497. Chen Yao【3/60】
==============================
“Why can iron move? It clearly has no magic!”
The four of them got off the bus, and the yellow-haired guy patted the iron shell of the vehicle with a face full of wonder.
“Tasty, mmm.” The brown-haired boy had a hand-held pancake in his left hand and a mixed grain pancake in his right, crumbs flying everywhere as he chowed down.
“Why are they dressed so little?” The blue-haired youth covered his nose, eyes wide as he stared at the girls in short skirts and hot pants, feeling like he had landed in paradise. But hang around too long and he might get malnourished.
The yellow-haired guy scanned the area: “If we had this back home, someone would’ve already fainted from heat!”
Lin Nan glanced back at the three otherworlders trailing behind, each one reacting like a startled cat, and led the way into the waiting room of the train station.
After a day of hanging out, she had figured out their personalities.
The yellow-haired guy was curious but somewhat normal, the brown-haired guy was a foodie, and the blue-haired one was definitely a pervert.
As for their names, she didn’t think it was worth asking. Otherworld names were too complicated, and she couldn’t remember them, so using hair color to tell them apart was the simplest method.
They looked like ordinary East Asian guys, but their hair colors were particularly flamboyant. It screamed “delinquent” to anyone who passed by.
She raised her foot and kicked the blue-haired guy’s calf: “Stop staring! It’s rude!”
Then she pulled out a pack of tissues from her bag, eyeing him with disdain as she handed it over: “You’ve got a nosebleed…”
“Thanks.” The blue-haired guy took the tissues, lowered his head, and stopped ogling the nearby girls, switching to a more stealthy approach.
He came off even creepier now.
The three guys curiously looked around, pointing at the vast waiting hall, and whenever they found something new, they rushed over to touch it.
Lin Nan was worried the blue-haired guy would take advantage of her distraction and go for one of the lightly-dressed girls.
That’d get him arrested for sure.
She took two steps back, unwilling to let anyone think she was associated with these three.
Half an hour later, it was time to board.
As the train slowly pulled into the station, they gasped like a bunch of country bumpkins. People around them stared, convinced the trio was insane, and kept their distance.
This was tougher than babysitting.
Lin Nan wore a long face as she dragged the three of them onto the train, leading them to their seats one by one.
“Shut up on the train, sit quietly, and don’t move around.” She warned them sternly before returning to her own seat, feeling utterly defeated.
Fortunately, the next hour of their train journey didn’t cause any trouble. Once they exited the station, Li Na and Lilith were already waiting outside.
After handing off the trio of otherworldly goofballs to Li Na, Lin Nan finally breathed a sigh of relief.
God knows how tense she had felt these past two days.
But then she looked up at Lilith, and her expression changed in an instant.
Hold on, why is Lilith hugging Li Na’s arm?! And looking so blissful while doing it! Wasn’t Lilith supposed to loathe Li Na? Normally, she’d sneakily prepare a brick to attack from behind!
Lin Nan was taken aback, backing up several steps.
Does this mean Li Na has finally won over Lilith?!
Her eyes bulged as she looked incredulously at the two girls, her mouth twitching: “What’s going on with you two?”
“Your boyfriend is here too.” Li Na didn’t answer her question but pointed to Chen Yao, who was sitting on some distant stairs. “I’ll take these three along now.”
With that, Li Na cheerfully gathered the three interdimensional tourists and somehow whipped out a little flag that read “Earth Tourism Agency.”
Lin Nan watched this unfold, utterly done with life, and trudged over to Chen Yao.
Chen Yao had been watching Lin Nan for a while; he stood up with a big grin and opened his arms, pulling her into a warm embrace.
No resistance—Lin Nan found herself wrapped in his arms, a slight flush creeping onto her face as she protested, “So many people are watching.”
“It’s fine.”
They hadn’t seen each other for days, but Lin Nan felt as if it had been weeks since they last met.
This trip home had brought so many experiences, and without her boyfriend by her side, she had to silently endure everything alone.
God knows how wronged she felt after that wedding, but she could only complain to Chen Yao through her phone.
Maybe after all that, she’d learned to keep her cool through embarrassing moments, but seeing Chen Yao felt like dropping a massive weight. A sense of relief flooded over her, but suddenly all the bottled-up grievances and pressure burst forth, and her body began to shake uncontrollably.
After a moment, Chen Yao let her go, only to find that Lin Nan still clung to his waist, head buried in his chest, refusing to release him.
He rubbed her head helplessly: “I cooked some good food for you at home.”
“Mmm.” Lin Nan lifted her head, eyes watery, blinking rapidly to hold back tears.
Chen Yao brushed away one of her tears with his finger, teasing, “It’s only been a few days—no need to be this emotional, right?”
He gently grasped Lin Nan’s little hand, beaming like sunshine: “Come back home with me?”
“Yeah.” She softly agreed, but just as she was about to move, she suddenly felt a gentle bite on her cheek.
The mild pain and dampness left her dazed for a moment before she hurriedly looked down at her toes, wiping away the drool on her face, her face turning crimson with embarrassment as she snapped: “What’s wrong with you?! Does that even hurt?! It’s just drool!”
“It’s been a while since we kissed.” Chen Yao’s voice was a bit hoarse.
Lin Nan cursed in her heart, ready to argue that it wasn’t a kiss, but as she stole a glance around them, she noticed many onlookers gazing and whispering about them.
This made her feel even more mortified. She tugged at Chen Yao’s hand and headed towards the lower level of the train station: “Let’s hurry! So many people are staring!”
“What’s there to be shy about?” Chen Yao wore an expression that said he couldn’t care less as Lin Nan pulled him along.
“The FFF Group will roast us alive!”
The first basement level connected to the train station’s parking lot. Chen Yao used his phone to summon a ride, and while they waited, Lin Nan stood in a corner, still embarrassed from earlier, fiddling with her phone but unable to keep herself from sneaking glances at Chen Yao.
After a moment, she lowered her head, making small talk: “Have you been out looking for other girls these past few days?”
“Of course not! I just stayed at home like a good boy! I only went out in the evenings to play basketball or something.”
Lin Nan looked up skeptically. This guy had basically turned into a teddy bear—how had he held out for days?
“What’s with that look? I’m a gentleman, okay?”
“Then I guess tonight is off the table?”
Hearing this, Chen Yao immediately flipped out, shaking his head vigorously: “No way!”
