I Don’t Want to Be Turned into a Girl by Magic – Chapter 328

332. Clothes【6/99】

==============================

Chen Yao sat at the head of the bed, took a sip of milk, and hesitantly asked Lin Nan, “How about I sleep on the sofa tonight?”

“What?” Lin Nan looked up from her phone, slightly taken aback. “Aren’t you going to be uncomfortable sleeping on the sofa?”

He nodded and straightforwardly explained, “It’s pretty cold these days.”

“Hmm?”

“So, you keep stealing the blanket from me at night…” Chen Yao said with a wry smile. “Otherwise, I might have recovered from my cold by now.”

Lin Nan’s eyes went wide as she instantly denied it, “No way! Why would I need two blankets? I’m not cold!”

You ask me, I ask who?

His expression darkened; Lin Nan probably thought he was joking.

But the past few nights, he had woken up freezing, only to find both blankets cocooned around Lin Nan like she was some kind of blanket-loving mummy, leaving no way for him to reclaim his share.

Given that he was already sick, being jolted awake by the cold didn’t help matters at all!

If it weren’t for Lin Nan’s kicking-the-blanket habit, he feared he’d have ended up completely blanketless.

“Nonsense! Every time I wake up, the blankets are on you!” Lin Nan didn’t believe that she would steal blankets at all. After all, with her constant temperature magic, she wouldn’t even feel cold in the middle of a snowstorm.

With no other choice, Chen Yao glanced at the weather report for the night. Luckily, it predicted a slight rise in temperature, so even if his blankets were snatched away, he shouldn’t be too cold.

After breakfast, he took his medicine, but Chen Yao found himself restless, his mind swirling with thoughts of gaming.

“Can you hand me the game console? I thought I left it on the bedside; where did it go?”

“I lent it to Tu Junhui,” Lin Nan dashed into the living room and returned with Chen Yao’s laptop. “Use this for now.”

Taking his laptop, he didn’t mind that Lin Nan had lent out the game console. He lowered his head, looking for interesting shows on the screen.

Out of the corner of his eye, he caught Lin Nan sitting at the head of the bed, casually clipping her nails with an unrefined posture.

When Lin Nan was at home, she relaxed and acted freely, unlike when she was out, where she always seemed tense and couldn’t possibly adopt such an attention-grabbing stance.

After a while, Chen Yao couldn’t help but ask, “Aren’t you going to class?”

“Not going. I’d rather stay here and keep you company.”

“I think you should go to class. You can’t let my situation delay your studies!” Chen Yao declared with a sense of righteousness.

Lin Nan gave him a strange look and pursed her lips, “You never said that when you were skipping class to play games!”

Well, of course! Back then, skipping class meant playing games or basketball. Now, if she skipped class to be at home, I couldn’t even get out of bed to take a leak without asking her permission!

He paused, then tentatively said, “I’ve been lying down too long; my bones feel a bit uncomfortable.”

“Then just roll around under the covers for a bit and stretch. It’s cold now, and if you get out of bed, you’ll make it worse,” Lin Nan advised seriously.

Making it worse is just about you stealing my blanket at night!

He lay back on the bed, feeling utterly miserable. Being sick was really painful. He wanted to do something, even if he couldn’t play basketball, but just getting out and about instead of laying around like a slug every day.

“What do you want for lunch?” Lin Nan inquired.

“Anything is fine, I guess?”

“How about some porridge? Good for your stomach.”

Chen Yao’s face changed. After being forced to have porridge for three days last week thanks to a slap, his bruises were still visible, and now he was sick again and had to eat porridge?

I’m practically sick of it already!

“Porridge doesn’t help the stomach! That’s pseudoscience!” Chen Yao protested vehemently, getting up in a hurry to search online for evidence to show Lin Nan. “Look, the internet says porridge doesn’t actually help the stomach! I should be drinking more milk and eating more meat to boost my immunity!”

“Is that so…” Lin Nan pondered, “But I want porridge.”

Why didn’t you say that earlier? Now, I have no comeback!

Chen Yao fell back onto the bed.

“Why do I feel like you’re unhappy even though I’m taking care of you?” Lin Nan frowned as she looked at his utterly defeated eyes.

“I’m very happy!” he said, forcing a smile while lying in bed, “It’s just that being sick makes me a bit weak.”

“Oh, I see?”

Lin Nan suddenly felt satisfied and stretched her arms as she got out of bed.

From the back, Lin Nan’s waist and hips formed an astonishing curve, and as she stretched, the hem of her shirt lifted just enough to reveal a hint of fair skin.

Chen Yao’s brain went into overdrive.

“I’m stepping out for a bit, got something to take care of.”

“Out?” Chen Yao perked up instantly, clearing the unsuitable thoughts from his mind as he looked at Lin Nan putting on her jacket with a regretful expression. “But I’ll be so bored at home all alone!”

Lin Nan turned around, hesitating. “Should I not go then?”

“Go! I insist! And grab me a bottle of cola on the way!”

She smiled sweetly, “I’ll be back quickly. Stay put in bed and don’t run off. If you want anything else, text me, or I won’t remember!”

“I know.”

He watched Lin Nan leave the bedroom and felt an instant wave of relief wash over him.

Lin Nan headed downstairs, walked out of the alley, and began scanning the sides of the streets, searching for Li Na’s rental apartment.

Her memory wasn’t the best; it had been months since she’d visited.

She had somewhat forgotten which alley the rental apartment was in.

Though it was said that that Holy Light Spell could cause overactive immune responses, for now, it was just a possibility. You couldn’t apply all planet Earth’s concepts to magic, after all.

It required more understanding.

After all, this magic represented an ability that meant most illnesses could not defeat her relatives and friends in the future.

After searching for a while, Lin Nan finally found Li Na’s rental apartment, knocked on the door, and was quickly greeted by Li Na who opened it.

She had already given a heads-up before arriving.

“Why is Lilith here too?” As soon as she entered, Lin Nan saw Lilith playing with the cats.

She was on all fours, wiggling her b*tt as she held a catnip lollipop, teasing Cola and Sprite with it while making some incomprehensible meowing sounds. It looked pretty cute, but the problem was…

You’re a witch!

Compared to her last visit, this rental apartment had gained a huge wardrobe, and there was a lively atmosphere. The rice cooker, induction stove, and scattered bowls and chopsticks cluttered on the small table in the corner, the floor looked freshly mopped but still had some water stains, and outside the window, there were several sets of clothes drying. Clearly, Li Na and the others frequently stayed here.

“Aren’t you guys staying in the dormitory?”

“Occasionally. We just come here to crash after roll call. Lilith isn’t very popular in the dorm,” Li Na said with a chuckle, pointing at a pair of long pants on the bed. “Last night when she climbed over the wall, her pants got snagged on the fence. I was even thinking of buying a sewing machine to help her fix it.”

“Can’t you just use magic?”

“You know it’s not possible to replenish magical energy here; we have to conserve a bit,” Li Na said, walking over to the wardrobe and opening it, making space. “Look! This is what you should wear!”

A backless evening gown, a deep V long skirt, a super short sailor dress…

Lin Nan turned around and walked straight out.
