310. P.E. Class
==============================
This noon, I spent over two hundred bucks just to change a lock.
And guess what? It was the crappiest lock available!
Right up until P.E. class in the afternoon, Lin Nan still had a face darker than a thundercloud.
When she got to the Grand Playground, she sat on the grass with Chen Yao, flanked by her two roommates and a few unfamiliar male classmates who had gathered like moths to a flame, playing King of Glory.
Lin Nan felt a bit awkward being sandwiched in such a male crowd, especially since the moment she sat down, those guys looked like they saw a ghost and shuffled a few steps away.
Chen Yao was blissfully unaware. As the sports committee member, he had already gotten his hands on the fitness test sheet for the day and was busy scrutinizing it.
The contents were just like last year’s, but the problem was…
“Lin Nan, you have to take the test with the girls this year,” Chen Yao said, pointing at a bunch of girls clustered together not far away. “Our events are different.”
“I know,” Lin Nan sighed dramatically.
Even after becoming a girl, she still had no idea how to interact with other girls.
Noticing Lin Nan’s unease, Chen Yao chuckled, “It’s fine, it’s just a fitness test. You just have to run and blow into a lung capacity thingy, when they call your name, just go! No need to chat with them.”
He was even a little worried Lin Nan might end up fangirling over some idol or become obsessed with makeup.
“Yeah,” Lin Nan said, dejectedly burying her head in her arms, but suddenly her mood lifted as she spotted two girls striding towards the entrance of the playground.
Fueled by determination, she rolled over and stalked towards those girls like a lion hunting its prey.
Chen Yao quickly followed in her footsteps.
Today, Lilith was sporting a pair of denim shorts that showcased her legs—legs that could probably be licked to a breaking point by a pervert. She trailed behind Li Na, clutching a rock, intently aiming for the back of Li Na’s head.
Time for vengeance!
Knocking her out and stripping her on the street!
She summoned all her strength and swung the rock down.
But Li Na suddenly darted forward two steps, causing Lilith’s mighty swing to miss entirely. With no balance left, she stumbled and faceplanted right into the artificial grass of the playground.
It hurt, but her eyes only watered; the dignity of a witch wouldn’t let her cry out like a regular girl even after such a mishap.
As she looked up, she noticed Li Na had run off to chat with Lin Nan.
It’s all Lin Nan’s fault!
“You guys have P.E. this afternoon too?” Lin Nan frowned at Li Na, tilting her head slightly as she glanced past Li Na’s shoulder to the sprawled Lilith, reporting without hesitation, “She just tried to smash you with a rock.”
“I know,” Li Na replied, grinning. “Lilith moved into the school dorm this noon, right next to me. Seems like she’s getting along well with her roommates.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, just in one afternoon, five people raced to the counselor asking her to switch rooms.”
Five people…? But isn’t a dorm supposed to have only four in a room?
So what that means is, in just one afternoon, she offended everyone in her room and half of the one next door?
Lin Nan’s eyes sparkled; she realized that if Lilith stayed in the girls’ dorm long enough, she would attract more and more like-minded fellows behind her.
At that point, a whole crew could bully her!
So now was the time to pick on Lilith, because once she gained powers, retaliation wouldn’t be pretty!
Chen Yao stood nearby yawning. His impressions of Li Na weren’t great, so he kept his mouth shut, just staring at the exposed calves peeking out from Lin Nan’s shorts.
Whether it was her thighs or calves, they were pretty nice, yeah.
Due to the fitness test, Lin Nan had opted for a short-sleeve shirt and shorts to allow for movement.
April was warm enough, with daytime temperatures hovering in the twenties, so no one would think twice about her outfit.
But Chen Yao’s eyes lingered a bit too long on Lilith’s long, luscious legs.
Lin Nan chatted a bit with Li Na, and when Lilith got up and sauntered over, Lin Nan’s expression visibly darkened. She confronted her, “Did you block my door with something this noon?!”
“So what! Yeah, I did it!” Lilith replied, hands on her hips, grinning like she was on top of the world. “Can’t get through the door now, can ya?!”
“Believe it or not, I’ll take you for sterilization!” Lin Nan threated wickedly.
Lilith instinctively flinched back, horror-struck, speechless for a moment.
After a beat, she realized she was no longer a cat, but a human!
Yet when she glanced at Lin Nan, she saw the girl was already dragging Chen Yao away.
“Ugh! Pervert!” she could only shout at Lin Nan’s retreating figure.
Class time had arrived.
It was still the same P.E. teacher from last semester who, as usual, called out names and led the students in running.
Normally, they were supposed to run three laps, around a thousand and two hundred meters.
But the teacher knew that many college students these days weren’t exactly in peak shape, so he charged ahead, head down, with a few athletic students tailing him, and behind those, a gaggle of leisurely joggers.
Lin Nan was muddling along with the latter crowd.
Chen Yao was beside her, animatedly debating whether Yasuo was more powerful than Zed, with Tu Junhui chiming in every now and then.
Recently, Lin Nan had played less and favored support roles, while Chen Yao dabbled in everything, making him the clear winner in their arguments.
But Lin Nan had her own trump card.
“I’m not listening. Anyway, Yasuo’s E can’t even touch Zed!” Lin Nan declared, her face set like granite.
“You’re being unreasonable. Did you miss the minions or something?”
“Not listening! Yasuo’s awesome.”
“I…” Before Chen Yao could finish, he stepped on the toe of his shoe and winced, biting back a grimace, he instantly conceded, “Okay, you’re right!”
Lin Nan huffed through her nose in triumph.
She turned to the other side of the playground where another class was simultaneously having P.E., spotting their teacher leading the students in warm-up exercises.
And there was Lilith, moving with such enthusiasm—such a disgrace to the title of witch!
While observing, Lin Nan suddenly felt her hand being grasped. Startled, she instinctively tried to pull away but found her wrist firmly locked in place.
Feeling a bit guilty, she looked around and then blushed, whispering to Chen Yao, “Can’t you be a little more discreet?!”
“Discretion’s out the window,” Chen Yao said seriously. “I’ve noticed some weirdo in class has his eyes on you.”
So this hand-holding is a declaration of ownership?
Lin Nan glanced down at their entwined hands and angrily shot back, “Why does liking me make you a weirdo?!”
“Trying to steal my wife makes you a weirdo! Total wife-stealer!”
“Yeah, right! You’re no one’s husband!”
