I Don’t Want to Be Turned into a Girl by Magic – Chapter 443

### 450. Class Time

==============================

It’s Monday, and that means class is on!

Just like Pan Maoxin, Tu Junhui noticed something unusual about Lin Nan and Chen Yao the moment he laid eyes on them.

Now, while Pan Maoxin wasn’t super close to these two, Tu Junhui had lived with them for a year and a half. They sat in the same row for class, so maybe they weren’t BFFs, but they were definitely heart-to-heart buddies.

He stared wide-eyed at Lin Nan, who seemed to have an even sweeter smile than usual, and at Chen Yao, whose pale face looked like he’d seen a ghost. What on earth was going on here?!

It wasn’t that he hadn’t considered “that direction”—he just found it a bit unbelievable.

Lin Nan sat next to him, clearly a bit flustered, while Chen Yao wore a face full of satisfaction.

Seriously, how could he look so pleased when he was this pale?

Tu Junhui, feeling a wave of curiosity, yanked Chen Yao closer and whispered, “Dude, did you actually score?”

“Of course not! Don’t say that!” Chen Yao was definitely not interested in discussing Lin Nan on this topic. He would gladly chat about other girls, though. “If Lin Nan hears, you’ll be toast!”

“Yikes!” Tu Junhui glanced at Lin Nan, who was giving him a look that could fry eggs, and quickly changed the topic. “I saw you made the scholarship list! You gotta treat us to a meal!”

“Yeah, right! I spent over 400 yesterday just on my meal with Lin Nan.” Chen Yao shook his head in despair.

They had a coupon, but it was just for a free drink, and they didn’t realize they had been led astray by Pan Maoxin.

And Lin Nan, even though she didn’t seem like much, when she went all out eating, her appetite was downright terrifying.

Thank goodness she wasn’t like Lilith, who could chow down enough for a whole squad; otherwise, Chen Yao would’ve gone broke!

Lin Nan used to eat like a regular person, right?

Class finally got underway.

Chen Yao stopped chatting and pulled out his notebook and pen, focusing intently on the teacher.

Lin Nan had literally memorized this semester’s textbook from front to back; the teacher was just regurgitating textbook material and she was lost in her phone. But seeing Chen Yao so focused surprisingly caught her off guard.

Ever since college started, he hadn’t listened attentively to a single lecture.

Ever since they got engaged, though, he seemed to be taking classes seriously. Maybe something had sparked him to change?

Lin Nan rested her chin on one hand, watching the side of Chen Yao’s serious face.

This was the same look she saw when he was focused during basketball practice—way more attractive than usual.

She thought to herself, if only he could be this serious about something other than GHS at home!

Tu Junhui, noticing Chen Yao’s serious demeanor, elbowed him a couple of times. “Squad up for chicken dinner, man!”

“Not playing.”

“Then solo Hearthstone!”

“Get lost.”

“Five-man for King’s Glory, then!”

Before Chen Yao could respond further, Lin Nan’s hand shot out, smacking Tu Junhui on the back of the head over Chen Yao.

She shot him an annoyed look. “Are you out of your mind? Can’t you let Chen Yao focus?”

“Just listening to lectures makes my legs hurt! Gaming is way more fun!” Tu Junhui muttered, but given Chen Yao’s warning about the consequences of crossing Lin Nan, he quickly looked back down, shutting his mouth.

Lin Nan was feeling pretty satisfied about her reputation among her roommates and gave Chen Yao a wink, but he completely ignored her, his eyes glued to the board.

Boring!

She slumped on the desk, aimlessly tapping on her phone, then begrudgingly glanced back at Chen Yao, who was still oblivious to her attempts for attention.

Ugh, come on!

She knew it was good that Chen Yao was focused, but she couldn’t help feeling a bit restless and wanted him to chat with her.

Meanwhile, Tu Junhui and Xiong Da had teamed up for some duo chicken dinners, which didn’t excite her at all.

“Chen Yao?” Lin Nan leaned over, poking his arm, “What gift are you getting me for June 1st?”

With a helpless sigh, Chen Yao glanced at Lin Nan. “We’re in class. Pick something yourself, and we’ll talk later.”

He turned back to the teacher, leaving her with a dull conversation!

Come on!

Lin Nan grumbled to herself; Chen Yao had been thinking about getting her a June 1st gift for days, even if it was something “adult.”

Tu Junhui, overhearing their exchange, lifted his head to snicker. “You’re in college and still worried about June 1st presents?”

“What’s it to you?!” Lin Nan shot him a glare. “You wish someone would get you something!”

Tu Junhui employed the classic “attack and retreat” tactic, throwing out a roast followed by diving back into his game, leaving Lin Nan feeling like she was fighting against air. It was frustrating!

She poked Chen Yao again, sulking, “Tutu’s bullying me! Get him!”

“Stop making a scene,” Chen Yao chuckled, giving Lin Nan another glance. “Just hit him back; just don’t k*ll him.”

“Seriously?! We’ve been friends for over ten years and I’m already outbad by a mere woman!” Tu Junhui’s reaction was hilariously dramatic, like a spurned spouse.

Chen Yao sighed deeply. After being interrupted a few times, he felt like he was starting to lag behind in the lecture.

It only took a handful of glances at his notebook, and now he was struggling to catch up with what the teacher was saying.

“I’ve barely known you for two years, you know?” Since he couldn’t keep up, Chen Yao decided to lean into chaos and engage both of them in conversation. “How about squad up for some chicken?”

Suddenly, Lin Nan, who wasn’t interested earlier, eagerly agreed, proving how much company mattered when gaming.

Now Lin Nan was satisfied; Tu Junhui was happy too, leaving only Chen Yao scowling.

This was a theory class, and while the teacher earnestly explained with slides, about half the class looked like they were fishing for Wi-Fi under the desk.

Looks like it’s time for Lin Nan to give Chen Yao some tutoring. A class like this, which was largely memorization, would surely be more effective through magic.

After all, she had a unique magical tutoring skill; just look at how Pan Maoxin improved after a little help! Teaching Chen Yao should be a piece of cake.

All she needed to do was activate the magic and recite the book right into Chen Yao’s ear. Easy peasy!

She hadn’t even thought about the risk of exposing her powers. Magic was completely non-existent in this world; regular folks wouldn’t even dream of it, and they’d just assume she had a knack for teaching.

Speaking of which, her new magic was unlocked after her last “session.”

With her best friend… unlocking a short-lived pain-nullifying spell.

The first time she was “exposed,” she gained a high-level control spell.

Previously, her control spell was basically to charm men, letting them obey for half an hour but with a risk of infatuation afterward, while this new spell allowed her to give a direct command to someone, much like a repressed Lelouch’s Geass.

Though it wasn’t as powerful and only worked once per person, and there were absolutely no side effects.

Lin Nan started plotting some fun with her new magic!
