155. Maid Café
A coffee was delivered by another maid, and the service didn’t seem much different from a regular coffee shop.
“Looks like only that one waitress calls people ‘Master,'” Tu Junhui pointed out, squinting in confusion at Chen Yao. “Do they really have different roles or something?”
“Who knows?” Chen Yao shrugged, more focused on Lin Nan’s suddenly pale face that looked like he’d just seen a ghost.
Lin Nan seemed to have spotted something terrifying, but as he glanced around, he found no bugs, no familiar teachers; just student customers and beautiful maids in frilly outfits. What on earth could scare Lin Nan in a place like this?
And honestly, even if he encountered someone he knew here, he had no reason to be afraid—especially since he wasn’t in a dress!
Chen Yao couldn’t wrap his head around it, but Lin Nan clearly wasn’t keen on discussing it. He could only bottle up his curiosity and throw Lin Nan reassuring glances, hoping to calm his nerves a bit.
“Let’s finish our drinks and get out of here,” Lin Nan sighed dramatically. He never imagined Li Na would have the guts to steal the body meant for resurrecting Lilith to make money instead!
But wow, that body of Lilith in a maid outfit? Absolutely stunning!
She was already a stunning older sister-type beauty with a killer figure, but in that maid outfit, the contrast was hilariously offbeat, creating an odd blend of elegance and absurdity.
Lin Nan wasn’t really a coffee lover, but thankfully, this café catered to student tastes. The coffee was no longer bitter and harsh; it had been whipped into a sweet, fragrant blend. Not bad, just a tad sickly.

He scanned the café and spotted Li Na smiling at him from a distant corner.
Lin Nan shot her a glare. If Lilith found out about this, he couldn’t wait to see how she’d react! In her memories, this witch certainly wasn’t the type to enjoy wearing a maid outfit and calling people masters!
Li Na ignored him, continuing to chow down; Lin Nan felt a tingle of anxiety crawl up his spine, unable to sit still.
“It’s a shame you’re not working as a maid, Nan Nan,” Tu Junhui chimed in, taking a sip of coffee. “You’d probably look prettier in a maid outfit than most of these girls.”
Chen Yao didn’t voice an opinion, even though he had imagined Lin Nan serving him in a maid costume. But then, it hit him—now Lin Nan had been the only one to see him in a maid outfit! If he worked here part-time, that would mean sharing the precious sight with everyone!
Just the thought of it made him feel queasy—like a bad case of betrayal.
“No way I’m wearing a dress,” Lin Nan shot back without hesitation. Sure, he had tried on girl’s clothes a couple of times and stared longingly at dresses while shopping, but he really wasn’t into cross-dressing, let alone a maid costume!
Why did it feel a bit… guilty when he said that?
Pushing thoughts of Lilith aside—after all, even if she came back, she likely wouldn’t remember anything—he decided to aim for a low-key vibe, sipping his coffee and glancing at the cute maids like Tu Junhui.
While the café must have put effort into selecting their waitstaff, after seeing so many photoshopped maid pictures online, the girls here didn’t exactly wow him.

Chen Yao nodded in agreement, “Other than that tall, icy girl, the quality here isn’t that impressive.”
Of course, that was because Lilith was absolutely breathtaking! If she didn’t look stunning, how could she possibly have a nightlife?
Lin Nan was still decent-looking, but he was just a normal little beauty. Since most people still saw him as male, they were shocked by his transformation. But Lilith? She was on a whole other level of dazzling beauty; the moment you laid eyes on her, it screamed WOW.
Not that he could boast about his own A-cup or anything.
Looking down at his chest, practically flat and almost like an airport runway, he felt an existential crisis creeping in.
This maid café was merely a place to gawk at the spectacle, and after finishing their coffees, they quickly grew bored with the lack of stunning maids and the absence of that signature Japanese maid café service.
Besides, this place had flipped the priorities of a maid café upside down: the coffee wasn’t undrinkable, but the value for the price was a joke—each meal set went for over forty bucks!
“Let’s head back,” Lin Nan couldn’t hold it in any longer.
He was surrounded by long legs, lovely maid outfits, and Lilith’s immense beauty, and his inner mini-monster of jealousy was about to explode!
“Alright then,” Tu Junhui felt the same fatigue. Looking at maids online was fine, but being a customer here was a letdown compared to his fantasies.
He definitely preferred 2D characters!
He sighed deeply. Was it Rem and Ram losing their charm, or just boring games? Why on earth did he think coming here was a good idea?
Noticing Lin Nan’s overly somber face, Chen Yao wondered what was bothering him. It seemed ever since they’d entered the café, Lin Nan’s expression had been strange.
“Let’s go,” he stood up first. “I’ll pay. You two remember to pay me back.”
“I’ll wait for you at the door,” Lin Nan decisively stood up and left.
Tu Junhui took one last glance at Lilith in her maid outfit. She was the only one in this 3D world that matched his taste.

They exited the café, only to find a long line outside. Lin Nan understood why; the café was a curious attraction for university students immersed in a two-dimensional world.
