351. Next Time for Sure
==============================
Returning to the rental apartment felt just like coming home.
Yesterday, around seven, Lin Nan and Chen Yao returned to their rental apartment outside school, grabbed some dinner, and crashed into bed around ten, only to wake up near noon.
Lin Nan was lounging comfortably in bed, enjoying the weekend and relishing the rare chance to sleep in.
Chen Yao was sitting nearby, leaning against the headboard, furrowing his brows while staring at his phone.
“I want curry chicken rice for lunch,” Lin Nan said, flipping over onto her stomach, propping herself up with her hands. “Why are you frowning so much today? What’s bothering you?”
“Just that thing I mentioned yesterday,” Chen Yao shrugged. “I’m trying to think of which good-looking classmate I can persuade to dress up in girl’s clothes for a video.”
“Like how you persuaded me back then?”
Chen Yao immediately shook his head, declaring, “I can’t be blamed for that! You were the one dragging me into it!”
“Ha~”
Though she pretended to be dismissive, Lin Nan couldn’t help but get curious about the idea of tormenting others with the thought of cross-dressing. “So, who do you think would look good in girl’s clothes?”
“Well, that’s hard to say,” Chen Yao pondered, shaking his head. “We can’t even do makeup ourselves. If we could, the options would be endless. We have to stick to someone with a face that would look decent in girl’s clothes, like you back then.”
Thanks to the trauma of having been forced into a dress herself once, Lin Nan sat up excitedly and peeked at Chen Yao’s phone, which displayed the ID photos of their classmates—the kind you see on student IDs.
“Where’d you get these?”
“When we made the student IDs, Zheng Qian gave them to me. He said to check if the names and photos matched.”
Since the photos were taken after a grueling military training session during the noon heat, everyone looked half-dead—definitely not the prettiest pictures.
Cross-dressing? Lin Nan could definitely pull it off or just grab some girl to help her out, but the thought of forcing someone else to dress up like that was oddly thrilling.
Suddenly, she understood why Liu Xuefei had so eagerly helped her with makeup when she learned about Lin Nan’s cross-dressing plans.
“For makeup, we could ask Liu Xuefei… um, never mind. That girl charges money and is super annoying,” Lin Nan grumbled, pointing at a more reserved classmate on the screen. “What about this one?”
Chen Yao zoomed in on the photo, thought for a moment, and shook his head. “Not really. I don’t know him well enough; he seems pretty introverted.”
“True, he’s even more invisible than I was back in the day.”
After a long deliberation, the two exchanged a helpless glance.
Finding a good-looking male classmate for this was harder than they thought. Most would fail due to their round faces, small eyes, or flat noses that no amount of beauty filters could fix, leaving them with two unfamiliar classmates who definitely wouldn’t do.
“Why don’t you just do it yourself?” Chen Yao grinned as he looked up.
“Why don’t you do it yourself? I’m done posing for the camera.”
“What if I promise to get you KFC?”
Lin Nan almost gave in to the temptation but stood her ground. “I think it’s better to help others step into a new world!”
“How about just finding some girl to dress up?” she suggested.
“The problem is, you’ve already been on camera—they all know you…”
She shook her head vigorously. “You never said it was you dressing up! You didn’t mention it at all!”
As Chen Yao contemplated, he realized the only promise he made was about cross-dressing for 200,000 followers. He had never stated that he himself would dress up at that milestone.
Instantly, he felt better about the whole situation.
Meanwhile, Lin Nan suddenly remembered a male student she knew who had delicate features and a lovely oval face.
Plus, judging by his looks, he’d be an easy sell!
“What about that junior I met last semester? You’ve seen him too; I think he’d be perfect,” Lin Nan said with a friendly smile. “I even played some games with him the other day…”
“What?” Chen Yao blurted, suddenly raising his voice.
Lin Nan’s train of thought got derailed, and she stared at him, bewildered. “Can’t I even play games with a friend?”
“Anyone except Zheng Qian and that junior is fine!”
“I get Zheng Qian… that junior is just learning support from me!” Lin Nan frowned. “Plus, he looks like a total bookworm—it should be easy to trick him.”
Chen Yao looked at her wordlessly, letting out a long sigh.
See, this is what happens when you’re naive.
Had I not stepped in back then, you might have been tricked into counting cash for that guy by now.
If I weren’t somewhat conscientious, you wouldn’t even know how many times I’d taken advantage of you.
“That guy’s a total poser.”
“Is he?” Lin Nan wasn’t even surprised.
Stretching out, she flopped onto Chen Yao’s lap, crossing her long legs, and mumbled, “Why not give it a shot? I think he has the potential to be a cross-dressing king.”
If that junior followed Lin Nan’s lead and dressed up as a girl, he might end up looking just as good as she did.
“You don’t even know his name.” Chen Yao instinctively propped up Lin Nan’s head with one hand while using the other to scroll through his phone, planning to order lunch.
Lin Nan envied Chen Yao’s large hands—probably from all that basketball. His hands were not only big but also had long fingers, allowing him to easily palm a basketball and use his phone one-handed without breaking a sweat.
Compared to her short, chubby fingers… she wished for nice, long fingers too, instead of needing both hands just to hold a tiny iPhone 6.
Suddenly, she resolved to lose weight below 100 pounds. That way, her fingers wouldn’t look so chubby.
“How about a veggie salad for lunch?” Lin Nan suggested again.
“What’s with the sudden health kick?” Chen Yao was nearly about to pay for the curry rice.
Looking down at Lin Nan resting on his lap, he suddenly lifted her head with one hand and leaned in to kiss her.
“Hey, I didn’t mean to—” Lin Nan’s words were caught off guard, and her mouth was suddenly invaded, sending odd sensations coursing through her body.
Panicking, she took a moment to regain her composure.
“Ugh!” She glared at him, kicking her legs in protest, but Chen Yao, eyes closed, didn’t even notice her struggles.
Her body grew softer, and as she started to lack oxygen, she became increasingly weak, eventually giving in to Chen Yao’s rhythm.
Only after a long time did Chen Yao pull back, a triumphant grin plastered on his face. “That’s what you get for being wishy-washy!”
Lin Nan gasped, swatting his hand away, sitting up indignantly, and exclaimed, “Could you let me prepare first? You scared the life out of me!”
“Next time for sure.”
