I Don’t Want to Be Turned into a Girl by Magic – Chapter 436

443. Chaotic Thoughts

==============================

Chen Yao left, and Lin Nan jumped up to take a shower.

Even though she hadn’t really sweated during their outing this afternoon, she felt like she was coated in a fine layer of dust.

After her shower, Lin Nan slipped into a nightgown and headed back to the bathroom, standing in front of the sink, diligently applying her skincare routine.

Thanks to some magical enhancement, her face was inexplicably soft and smooth like a child’s. Even after half a year of minimal skincare, her cheeks remained dewy and her skin as delicate as white jade. But who knew how long this would last? Skincare was still a must!

And all she had was some facial cleanser.

After washing her face, she added a light coat of lipstick, pursed her lips, and gave a playful, cute smile at her reflection.

Yep, Chen Yao definitely wouldn’t be able to resist such beauty!

Especially after he just tickled my feet!

Lin Nan put on a fierce expression, but it turned out to be cutely fierce instead.

“Lin Nan! Look at what I bought!”

Chen Yao’s voice rang from the living room. Lin Nan quickly masked her expression and stepped out, “What did you buy?”

“Abalone!” Chen Yao grinned while holding several bags of seafood. “Abalone, shrimp, mantis shrimp, and blue crab! I’m making a seafood feast for you tonight!”

“Can you even cook?”

“Just steaming it works! What’s so hard about that?” Chen Yao plopped the mound of seafood on the coffee table, looked up at Lin Nan, and paused. “Why are you wearing lipstick so late at night?”

Lin Nan flashed a radiant smile, causing his heart to race. “What do you think?”

Chen Yao stared blankly at Lin Nan, suddenly realizing how adorably alluring she looked in her nightgown.

“You’re not coming down with a fever, are you?”

“You’re the one who’s crazy!”

He stepped closer, placing the back of his hand on her forehead, continuing, “I mean, are you sick? You don’t feel sick, though. Your forehead isn’t even as hot as mine.”

He looked utterly puzzled, moving his hand to his own forehead, noting that Lin Nan was cooler than he was. But something about Lin Nan felt off.

“Go make dinner; I’m going to play a game,” Lin Nan said, her cheeks slightly flushed as she turned back toward the bedroom.

Being a coastal person, cooking seafood typically just involved steaming or boiling, with maybe some salt-baking making an appearance—nothing too complicated. If you have hands, you can do it.

After cleaning all the seafood and sorting it into small bowls, he placed them in a pot of water, covered it with a lid, and within a few minutes, the delicious scent of seafood wafted through the air.

But if he were from the inland, he might just smell the fishiness.

After successfully tackling that minor challenge, Chen Yao anxiously pushed open the bedroom door and peeked inside.

Something about Lin Nan tonight felt completely off. Normally, she wouldn’t even bother with lipstick in the daytime, let alone at night.

Inside, Lin Nan noticed Chen Yao, casually glanced up, but her heart inexplicably started racing even faster. “What is it?”

“The food will probably be ready in about half an hour; come in and cool off with the air conditioning.”

Chen Yao stretched and plopped down at the edge of the bed, his gaze locking onto Lin Nan’s profile with unyielding intensity.

Lin Nan was sitting at the foot of the bed, facing a rickety computer desk, hugging a husky-shaped pillow, her legs crossed on the bed, her long skirt pulling up to reveal her delicately toned legs, making Chen Yao’s mouth water like he’d just seen his favorite dessert.

Lin Nan felt a bit flustered, her face heating up, yet she pretended to keep calm, focusing intently on her computer screen.

Suddenly, doubts crept into her mind about her plans for tonight. Considering Chen Yao’s usual enthusiasm, even if she tried to scare him off with some ridiculous excuse, she wouldn’t be able to stop him.

If things escalated… it wouldn’t be the worst, but it might hurt a little.

When did she stop resisting the idea of getting frisky with Chen Yao? Oh right, it must be the influence of Lilith’s wild nightly escapades!

Her mind conjured up embarrassing thoughts of those scenes with Lilith.

Oh gosh, so shameful!

Stop staring at me, will you?!

Lin Nan whipped her head around to glare at Chen Yao. “Get out!”

“Huh? I haven’t done anything!”

“Then why are you staring at me?!”

Chen Yao replied with boldness, “What’s wrong with admiring my fiancée?!”

Right, they were engaged now.

Lin Nan was left speechless, turning back to rest her chin on her palm, her hand covering her flushed cheek, gazing back at the computer screen while her mind was in a complete jumble.

They were already fiancés, and no matter how hard she rejected the idea, eventually, she couldn’t escape it.

In a moment of naïveté, she chimed in, “How about we just stick to a platonic relationship from now on?! I think that a spiritual connection is pretty nice too!”

“Do you really think a normal guy would agree to that?” Chen Yao almost burst out laughing.

Having once been male herself, Lin Nan thought for a second and realized that most men probably wouldn’t be cool with that.

She had only a handful of male friends, and among them, they were all total pervs.

Her high school deskmate, Zhu Yong Wen, had once brought adult movies to class, and a bunch of students crowded around to watch, Chen Yao included.

Her college roommates, Tu Junhui and Xiong Da, were also infamous for sharing racy images in their dorm group chats at night. Especially Tu Junhui, who casually tossed out lewd jokes, while Xiong Da, who looked like a serious guy on the surface, sent absolutely cringe-worthy GIFs.

Back then, as a guy, Lin Nan had zero interest in the dorm group chat’s picture-sharing antics—not because she was pure-hearted, but simply because she had no pictures to share.

She shot a glance at Chen Yao, who was eyeing her like a hungry wolf, and just plopped her head on the desk despairingly. “Go buy me some alcohol.”

“Huh?”

“I said, get me some booze!”

Chen Yao’s eyes lit up instantly with excitement. “I’m on it!”

“If you end up hurting me tonight…” Lin Nan muttered under her breath.

“What did you say?”

“Get lost!” She suddenly flung her pillow at him, hitting him with a soft thud.

Chen Yao looked a bit bewildered, unsure what had just happened, but he obediently left the room, scratching his head, confused about whether Lin Nan was agreeing or disagreeing with GHS tonight.

Once Chen Yao exited the bedroom, Lin Nan collapsed onto her bed, letting out a completely nonsensical shriek of a groundhog and rolling around on the bed.

Ahhhh!!! What do I do? My heart is racing!

I feel so hot!

Will it hurt a lot? Will it?!

What if Chen Yao has some weird kinks?!

Will it be as fantastic as those memories of Lilith?

She realized deep down she was oddly a bit excited, turning her cheeks even redder.

Panic struck her as she quickly got up and locked the bedroom door.

No! No way! I can’t let things go that easily! He’s sleeping on the couch tonight!

Just buying more time if she could!
