626. Wedding Photoshoot【7/10】
==============================
“Make sure it’s a grand affair! Huge!”
“Right! Even if it’s not on a luxury cruise or in a European cathedral, at least it has to be a five-star hotel! Fireworks worth several million! That’s what makes a statement!”
“The more people you invite, the better! Call all your classmates from childhood—kindergarten, preschool! Not one can be left out!”
“Everyone needs to know you’re marrying into a good family!”
With a face as red as a tomato, Uncle slammed the table, strongly opposing Lin Nan and Chen Yao’s ideas.
But Aunt, sitting nearby, gently tapped his head: “You’ve watched too many idol dramas! What age are you now, still thinking like a kid?”
“Dad, stop drinking and eat some vegetables,” Chen Yao helplessly pushed a plate of peanuts in front of Uncle.
Lin Nan was bewildered, while Chen Yao leaned back in his chair, wearing a knowing smile. “I told you, who gets married just by having a dinner at home? Our parents would definitely disagree.”
“I just don’t want to go overboard and waste money. Besides, I don’t really know many people…”
Wearing a casual women’s suit, Lin Nan let out a sigh.
“It’s like you’re still hoarding money like a miser from a few years back,” Aunt critiqued Lin Nan’s attitude. “Money’s meant to be spent! If not, it’s just a pile of useless paper.”
But thinking more about it, inviting the important relatives and friends for a meal wouldn’t really cost that much.
Who needs to throw a wedding costing tens of thousands?
The class teacher, sitting across the table, noticed Lin Nan’s slightly reluctant expression and playfully suggested, “Weddings come with gifts! Three hundred per person—one table could bring in three thousand! That’s enough to cover the banquet costs!”
“What if you run into a few rich folks? The extra money is all yours!”
Sounds pretty reasonable, right?
Lin Nan looked up at her mother sitting next to the class teacher and smirked, “Since it makes so much money, why don’t you two consider organizing a wedding yourselves?”
Her idea for a small wedding was clearly inspired by her mother and the class teacher.
When they got married years ago, it was just a couple of important family members and friends—two tables at Grandpa’s house for a meal.
Chen Yao had slimmed down quite a bit compared to a few years ago, and his face had matured, yet he lounged in a relaxed, carefree manner.
Lin Nan had matured as well; her baby fat was gone, her hair slightly curled and dyed a caramel color, exuding a gentle and graceful aura.
The wedding room in the provincial city was already in use, and Lin Nan and Chen Yao had been living there ever since they graduated, working and settling down.
Luckily, Aunt picked a great location; the area was filled with tech firms, making job hunting easy for Chen Yao.
He had dived headfirst into a small gaming studio, working as a 3D model artist. He had just been confirmed as a full-time employee, earning a meager four thousand, and developing a domestic indie game with just five people in the entire studio. It was rough.
Lin Nan knew there wasn’t much of a future in single-player games, but she still showed her support.
After graduation, Lin Nan had started at an English training center but quit due to some stress. Now, she was interviewing at a notorious private middle school, and from the principal’s hints, it seemed she could be preparing for an internship soon.
With Lin Nan, Chen Yao, their mother, the class teacher, Uncle, and Aunt—six people started discussing the upcoming wedding.
“So, aren’t you two going to take wedding photos first?” Aunt asked, glancing up.
Lin Nan didn’t have much enthusiasm for wedding dresses compared to other girls; she just yawned and nodded.
“The wedding photos are booked. We’re shooting today!” Chen Yao was particularly excited, imagining Lin Nan dressed up in her bridal gown, and his face began to blush.
Her mother nodded, asking, “What time?”
“Just an hour from now,” Chen Yao replied with a cheerful grin.
Her mother glanced at Lin Nan, who clearly put in extra effort for her appearance today.
Years had passed, and the bond between Lin Nan and Chen Yao had only strengthened.
Her mother quietly observed her daughter, noting how Lin Nan consistently held Chen Yao’s arm, her smile particularly warm, while Chen Yao, though expressionless, gazed at Lin Nan with tender eyes.
These two seemed to only have eyes for each other; they could be oblivious to their own parents!
If her mother didn’t know they had known each other for over ten years, she might have mistaken them for a couple in the euphoric stage of their relationship.
As for the wedding sh**t, Lin Nan felt a bit nervous.
Most wedding dresses were off-the-shoulder or strapless with bare backs, and over the years, aside from when she was with Chen Yao, she always dressed modestly.
Even during summer, she would wear shorts and short sleeves; after all, with magic on her side, the heat didn’t bother her.
To prepare for today’s sh**t, she even treated herself to nail art for the first time and opted for a comfortable pair of sports shoes, while donning an invisible bra.
Chen Yao, on the other hand, had tidied up early in the morning, looking particularly spirited and eagerly anticipating Lin Nan’s bridal appearance.
Time flew by, and Lin Nan and Chen Yao arrived early at the photo studio, ready to go.
Chen Yao’s makeup was minimal; he used some products to cover his oily shine, tidied up his eyebrows and nostrils, and soon donned a sharp suit provided by the studio, waiting in the shooting room.
He felt a mixture of anxiety and excitement, occasionally glancing towards the makeup room.
Eventually, a stunning figure in a white wedding dress appeared before him.
He sprang to his feet and strode over.
Lin Nan had her long hair styled neatly up high, with an off-the-shoulder wedding dress that beautifully displayed her delicate collarbones and fair shoulders. Her skin glowed with a faint blush as she lowered her head, her cheeks reddening with bashfulness.
The lacy white gown hugged her upper body perfectly, accentuating her figure, while the flowing skirt obscured her feet, gently swaying as she walked.
“Look up.”
That non-negotiable voice broke through her thoughts, prompting Lin Nan to lift her flushed face.
Chen Yao looked dapper today.
Seeing Chen Yao, who was looking down at her, Lin Nan’s cheeks felt like they were about to burst into flames. She bit her lip, gazing with sparkling eyes at her fiancé.
“You look beautiful.” Chen Yao beamed, trying to contain his excitement, extending a hand, “Shall we?”
“Uh-huh.”
Lin Nan tentatively placed her gloved hand in Chen Yao’s, and asked cautiously, “How about we skip the outdoor sh**t?”
“Sure.”
Without hesitation, Chen Yao nodded, “A beautiful bride like you is for my eyes only.”
