Extras: Three
==============================
Chen Jing’s room is on the second floor, right next to Lin Nan and Chen Yao’s bedroom. It’s a cramped little space.
This room was his paradise as a child, filled with all kinds of toys. As he grew up, it gained a single bed, a wardrobe, and a desk.
Other than that, nothing more.
There are two computers in the house, but both are in the entertainment room downstairs. The collection of game consoles is a sight to behold; since the two got married, they haven’t missed a single console release.
Honestly, every time he sees his parents glued to the game consoles together, his heart aches a little.
But today, his parents aren’t sticking around.
They set off together to Shanghai to attend the S Tournament that has been held for over twenty years now.
He’s been left at home with the pets and on summer vacation, and it has been a solid half-month since they left.
“It’s getting ridiculous…” Chen Jing slouched on the sofa, fiddling with his phone as he grumbled, “They used to just go for a couple of days for the finals, and now not only do they watch the matches, but they also take a half-month vacation in Shanghai.”
“It’s like I don’t even exist in their eyes…” He sighed, but suddenly heard the doorbell ring.
With a spark of joy, he jumped up, thinking his parents might’ve come back early.
Dad really misses me after all!
But when he opened the door, he found two young girls waiting outside.
One girl was about his mother’s height, with a cherub-like face of a fourteen or fifteen-year-old. The other girl was tall and slender, her icy demeanor emphasized by her super short denim shorts, which made a sixteen-year-old high schooler struggle to keep his cool.
It’s worth mentioning that thanks to Chen Yao’s influence over the years, Chen Jing also has a bit of a leg obsession.
And not just legs; he’s into mature women, lolis, flat-chested girls, big-chested girls… to put it simply, he’s a bit of a perv.
“Who are you?” Chen Jing asked, trying to recall if he knew these two beauties.
If these girls were in his school, they’d definitely be the school goddesses, rivaling his mother’s looks.
Suddenly, he felt a bit suspicious.
Could they be salespeople?
“We’re looking for Lin Nan,” the slightly shorter girl with the cherub face giggled as she looked at Chen Jing.
For some reason, Chen Jing saw a glimmer of warmth and affection in her eyes, reminiscent of the way his grandparents looked at their beloved grandchildren.
He felt a bit dazed. “Looking for my mom?”
“You are definitely her son, right?” Li Na turned to whisper to Lilith, “What if we changed him into a girl…”
“I think I’d be more suited to be the Saintess,” Lilith crossed her arms, giving her a sideways glance. “You’d actually make a better witch than me.”
Chen Jing couldn’t understand what they were saying, and after a moment of hesitation, he decided to treat them as a couple of quirky girls.
“Lin Nan isn’t home, huh?” Li Na asked him again.
“Probably back by evening… if she’s not out having a nice dinner with my dad,” Chen Jing replied, a hint of bitterness creeping into his tone.
Let’s be honest, when Mom goes out to eat fancy, she never brings leftovers for him to try.
She probably doesn’t have enough for herself either…
“Come on in.” Despite his confusion about how these two knew his mom, his suspicion faded at the sight of their faces. He grabbed two pairs of slippers from the shoe rack and placed them on the floor.
Once they entered, Chen Jing noticed that these two strangers seemed highly familiar with his home, swiftly locating two cold bottles of cola from the fridge and some snacks from the dining room cabinet. Their elderly pet, Lemon, rushed over to them excitedly.
This parrot used to flap around a lot, but now that it’s older, it just prefers walking.
It loves to treat people as elevators or transportation.
“Where’s Cola?” Lilith looked around the living room for the black cat.
“Cola passed away a few years ago,” Chen Jing stood beside the sofa, feeling that these two girls were acting a bit strange.
Lilith shook her head with a look of regret. “It was in great shape a decade ago… I told you we should’ve taken it back, but you insisted we didn’t.”
“A decade ago?”
Li Na looked up at Chen Jing with a smile. Though she attended Lin Nan’s wedding, it had been a long time since she last visited, making this their first meeting.
One thing’s for sure: Chen Jing inherited a lot of his mother’s good traits. He had slightly alluring big eyes, a chubby little face, and even though he was in his awkward teenage years, his skin remained smooth and tender. He was quite the fitting candidate for cross-dressing.
But his facial contours were a bit harsh, and that straight nose definitely came from his father.
This was a much better foundation than Lin Nan had back then.
“If your mom isn’t back, we’ll just wait here,” Li Na crossed her legs, acting as if she belonged.
But that only made Chen Jing feel more anxious.
With the self-assuredness they had, they couldn’t possibly be relatives asking for money, could they?
Or worse, freeloaders?
Could they be the future wives his mom picked out for him when he was still in her womb?
Eh? That doesn’t sound too bad. No matter who, they’re both pretty.
Lost in thought, Chen Jing watched the two girls from the side, scared they might steal something from his house and just run off.
He had learned street fighting, and even though he looked delicate, he had toned muscles under his clothes. He thought dealing with two defenseless girls would be easy… except for his mom.
He only learned street fighting during his rebellious phase. After bursting with confidence, he challenged his mom one day, then got smacked on the head and ended up in the hospital.
They said it was a hairline fracture… Mom really knows how to pick a meaty spot to hit. Doesn’t she worry about knocking him stupid?
Finally, at six in the evening, the front door creaked open again.
His eternally youthful-looking mother stepped in and her eyes sparkled like a schoolgirl’s as she dashed toward him.
Mom missed me!
Of course, she did! After all, she hadn’t seen her son in half a month!
Chen Jing stepped forward, ready to ask his mom for a gift, only to see her zoom past him and envelop the two girls in a hug.
This…
He looked over at his dad, bewildered.
Is Mom cheating on Dad and just had two sisters?
His father’s expression was decidedly unfriendly. After shutting the door, he crossed his arms and glared at the two girls.
Please, don’t tell me they’re my half-sisters. Why else would Dad be so against it?
“So, what are you two doing here?” Chen Yao asked helplessly.
Here it comes!
Chen Jing obediently stood in the corner, preparing to watch a family drama unfold, while his imagination churned out a bunch of bizarre scenarios.
Mom had a wild youthful fling and produced a pair of daughters, but then married my good ol’ Dad and had me. However, her past lovers died unexpectedly, leaving her two sister-daughters searching for support here!
Their trip to Shanghai for half a month was probably an attempt to avoid those two.
Though it feels a bit bad to criticize his parents, this storyline is downright juicy!
“Chen Jing.”
He suddenly looked up, dazed, at his mother.
Lin Nan picked up a bottle of cola and threw it at him. “I can tell by your expression that you weren’t thinking anything good!”
Chen Jing gasped, dodging with lightning speed.
The next second, that bottle of cola smashed against the wall, twisting and embedding itself into the surface.
“Lin Nan, that’s gonna be expensive to fix…” Chen Yao resignedly walked over and sank into a chair beside Lin Nan.
“This kid’s definitely thinking something weird! I know he has a few worms in his head,” Lin Nan muttered, “We’ll just deduct it from his red envelopes next New Year.”
With that, she turned her attention back to Li Na. “So, what brings you two here this time?”
“We were just hanging out and suddenly realized it had been a while since we saw you, so we thought we’d drop by,” Li Na said with a smile. “Didn’t expect you to even have a son now, and he’s so handsome!”
“Don’t you dare try to hit on my son, I haven’t even dressed him like a girl yet!” Lin Nan waved at Chen Jing. “Come over and meet them. This is your Aunt Li Na, and this is Aunt Lilith.”
“Aunt?” Chen Jing blinked, then suddenly figured it out.
If his mom could maintain a twenty-year-old appearance when she was nearly forty, then it’s perfectly normal for her friends to look the same, right?
At that moment, both Li Na and Lilith’s faces darkened.
“Call us ‘Sisters!’”
Even if they were three hundred years old, they would never admit to being called “Aunt!”
