553. Turned into a Guy? 【8/30】
==============================
Chen Yao crawled out of bed, his body creaking like an ancient door.
He stretched lazily, tossed the crumpled tissues into the trash can, and glanced back at Lin Nan, tightly cocooned in the blankets and still snoozing away.
Then he eyed the flag (aka his dignity), shook his head vigorously, stood up, and trudged into the bathroom.
Ah, still a bit too young and reckless.
Gotta reign it in from now on, yes indeed.
Otherwise, in a few years, paying taxes might feel like an ultimate quest.
The commotion of getting out of bed roused Lin Nan. Yawning, she stretched her arms from under the covers, revealing her fair shoulders, her eyes still blurry as she asked Chen Yao, “What time is it?”
“Half past eight.”
“Perfect, I need to meet Chen Ya at nine.” Lin Nan sighed dramatically, “Let me borrow some of your clothes. I need to use magic to turn into a guy!”
Grandpa has some of Lin Nan’s boy clothes, but since she came over to Chen Yao’s place dressed like a girl, it’s not like she stashed her boy wardrobe here.
Chen Yao strolled out of the bathroom with a toothbrush hanging from his mouth, rifled through his closet, and tossed her a few of his smallest outfits.
“Go to the bathroom, shut the door, and no peeking!”
“Am I that kind of person?” Chen Yao mumbled, “If I wanted to look, I’d do it openly.”
Once he disappeared into the bathroom, Lin Nan threw off the covers, her delicate skin directly exposed to the air, standing on the bed without a stitch on.
Looking down, she noticed a few bruises, those infamous love bites.
Grumbling about Chen Yao under her breath, she put on some underwear, skipped the bra, and slipped into the borrowed T-shirt and shorts.
The shorts fit fine thanks to their stretchy elastic, so even with Lin Nan’s slim waist, they wouldn’t slide down after two steps; but those knee-length shorts? Now they looked more like capris on her.
And Chen Yao’s tight T-shirt? On her, it morphed into a hip-hop style that covered her rear.
When she transformed into a guy, it should fit better, right?
After Chen Yao finished washing up, he opened the door and spotted Lin Nan standing at the foot of his bed.
“Doesn’t fit very well…”
“Can’t be helped. It’s gonna have to do,” Lin Nan yawned again, “The transformation into a guy lasts only an hour, so call me fifteen minutes in advance.”
“Sure, want to grab breakfast before heading out?”
Lin Nan shook her head, rubbed her tired eyes, her legs wobbling as she tiptoed into the bathroom: “No time for breakfast after washing up.”
Standing in front of the mirror, Lin Nan realized the T-shirt hung too long, and the neckline was way too loose for her. Her collarbone was fully exposed, with those telltale marks barely showing through.
She tugged at the neckline in disgust, covering the marks with the fabric.
And then, with a flick of her wrist, she cast her magic to become a guy.
The familiar tingle spread through her body. Her already shaky legs faltered as she took two steps back and plopped down onto the toilet lid, brows furrowing as she felt the awkwardness of her new body.
Previously, as a guy, she’d turned into a girl twice, and now being a girl again, she had to revert back to a guy.
The first time using magic to become a girl was thrilling and exciting, but this reversal felt instinctively repulsive.
The magic completed its readout.
She peeked down and tugged at the waistband.
Well, the little buddy that had gone ‘traveling’ for the year was back.
But instead of being overjoyed, she felt a bizarre mix of nausea creep into her mind.
That… thing down there made her heart squirm, making it hard to accept.
Guess her mind had already completely shifted to that of a girl, huh?
Any other normal girl would struggle to accept this little addition even more.
She slapped her flat chest, still trying to get used to it.
Even if she truly transformed back into a boy now, she figured she’d still have a girl’s heart in a boy’s body—unless she got some memories like Lilith to influence her gender identity.
Standing up to face the mirror, she realized her height hadn’t changed much, her hair was considerably shorter, and her face looked… well, it resembled the day after she had turned into a girl, still very feminine but with faint hints of masculinity.
This magic? Felt like no difference at all, just less chest, shorter hair, and a runaway little thing added to the mix.
The feeling of tightness down below was downright odd.
Lin Nan quickly canceled the magic. Watching herself in the mirror, her long hair restored, she felt a wave of relief wash over her as the discomfort dissipated. Finally, she pushed the bathroom door open.
“What’s up?” Chen Yao was at his computer, looking up at Lin Nan, but saw no changes.
“That magic— I’m not a fan…”
“Hmm?”
“It’s gross.” She pouted, looking a bit down.
Chen Yao blinked: “Gross?”
“Yeah.” Lin Nan glanced toward his lower half.
Realization hit Chen Yao: “But you liked it last night!”
Lin Nan picked up a slipper, ready to throw it, but Chen Yao quickly said, “Didn’t you nearly lose it when you turned into a girl?”
Now Chen Yao knew when Lin Nan had transformed into a girl—probably at the end of the last semester.
“That’s different now.” Lin Nan dropped the slipper, glancing down at her boy clothes, frowning as she contemplated how to hide her chest.
Her hair was easy; just like last time, wear a big hat and tie it up on top.
Some loopholes, sure, but she could tell Chen Ya she was an art student.
The real issue was hiding the chest.
But just meeting Chen Ya for half an hour to an hour, even if there were loopholes, she doubted Chen Ya would make a fuss.
Lin Nan opened the closet and picked out a jacket from Chen Yao’s clothes.
“Isn’t it too eye-catching to wear a jacket in summer? What if she asks?” Chen Yao reclined with his legs crossed, watching Lin Nan’s silhouette, “Shouldn’t we just use magic? I mean, you’d only be a guy for an hour. Just hold on a bit?”
“It’s just that I look too much like a girl, and I don’t want to tan,” Lin Nan turned to him earnestly, “She liked me before, and who knows what this visit is about. If looking too feminine drives her away, that’s not so bad.”
But revealing that she turned into a girl? No way, too embarrassing, considering she was once pursued by this girl.
“But what if she actually likes this style?”
Lin Nan froze for a moment, putting on the jacket, contemplating before her mood darkened: “Let’s see when we get there?”
After all, these days young people are influenced by K-pop idols, who knows, they might just like that androgynous style.
But it probably wouldn’t be that extreme? Those K-pop stars weren’t that feminine compared to her.
Jacket on, hair up with a hat, and she did her best to hide her neck and sideburns, and voila! She looked like a neat and tidy… girl.
“Ah well, this will have to do,” Lin Nan conceded, feeling out of options.
