192. Is This a Rival in Love?
==============================
Lin Nan thought she would completely freak out about wearing women’s underwear, planning to just give it a try this time.
But to her surprise, after just one class, she forgot all about the “shame item” she was wearing and immersed herself in preparing for final exams.
It was like someone getting used to wearing a necklace or bracelet for the first time; initially, it felt awkward, but soon it became part of them.
However, once class was over, Lin Nan would suddenly remember she was still wearing that “shame item,” her face would blush like a ripe tomato, and she’d carefully scan the classroom, terrified that someone other than the few who knew about her female identity would catch on.
Fortunately, it seemed like no one had the keen eyesight to figure out what she was wearing beneath her coat.
The only time Liu Xuefei discovered her secret was when her arm accidentally brushed against Lin Nan’s side, feeling the outline of her bra.
“Hey, you going to the cafeteria later?” Chen Yao glanced at Lin Nan.
He felt Lin Nan hadn’t changed much over this period, yet somehow, she seemed to be getting more and more attractive.
Chen Yao glanced warily at Tu Junhui and Xiong Da, and thankfully, these two had thick skins and didn’t seem to drool over Lin Nan, as they considered her just a pretty guy.
But the problem was…
He looked out the window and spotted that sleazy counselor.
What was he doing here?!
Zheng Qian had only shown up when there was something important, like holding a class meeting; otherwise, he’d just delegate tasks to the class leaders or send a message in the group.
But lately, Zheng Qian had been popping up way too frequently!
And he was staring straight at Lin Nan!
“You need to be careful of Zheng Qian,” Chen Yao warned Lin Nan uneasily. “I’ve known him for a while. He looks all charming and approachable, but he’s just a scumbag. I heard last year he dated a girl from our class for a week, then dumped her.”
“Really?” Lin Nan was too busy using magic to cram for her exams that she barely registered Chen Yao’s gossip about Zheng Qian.
“Just don’t get too close to him! Oh, and that junior always pestering you to game? He’s not a good guy either!”
“Is that so?” Lin Nan absentmindedly nodded, not wanting to waste her precious ten minutes of magic study time, and went back to focusing on her book.
Are you even listening…? Don’t you see your best buddy is trying to tell you something serious?
He wanted to say more, but the big dog behind him poked him in the back. Turning around, he saw the big dog leaning on the desk, whispering at him.
“Hey, Chen, don’t you think Lin Nan is acting kinda weird lately?”
“What?” Lin Nan suddenly turned around.
The big dog quickly changed his tune: “I mean, you’re looking increasingly handsome! If there’s a contest for the campus heartthrob next time, I’ll definitely create a few accounts just to vote for you!”
Flattered, Lin Nan felt a little happy, but still waved it off, smirking while holding back laughter, “Let’s be low-key, I don’t need a title like campus heartthrob that doesn’t match the reality.”
“That’s right! No matter who the heartthrob is, the coolest has always been you, Lin Bro!”
Chen Yao rolled his eyes at Lin Nan’s mock humility, which was pretty obvious with that smug grin. In his mind, he scoffed twice—if he wasn’t keeping an eye on Lin Nan, she’d probably end up cluelessly in bed with someone in no time.
A legend of getting duped and having to help count money? That’s definitely Lin Nan’s style!
“Lin Nan, the counselor seems to be looking for you.”
Lin Yuan, sitting next to the big dog, suddenly pointed out the window. Lin Nan turned her head and spotted Zheng Qian out there, waving at her.
“Watch out for Zheng Qian!”
As she stood up, she heard Chen Yao’s serious warning.
Duh! Shouldn’t Zheng Qian be the one to look out for?!
Anyone else she might not be sure about, but with Zheng Qian, she could bet he was the creeper who had his eye on her!
Even though it was entirely her fault.
She walked towards the classroom door, still slightly dizzy from using magic earlier, trying her best to walk in a straight line. But when she reached the door, she accidentally kicked the low threshold, and then her mind went blank as she tumbled forward.
Isn’t this just jumping into his arms?!
In the split second that thought crossed her mind, Lin Nan went “thud!” as she landed face-first on the ground.
Everything hurt; it felt so bad that she could almost cry.
The classroom erupted in gasps, and her friends, Chen Yao and the big dog, rushed over, while Zheng Qian stood there, completely baffled.
He glanced at the slight drop between the classroom and the hallway. Come on, is there really even a one-centimeter difference? Can that trip someone up?
After snapping out of it, he went over and helped Lin Nan up, unable to hide his amusement at her teary-eyed, flower-painted face.
“Really? You managed to fall?”
He looked at her with such adoration that Lin Nan staggered back a few steps and bumped right into Chen Yao, who had just dashed out the door.
As Lin Nan winced and squatted down, curling into a ball, clutching the back of her head, she kept shouting, “Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Ugh~!”
Chen Yao rubbed his chin, speechless for quite a while.
Everyone present was a bit bewildered, unsure what kind of karma Lin Nan had accumulated. This was turning into a chain of events that didn’t give anyone a moment to breathe, the excitement level rivaling a blockbuster.
“Are you okay?” Xiong Da was the first to break the silence.
“Why don’t you give it a shot?” Lin Nan complained through her tears, unable to lower her voice.
But her sweet, feminine whimpering made several people raise their eyebrows in suspicion.
Especially the big dog and Lin Yuan, who exchanged glances, both clearly puzzled.
Isn’t Lin Nan a guy?
Xiong Da took a step back, expressionless as he said, “No thanks. Just watching hurts!”
“I’ll take you to the infirmary. You guys get back to class,” Zheng Qian offered, gently soothing her. “If everything’s fine, we can go change clothes together later. I’ll come with you.”
You “come with” my foot!
Chen Yao instantly forgot about his chin pain, stepping forward, “I’ll go too.”
“You’re still a student! We’re in finals now; classes are the priority,” Zheng Qian pulled rank as a counselor. “I happen to have nothing pressing, so I’ll just take Lin Nan to the infirmary.”
Oh, and will you just happen to swing by Lin Nan’s rental apartment afterward?
Chen Yao regarded him suspiciously, while Zheng Qian sensed some hesitation, glancing at Chen Yao and then back at Lin Nan, who was still crouched down cradling her head. He suddenly realized this student might just be his rival in love.
Or maybe he simply didn’t want to see Lin Nan hanging out with a guy?
