yao, send me the tutorial you found yesterday,” Lin Nan resolved to start on her homework.
There was rarely any kind of homework in their class—whatever little there was usually got done in class, and they seldom had to take it back to the dorm. Lin Nan initially thought about copying a classmate’s work or straight-up doing some copy-paste, but she recalled the teacher sternly warning against plagiarism during homework announcement.
“If he catches you copying, the guys will dress as girls, and the girls will wear cat ears for the entire class!”
She vaguely remembered Tu Junhui’s reminder from last night.
How terrifying.
Dressing as a girl… Should she just copy?
Lin Nan was very much opposed to dressing like a girl and everything female-related, after all, she was not ready to turn into a girl just yet, yearning sincerely to be a guy for a while longer. But hey, she had already worn female clothes and a swimsuit twice! If dressing like a girl could help her dodge a homework b*llet, no complaints about giving her classmates a bit of eye candy.
Although it was a bit shameful, a little stimulating… almost addictive…
Um, Lin Nan quickly shook off that thought; such ideas likely stemmed from Lilith’s wicked influence, and pure, upright Little Lin Nan wouldn’t ever think something like that!
She felt a wave of sadness wash over her: soon she’d be a girl, yet still a pure virgin…
“Next week, I’m thinking of skipping class for a few days. Junhui, can you mark me as present?” Xiong Da suddenly spoke to Tu Junhui from the bed, “I’m going to see my girlfriend.”
“Is it that online romance?” Tu Junhui looked up at him, teasing, “What if you find out she’s a tank in reality?”
“Video calls were fine, unlikely,” Xiong Da shook his head expressionlessly, “Besides, she’s quite wealthy, so… I’d hit the ‘F’ button regardless!”
“Holy cow, that’s epic!” Tu Junhui exclaimed, “I wish I had a rich girlfriend too.”
Lin Nan wanted one too… but at this point, she couldn’t even find a girlfriend, let alone a rich one.
Normal girls liked boys, but she looked too feminine, while yuri girls were into cute girls and she had Little Lin Nan.
Being stuck in that androgynous middle ground felt worse than just fully becoming a girl.
She sat in front of the computer, carefully watching the CDR tutorial Chen Yao had sent her. The software was installed, but once she opened it, she realized it wasn’t much like PS at all! She didn’t know how to use any of the tools.
It wasn’t like she had zero foundation; she had absorbed some knowledge in class, but that wasn’t going to help with making posters.
“Just follow the tutorial and find some similar material to work on,” Chen Yao, who had stayed up until three that morning and still hadn’t finished, pointed out it wasn’t overly complicated; it was just hard to resist the lure of games and videos while sitting in front of the computer.
Just like how some people write while constantly checking out short videos, Chen Yao did the same with his homework.
“I think… why not just download something online and tweak the materials?” Lin Nan thought of a sneaky solution.
“If luck’s on your side and you don’t get caught, that could work… I just don’t want to dress as a girl,” Chen Yao shrugged, “Why don’t you try it? Who knows? That teacher might just be bluffing.”
“Forget it.”
Even if Lin Nan had worn girl clothes a couple of times, she really didn’t have the guts to dress like a girl in front of the whole class.
That was far too embarrassing; just picturing it made her face heat up.
The tutorial video was a whopping two hours long. Lin Nan watched the first ten minutes before her attention drifted. She glanced back at Tu Junhui’s screen and got distracted by a cooking video.
Man, that looked delicious…
Lin Nan swallowed hard; it had been forever since she had a good meal.
“Well, I’m off,” Xiong Da packed his things, “Just cover my name for attendance; the dorm manager doesn’t even know who I am.”
“You’ve got to use your student ID to cover it,” Tu Junhui raised his head, looking doubtful, “If we get caught, it’s not on me.”
“It’s fine, if we get caught, just let me know. I’ll call the counselor and say my grandma passed away, and I gotta rush back.”
Lin Nan remembered that Xiong Da’s grandma had seemed to have passed away a long time ago; he used that excuse to go on a trip for a week last year!
“Another grandma gone?” Lin Nan couldn’t help but scoff, “That counselor isn’t dumb, you know.”
“Just pretend I have two grandmas; besides, there’s no way my grandpa would rise from the grave to smack me,” Xiong Da flatly pushed his suitcase and headed out.
Lin Nan envied his carefree, do-whatever style without considering consequences. If Lilith possessed Xiong Da, with his kind of impulse, it probably wouldn’t take a month before he turned into her!
