I Don’t Want to Be Turned into a Girl by Magic – Chapter 182

185. Is this woman a devil?

========================================

When Lin Nan returned to the dormitory, she couldn’t help the grin plastered on her face.

But she was still curious about what that blue stick was that made Zheng Qian awkwardly change the subject…

She admitted that her mindset hadn’t completely shifted to that of a woman yet, leading to some clumsy, strange actions—like totally sensing when certain people were eyeing her body while appearing blissfully unaware of it.

But come on, changing the subject was way too obvious!

If it weren’t for the rental apartment being a serious matter, and Zheng Qian clearly not wanting to discuss it, her personality would’ve driven her to dig deeper.

“Back already?” Chen Yao turned to look at Lin Nan and smirked, “Looks like you had a blast with Counselor Zheng.”

“Why do I smell something sour?” Lin Nan picked up on Chen Yao’s snarky tone and felt extreme annoyance. She took a few steps forward, leaned down a bit, and stared down at Chen Yao sitting at his computer, demanding, “You totally sold my secrets, didn’t you!”

Chen Yao was a little guilty, forcing himself to look away from Lin Nan’s piercing eyes: “I thought I was just gathering student info like a normal person.”

“Normal info gathering would mean the counselor knows where I work part-time!” Lin Nan was furious, feeling that Chen Yao had sold her out for personal gain, “He even knows what I like to eat and how much I love money!”

Sure, she was a bit money-hungry, but it was okay for people close to her to know. Having outsiders aware felt embarrassing.

After all, society generally scorns those who are too greedy for cash.

Chen Yao felt even guiltier, casting a glance at the fuming Lin Nan, but suddenly thought the upset Lin Nan was kind of adorable.

“I’m moving out tomorrow!” Lin Nan decided not to push her luck, straightening up and huffing, “So, treating me to lunch tomorrow cancels everything out.”

Chen Yao frowned; it was only the beginning of the month, and he was already nearly broke!

“Huh? Nan Nan is moving out?”

Tu Junhui, who had been playing a game, suddenly turned around, sounding a bit regretful: “Why move out? The three of us big guys can’t even protect a delicate flower like you?”

“Why are you being so shady right off the bat?” Lin Nan didn’t argue back, though. A few days ago, she would’ve snapped back with confidence, but now she found herself explaining with a hint of guilt: “I just feel like it’s inconvenient for you guys in the dorm. Uh…”

Her three roommates had never done anything over-the-top, and even though they had arguments, life together over the past year had generally been harmonious. They even looked out for her, yet because she had completely transformed into a woman, she could only think the worst and decided to relocate.

Honestly, it stirred up a strange feeling inside her.

Maybe Tu Junhui noticed her mood wasn’t great. He skipped the usual teasing and asked earnestly, “Need any help? We could check out the place; we might even throw a party there in the evenings!”

“Forget it; I’m afraid my neighbors will complain,” Lin Nan returned to her computer, casting a glance at her cluttered desk. Realizing she had way too much stuff, she backtracked, “But I think you can help move things.”

Having lived in the dorm for over a year, Lin Nan had amassed an astonishing amount of personal belongings.

First off, transporting her laptop and monitor was going to be a hassle. Her clothes weren’t too bad; a suitcase would do. But the books, art boards, paints, the random knickknacks from her bookshelf, and her bedding? Trying to get everything sorted was going to be a pain.

Fortunately, after having a decent dinner in the evening, she was able to shake off the fatigue from her part-time job; otherwise, seeing all the messy little items would have completely drained her motivation.

Xiong Da got out of bed, not saying much, and silently walked over to help.

Lin Nan had a good impression of this quiet, stoic roommate. He just came off as aloof, and they had very different interests, which made their relationship feel a bit flat.

“Meow!”

As she was packing the paint into a bag, Lin Nan remembered she had a cat.

“Should I leave Cola here or… whatever, I should take her to the rental place. This cat’s been a little off lately; if no one’s watching her, she might jump off the balcony.” Lin Nan crouched down, trying to pet her cat.

But for some reason, Cola was feeling feisty and swiped a paw at Lin Nan, causing her to quickly retract her hand.

Feeling angry, Lin Nan thought this cat must be in heat, even after she had been so nurturing in the past; now Cola was clawing like she’d lost all sense of obedience.

So, with no hesitation, she grabbed Cola by the scruff of her neck and lifted her up, ignoring the cat’s flailing limbs.

“Did this cat go dumb or something?” Xiong Da asked while helping Lin Nan tidy things up, “I remember it used to be super fast; what happened to it today?”

“It must be in heat!” Lin Nan glared at Cola, grinding her teeth, “If you try to scratch me again, I’ll take you to the vet for sterilization!”

Cola was stunned; just a moment ago, she had been thrashing wildly, and now she was as still as a limp noodle, though her eyes showed a deeper gloom.

Lin Nan didn’t care; if a cat was getting depressed, it was overestimating its own intelligence.

She suspected that the last time Cola jumped off was because she was in heat and desperately looking for some boy cat.

How shameless!

“It’s too early for that, right?” Xiong Da, having raised cats before, knew much more than Lin Nan, “Usually females don’t go into heat until a year old; some might earlier, but you have to wait to sterilize until they’re a year.”

“Still, let’s just go for sterilization; I’ve heard it helps improve their temperament a lot.” Lin Nan plopped Cola down onto a seat but saw her getting antsy to leave, shooting her a nasty glare.

Cola seemed to understand Lin Nan’s look, hesitating before lying down again.

Looks like cats really do need discipline, just like kids.

Seeing Cola behave, Lin Nan pulled out a long-forgotten can of cat food: “You’ll only get treats if you behave; otherwise, I won’t let Lin Yuan feed you.”

Spying her favorite food, Cola showed no interest.

Lately, it seemed her appetite was off. She used to eat only milk and cat food, but recently she had developed a taste for human food, always meowing for a meal.

Lin Nan glanced over at the untouched cat food in the corner, shaking her head in frustration. She felt her cat was entering its rebellious phase—even if it wasn’t in heat.

She opened the can and placed it in front of Cola, but this cat, which could rival Lin Nan’s lunch price, just scoffed at it and attempted to swipe it off the table.

“If you don’t finish it, we’re heading to sterilization~ Wasting food is shameful.” Lin Nan said with a gleeful grin.

Cola gobbled down the food quickly.

Is this woman a devil or what? Is she a devil or what?!
