### Chapter 385: Outing
Lin Nan originally thought all she had to do was cook three meals a day for Lilith until Li Na came back.
And while that was true, she certainly didn’t expect Lilith to be such a bottomless pit!
Her expression soured as she recalled Lilith’s eating habits over the past few weeks—this girl could rival three grown men working hard labor!
Chen Yao could easily stuff himself with those takeout sets that cost around ten or twenty bucks, but Lilith? She required three whole servings just to feel kinda satisfied.
Normally, takeout for two would only cost them around thirty bucks, especially since there were plenty of cheap options around the school. But once Lilith entered the equation, the price of a meal shot up to seventy or eighty, resulting in at least a hundred a day!
This girl could probably compete in a food-eating contest!
And despite gobbling down so much food, there wasn’t even a hint of her getting fat.
Lin Nan suspected that Li Na must’ve thrown Lilith out for eating them out of house and home!
No wonder Wang Rui, the guy next door, looked at Lilith with such disdain every time—she previously thought he was just inferior, but now it dawned on her that Wang Rui knew he couldn’t afford to keep Lilith!
Fast forward to the Labor Day holiday.
On the first day of the holiday, Lilith came knocking on Lin Nan’s door right on time for lunch.
“I’m starving! Is the food ready?!” clutching a cola, she sashayed in with all the subtlety of a freight train. “Today, I want braised pork!”
“Give me a break!” Lin Nan grimaced, turning back to the sofa. “You’ll eat us into the poorhouse! Today, it’s instant noodles—no meat left!”
In just half a month, their food expenses skyrocketed—tripled in fact! Lilith had already consumed nearly a thousand bucks worth of food!
If she’d known, she’d have let the girl starve!
“Just noodles?” Lilith frowned, thought for a second, and then dutifully retreated from Lin Nan’s rental apartment, knocking on the wall to Wang Rui’s place next door. “Time to treat me!”
For some reason, Lin Nan felt oddly embarrassed.
She covered her face with her hands and sighed deeply.
Chen Yao had just finished editing and uploaded his video to Bilibili. Coming out of his room, he saw Lin Nan looking like a deflated balloon and was puzzled, until he heard Lilith in the hallway and pieced it all together.
“Ah, it’s fine. This girl has been a handful for a while,” he said, retrieving two packets of instant noodles from the coffee table, giving Lin Nan a wry smile. “We’ve been eaten out of house and home—straight to the noodles.”
“In a couple of days, my mom will transfer some cash, and I start five days of tutoring today, so we should be okay for food,” Lin Nan mumbled. “At least enough to eat!”
“My earnings from Bilibili are ready for withdrawal too—should be a few thousand,” Chen Yao shook his head. “But as long as Lilith is here, we’re doomed to be broke.”
Mainly, it was the popularity boost from Lin Qi’s cross-dressing video that brought in all those clicks; otherwise, he wouldn’t have seen this much income. Gotta thank Lilith for encouraging Lin Qi to dress up!
Not only did Lilith have a massive appetite, but she also had high standards—whatever was expensive, she wanted, and her favorites got old after just two tries—spoiled and picky.
“Maybe we should film some eating contest videos? Who knows, we might make some of her food expenses back.”
As Lin Nan said this, she realized the hallway had fallen silent. Curious, she peeked outside and saw Lilith walking into Wang Rui’s room grinning like a Cheshire cat.
Even though she knew Lilith and Wang Rui hadn’t really interacted much, she couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something peculiar about their relationship.
It was hard to erase the image of Lilith partying every night from her mind; seeing her smile at any man made Lin Nan think that Lilith definitely had ulterior motives.
By the way, is there even a reproductive barrier between otherworlders and earthlings?
From the outside, they look pretty similar, but the differences must be substantial, right?
Meanwhile, Chen Yao was already boiling the noodles. He glanced at Lin Nan peeking out the door and asked, “So, Lilith went next door for dinner? I guess we don’t have to cook for her, then?”
“Yup, after we eat, I need to get ready for tutoring,” Lin Nan turned around with a bright smile. “And I might grab something good to eat afterward.”
“Eating out now feels like planning a heist,” Chen Yao chuckled.
If they had gone out to a restaurant, Lilith would definitely tag along, and with her appetite, they wouldn’t be able to handle it. Now that she was off with Wang Rui next door, they had a bit of peace.
“Let’s have some noodles to get by for now.” Chen Yao served up the cooked noodles. “It’ll take us at least two hours to get over there, and who knows if we’ll even have time for dinner.”
“While I’m tutoring, you should hit up an internet café.”
Lin Nan shut the door and happily dashed to the coffee table, devouring her noodles in a flash before bolting into her bedroom.
“Give me ten minutes!”
“Sure, I’ll wash the dishes in the meantime.”
She locked the bedroom door, popped open her suitcase, and laid out her clothes on the bed.
Because she had previously resisted skirts, Lin Nan only had two or three of those. The rest were either wide-leg pants or jeans, and in terms of summer tops, she was restricted to plain t-shirts.
She felt that going on a date with Chen Yao in such casual wear was just a bit off.
After an eternity of deliberation, she finally settled on a floral dress that wasn’t too short, hitting just around the knee and revealing her lovely little white legs.
The bodice was slightly form-fitting, making her waist appear especially slender.
After fiddling around for what felt like hours, she finally deemed it cute enough and turned to the bathroom. There, she plucked some stray eyebrow hairs with a pair of tweezers, washed her face, applied sunscreen, and finished up with a gentle blush from the lipstick Chen Yao gifted her.
“Hmm, should be fine, right?”
She could barely manage makeup, but this was the best she could do.
Tilting her head slightly and smiling at her reflection—a charming girl in the mirror—she felt a strange pang in her heart.
How did a perfectly normal boy turn into this?
She had completely adjusted to life as a woman… not just physically, but mentally as well. She even found it hard to understand why she was so adamant about being a man back then.
Being a girl wasn’t so bad, especially a pretty one at that!
Lifting her skirt, she twirled around; the girl in the mirror swirled with her, looking even cuter and more lively, making it hard to look away.
If only her face weren’t so soft and her chest so flat, ugh.
Lin Nan felt she’d be better suited to a sexy mature woman style, but her height wasn’t letting that happen.
“Are you almost done?” Chen Yao called from outside. “You not wearing any makeup should take less time!”
“I’m coming, I’m coming!”
She rushed out of the bathroom, swung open the door, and walked to the living room while grumbling, “Other girls can spend hours getting ready with makeup, right? I’ve never seen their boyfriends getting impatient.”
“The thing is, you didn’t even put on makeup,” Chen Yao laughed, poking her forehead playfully. “Dressing up all pretty to go out—how many girls are you planning to make jealous?”
Lin Nan casually linked her arm with Chen Yao’s, picked up her little handbag from the TV cabinet, smiled brightly at him, and then immediately noticed something different about him today: “You fixed your hair, didn’t you?”
“Handsome, right? I borrowed some gel from Bear!”
“Does he even have that much hair to need gel?!”
