175. Leaks?!
==============================
After taking a shower, Xiong Da braved the chilly balcony air and quickly slipped into his pajamas, before heading back to the dorm with his dirty clothes in tow.
Autumn and winter in the southern coastal region weren’t particularly cold, with temperatures hovering around twenty degrees Celsius. It was only in January, when the cold wave hit, that temperatures dipped below ten degrees.
Otherwise, he’d have frozen into a popsicle by now.
He turned and stole a glance at Lin Nan, who was bundled up in bed. Feeling a bit shy, he straightened his face and returned to the computer.
The dorm was just the two of them, and if the whole gang had been there, he wouldn’t have felt so awkward. But being alone with Lin Nan? His heart raced like he was carrying a secret explosive.
Previously, he only thought Lin Nan looked more and more like a girl. Now, it was like she had officially transformed into one!
“Xiong Da.”
He heard his name being called and froze for a second before turning to look at Lin Nan.
“Do you know where I can find a part-time job that pays quickly?” Lin Nan asked, her face twisted in frustration. She had scoured several job apps but couldn’t find a gig that didn’t involve dressing up as a mascot just to hand out flyers.
After all, just a part-time job? She was just trying to scrape together enough cash to escape the dorm for a little while. Who knew, after sorting things out with the counselor, she’d still be stuck on the money issue?
Lin Nan flopped onto her bed, but the pressure on her still-developing chest was too much, making her roll over on her side and play with her phone.
Maybe she moved a tad too quickly because suddenly, she felt something warm trickling down her hip…
She blinked in disbelief, popped up, and threw back the covers.
A shocking dark red stain on her pants greeted her like a horror movie poster.
“???”
Suddenly, it hit her: in the frenzy about finding a place to stay, she had used Purification Magic a few hours ago.
Not to mention, her body was no longer pooling bl**d like before. Little Lin Nan had officially exited the scene.
What to do now?
It was her first time facing a problem like this, and Lin Nan was utterly baffled.
Staring at the stained pants, the bloodied sheets, and the comforter, she felt an overwhelming shame wash over her, turning her bright red. She needed a magic spell to stop the bleeding ASAP.
But the issue? There was no way she’d set an alarm at night to wake up intermittently to cast spells on herself.
How did Lilith handle this?
Hmm… Some advanced purification spell that could last a day? Not too difficult to learn, but it would require unlocking for Lin Nan, which was a pain.
“Nan Nan! Look what I brought you!” Tu Junhui kicked the door open, strutting in with a bag of snacks in hand.
Lin Nan jumped, shoving the covers back over her mess, trying to hide the crimson disaster beneath. She then cautiously turned to look at him, confusion flooding her face.
She transitioned from horrified red to pale as a ghost.
“What’s wrong? You don’t like the snacks I bought?” Tu Junhui casually tossed a pack of chips onto Lin Nan’s bed and noticed how pale she looked.
What on earth was happening with her?
Tu Junhui scratched his head, somewhat puzzled. After a day of getting used to having a girl in the dorm, he had gradually bumped Lin Nan’s status from “just a roommate” to “pretty female roommate.”
Otherwise, he wouldn’t have bothered to buy snacks when passing the little convenience store.
Seeing Lin Nan ignore him, he shrugged it off, sat down at his computer, and tossed a snack pack to Xiong Da.
Although Tu Junhui liked to borrow shampoo and body wash from others and occasionally raid the fridge, he wasn’t the type to metric-think everything for his benefit. If other roommates used his snacks, he didn’t mind one bit.
Each time he returned home, he would bring back a bounty of local delicacies to share, and his cigarettes always lay openly on the table for anyone to take.
If not for his penchant for mooching and his penchant for banter, the dorm would have booted him out long ago.
Lin Nan put the chips beside her pillow, her face still drained of color.
With just Xiong Da in the dorm earlier, she might have risked changing her pants while not being watched. But now, with more people around, her anxiety skyrocketed.
And what about the sheets?
Even Chen Yao, who knew she was a girl, wasn’t a reliable option at this moment—after all, could she tell him that she had just had a little surgery and was now leaking “feminine bl**d” all over?
She was doomed…
Today was definitely going to expose her, and to make things worse, she had no way to explain herself.
Lin Nan’s face oscillated between white and red as she furrowed her brows anxiously, her hands nervously twisting the hem of her shirt.
She wracked her brain for a solution, but as her thoughts swirled into a fog, she had no idea what to do.
Maybe she could come up with an excuse to kick her roommates out? Maybe then she could wash her pants and sheets? Pants were somewhat manageable, but the sheets were out there! Wouldn’t that look like she wet the bed?
At least having to explain bed-wetting would be easier than explaining menstrual bl**d, even if it was a bit embarrassing.
“Um, I’m a giant baby.”
While Lin Nan was wrestling with her thoughts, Chen Yao swaggered back with a basketball under his arm.
He was dripping with sweat and intended to jump straight into the shower, but as he passed Lin Nan’s bed, he caught a whiff of something metallic.
He looked around, bewildered, trying to pinpoint the source of the smell.
“Lin Nan, do you smell—like bl**d?” Chen Yao asked, raising an eyebrow in confusion.
“No! Not at all!” Lin Nan quickly denied it, “What smell?!”
Chen Yao noticed her reaction seemed a bit overboard, and with an air of suspicion, he probed, “Did you hurt yourself or something?”
For a moment, she thought that excuse was solid, but she immediately shook her head, “No.”
If she had been injured, there’s no way she’d be pooling bl**d like this! Reality wasn’t a movie; other than Aunt Flo, you usually didn’t bleed that profusely.
With doubt in his eyes, Chen Yao shrugged and went off to shower, leaving Lin Nan in a continued frown.
Maybe she could go invisible and change clothes downstairs first? The sheets and comforter could wait, but she had to keep her body clean or she wouldn’t even dare to get out of bed.
Lin Nan hesitated, uncertain if the invisibility magic would affect just her or everything she was touching. If it wasn’t her, changing clothes might turn into a supernatural incident for her roommates.
She had tried the invisibility spell once before, but it hadn’t worked well. She’d been easily caught by Li Na without even a fight.
She rummaged through her memories of Lilith, recalling that she had hardly ever used that spell after learning it, but Lilith had a wide range of experiences and had dabbled in understanding it.
Hmm, maybe it could work?
