I Don’t Want to Be Turned into a Girl by Magic – Chapter 278

### 282. Wiping Your Face with a Blanket?

Lin Nan couldn’t even remember how she fell asleep.

All she knew was that she had snuggled up next to Chen Yao last night, turned away from him, closed her eyes, and then—BAM!—no recollection of anything after that.

She opened her eyes and blankly stared at at least a third of the bed that had become a no-man’s land. Turning her head, she noticed that Chen Yao was now completely cocooned in the blanket.

The two of them had only occupied two-thirds of the bed last night, which was rather cozy. Judging by Chen Yao’s position, if he shifted even a little bit, he might just roll off the bed.

“Are you awake?”

Lin Nan spotted some movement in the blanket next to her—Chen Yao was probably playing with his phone while face down on the bed.

“Yeah, you snored last night. I didn’t sleep well.”

Her face turned red, and she immediately shot back, “I do NOT snore, okay?!”

“I’ve recorded it and sent it to you. If you don’t believe me, check it yourself.”

Chen Yao’s voice came from within the blanket.

Lin Nan, feeling a mix of embarrassment and fury, slapped Chen Yao’s backside. Before she could say anything more, Chen Yao yelped and curled up into a crawfish position.

She was bewildered. “Weren’t you lying down?”

“I’ve been flat on my back the whole time! What if I ruined your future happiness!”

For a moment, she felt guilty, but hearing that, Lin Nan bit her lip and gave Chen Yao—a combination of him and the blanket—a hearty kick, sending them both tumbling off the bed.

She grabbed her phone from the nightstand to check the time and saw that it was just past six.

“I’m going back to sleep.” Lin Nan rolled over, found a comfy position, and tried to catch a few more Zs.

But do I really snore?

No one’s ever mentioned it before!

Maybe I was just too tired yesterday?

Several questions zipped through her mind. She thought about listening to the recording that Chen Yao had sent her, but the idea of admitting it was too much to bear.

I’m a fairy who doesn’t need to use the bathroom—I can’t possibly snore!

Suddenly, there was movement on the bed again, and Lin Nan realized that Chen Yao was climbing back up.

Quickly, she steadied her breathing, trying to make it as even as possible, pretending to be deeply asleep.

Once on the bed, there was a lull in the movement. Lin Nan was a tad confused but guessed he must be trying to catch up on sleep too.

She relaxed a bit until she suddenly sensed a breath getting dangerously close to her face.

Before she could wrap her head around what was happening, she felt two soft lips pressed against her cheek, accompanied by a wave of testosterone-filled air.

In an instant, she felt heat racing through her body, her face flushed uncontrollably, but Lin Nan still dared not move—just kept her eyes shut, pretending to be fast asleep.

“Sleeping so soundly?”

Chen Yao’s voice came from above. A moment later, he wrapped his arms around both Lin Nan and the blanket.

“Are you really asleep?”

He waited for a while, but Lin Nan remained motionless.

Whether out of mischief or pure nervousness, Lin Nan kept playing dead, plotting to tease Chen Yao later.

But his hand slipped under the blanket, heading towards her clothes…

Lin Nan’s eyes shot open, and without hesitation, she smacked her phone against him. “Ignoring you won’t make you any less creepy!”

Chen Yao was already ready; he caught Lin Nan’s wrist, grinning like a fool. “No way, I’m only creepy towards you, okay?”

Lin Nan’s imposing aura deflated immediately with that line, her face turning a deeper shade of crimson as she turned her head away.

“Crazy! I’m trying to sleep, so stop bothering me! Get your hands off me…”

She glared at him, shifting over to the very edge of the bed.

Just as she was about to yawn and drift off again, there was a knock on the door.

Chen Yao sprang off the bed, pretending he’d been sleeping on the floor all night. Lin Nan sighed, got out of bed, and opened the door.

Her grandmother handed her two breakfast plates. They exchanged no words, merely turning to bring the last of the breakfast to Wu Jiaming’s room directly across the hall.

Lin Nan sighed softly. She hadn’t had a proper conversation with her grandmother in ages.

I wonder what’s bothering her?

Turning back, Lin Nan handed one of the breakfast plates to Chen Yao, asking, “What time are you going back?”

She hoped Chen Yao wouldn’t return at all.

“About nine?” Chen Yao replied, his stomach growling.

Lin Nan’s grandparent’s food was absolutely rough around the edges, and the flavors were…unique. The noodles from last night had an alarming amount of green onions, and the meat? Totally greasy.

He couldn’t handle the food just like Lin Nan. She could pick all the stuff she didn’t like out, but as a guest, he was stuck scarfing it down like a big kid.

The small bowl of noodles he had last night was long gone, fortunately, breakfast turned out to be milk and biscuits, which weren’t half bad.

“Going at nine?” Lin Nan’s face turned into a frown. “I was kind of hoping you’d stay longer.”

“Staying isn’t really a good idea, is it?” Chen Yao chuckled awkwardly. “Besides, your grandparents don’t seem particularly keen on me. A day or two is fine, but anything longer might raise eyebrows.”

Lin Nan shot him a glance and muttered, “Didn’t you have thick skin normally?”

After breakfast, Chen Yao’s little devil side kicked in again.

He gazed at Lin Nan’s cute lips, feeling a desperate itch inside.

Yesterday was supposed to have plenty of opportunities, but he got interrupted by Liu Xinyi in the afternoon, and then Lin Nan fell asleep like a pro in the evening.

He mustered up the courage to slide closer to Lin Nan, who was still sipping her milk, coughed lightly, and cautiously stretched out his hand.

Lin Nan had already noticed the fiery look in his eyes but just kept her head down, refusing to respond.

Her unspoken acceptance seemed to energize Chen Yao, who gently wrapped his arm around her, feeling his heart race and even sweating a bit from excitement.

“You’re getting bold.” Lin Nan suddenly lifted her head and said to Chen Yao.

“…”

Chen Yao was utterly flabbergasted, left gaping for a moment before managing to compose himself, responding with a weak, guilty mumble, “It’s just a normal physiological reaction for a man…”

“I know,” Lin Nan said uneasily, trying to distance herself, but his hand and arm kept pulling her closer.

Her body seemed to soften, and eventually, she could no longer resist, leaning against Chen Yao’s chest.

She felt so stiff she could hardly move. A glance at his pants made her wonder if today might just be her last day alive.

“Um… Maybe we should wait? Let’s talk about this after marriage…”

Lin Nan felt his hand sliding up her sweatshirt, heating up against her waist.

Her face grew increasingly flushed. Although her mind fought back, her body obediently melted into Chen Yao’s embrace.

I need to calm down! Otherwise, I might just give in!

She quickly cast a spell, her head clearing momentarily. Just as she was about to get up and boot him out, she suddenly saw Chen Yao’s face zooming in towards hers.

Her momentarily cleared mind went blank, and instinctively, she closed her eyes.

After just a brief touch, Chen Yao hurriedly pulled back his head.

“I’m heading out now…”

Terrified that his brain might truly take the wheel, he bolted out of the room like his pants were on fire, leaving Lin Nan there, stunned, head down, softly touching her lips with her fingers.

Why does a kiss feel less exciting than holding hands? Just a little peck?

She hadn’t even fully processed what just happened, but somehow, the more she thought about it, the more her face burned with embarrassment.

When Chen Yao returned to the room after washing up, he found Lin Nan sprawled on the bed, face buried in the blankets, squirming around while rubbing her face with the blanket.

“Are you seriously wiping your face with a blanket in the morning?”

A pillow came flying towards his head, striking him squarely.
