176. Color Fades! 【22/160】
==============================
The night grew deeper.
It was time to turn off the lights. As the dormitory plunged into darkness, only the glow of three computers faintly illuminated the room’s layout.
Chen Yao and Tu Junhui were cursing as they struggled through Dota’s bot mode. Although they had experience in League of Legends, they found themselves stumbling in this new game.
Xiong Da was lost in the world of Monster Hunter, silently sitting in his own little bubble.
The loudest in the dormitory was Tu Junhui, followed closely by Lin Nan, whose personality had been influenced by Lilith… Generally, she was fine, but when it came to gaming, Lin Nan became a whole different beast!
Earlier, some accidental “Aunt Flo” leakage had left traces on her pants and bedding, and the dorm seemed to be developing a subtle aura of bl**d, which made Lin Nan realize it was time to do something about it.
Stealth spell!
She swallowed hard. This spell worked on the eyes of those around her, not herself, so when the magic was cast, she sat there looking completely bewildered, utterly clueless if it had worked.
Whatever the effect, in this pitch-black room, surely no one would notice the bl**d on her pants.
With that thought, Lin Nan felt her courage swell, and she leisurely got out of bed.
Did it take effect?
Tiptoeing to the ground, she nervously glanced at her three roommates, who remained unresponsive.
She finally exhaled and carefully opened her wardrobe, retrieving her pants and underwear before quickly shutting the door.
Fortunately, the wardrobe wasn’t too old, so it didn’t creak loudly when she opened and closed it.
She turned to head to the bathroom to change, but the balcony door was tightly shut. If she opened it and a sudden gust of cold wind blew in, it would definitely disturb her roommates.
Hmm… Well, I am in stealth mode.
Taking a deep breath, she lifted her head to confirm once again that her roommates couldn’t see her, and decided just to change right there in the dorm!
Long pants—off and into the laundry basket.
Then came the boxers…
Lin Nan didn’t find anything wrong with being leg-bare, but stripping down completely, even knowing her roommates couldn’t see her, felt ridiculously embarrassing.
Can’t see me, can’t see me…
As her hands grasped the waistband on either side, just as she was about to pull them down, she suddenly noticed Chen Yao turning his head towards her direction. Lin Nan felt as though lightning had struck her, her mind went blank, frozen in place, unable to look away from Chen Yao’s eyes.
But Chen Yao seemed unaware of her presence, yawning as he returned his gaze to the computer screen.
He must have just heard a noise or something.
Feeling nervous and flustered, Lin Nan dared not continue; with bare legs, she hurriedly crawled back onto her bed to change her underwear under the covers.
But there was that stain of bl**d in the blanket—just felt so dirty and gross.
After successfully changing, Lin Nan pondered the state of her bedding; the adrenaline rush from that little adventure had her heartbeat racing, arms trembling.
Wow, what a thrill!
If Chen Yao had looked at her just one minute longer, she would have been completely bare in the lower half. Even if she knew he couldn’t see her, the anxiety was real.
Ugh, enough overthinking! They’re all busy gaming; changing a blanket doesn’t mean they’re going to rush over to gawk, right?
It’s just normal laundry!
Suddenly, Lin Nan had an epiphany. Sure, this was the first time she had a leak that soaked the entire bed, and it caught her off guard, but really, no one would actually care about a roommate swapping out a blanket.
The toughest part was changing pants, given that the bloodstains were pretty blatant, but magic had saved the day.
So, she set to work peeling off the blanket and changing the sheets.
The school’s metal bunk beds always had wooden boards underneath. Lin Nan had laid a layer of bamboo matting on top. Due to the dropping temperature, she had tossed a blanket over that.
Sure, it was rigid and uncomfortable to lie on, but she had gotten used to it.
Standing up, she first took off the sheet, packing the bloody one away on Chen Yao’s bed, then proceeded with the blanket.
“What are you doing washing your bedding at this hour?” Chen Yao, catching the noise, looked up and asked casually, “And why change pants instead of taking a shower?”
“???”
Lin Nan froze in place.
Did the magic not work?!
Her scalp prickled with dread, not understanding why the spell had failed. Was it limited to only one target?
“Suddenly felt a bit dirty…” she muttered weakly.
Chen Yao glanced at Lin Nan as she struggled with the blanket. “Need any help?”
“No! No!” Lin Nan’s head shook vigorously as she hurried to speed up her actions. “I’ll have it done soon enough!”
For some reason, that earlier smell of bl**d seemed a bit stronger now.
Chen Yao frowned, looking at the flustered Lin Nan on the bed, sensing something was off.
But with the lights out in the dorm, all he could see was Lin Nan’s outline, and even her expression was hard to make out.
“Is it just me, or does it smell a little?”
Tu Junhui suddenly turned his head, asking absentmindedly, “I didn’t notice before, but now it seems a lot more obvious.”
Probably because all that bl**d was wrapped up in the blanket earlier?
Lin Nan hurriedly sped up her work, pulling off the bedding before diving down to stuff it all into the laundry basket, then darting toward the balcony with the bucket.
Gotta wash it quick before they finish their game!
She had initially wanted to use the washing machine downstairs, but then thought again—who knows what that thing had washed before, and it might not even clean well. Best to hand wash something that’s close to her skin.
Lin Nan was quite skilled at laundry, having done chores regularly, but those bloodstains were a different beast. After scrubbing and rinsing a few times, some faint red still lingered on the sheet.
That red was so glaring.
Letting out a long sigh, she decided to let it soak in the bucket for a bit.
“Chen Yao, does the supermarket still have its doors open?” She peeked into the dorm, “I need to go buy something.”
She was using Purification Magic almost every ten minutes, terrified of an accidental leak again, but once night fell, all she could rely on were sanitary pads… Living in the dorm was a nightmare every month after becoming fully female; Aunt Flo was such a torment.
“Even if it’s open, they’ve locked the door downstairs. Are you really planning to climb out?” Chen Yao abandoned his game temporarily and walked over to Lin Nan. “What’s so urgent you need to buy? I can go get it for you!”
“No need!” Lin Nan’s face turned crimson as she hurriedly shook her head, then quickly added, “Just help me climb over the wall…”
The dorm was surrounded by iron bars, and there wasn’t a place to step when climbing over. She doubted her own ability to pull it off.
“Well, let me just do it for you.” Chen Yao stuffed his hands into his pockets, curious about the bucket of water in the sink. “Why is the water a bit red?”
Lin Nan froze, flustered, and quickly moved the bucket to the corner of the balcony, her face flushed as she stiffly attempted to explain, “It’s… just color fading!”
“A white sheet can’t fade to red?”
