Chapter 125: So, the Wind God is This Kind of Person
Let’s rewind the clock a bit.
Yuliya had just snagged her entire set of equipment and skills, feeling stronger than she ever had outside of activity dungeons.
She was feeling particularly inflated, practically strutting around like she owned the place.
With a flick of her Golden Eyes, she scanned her surroundings. Empty.
Alright, time to explore!
According to the activity guidelines, every area had an exploration level. The higher the exploration, the more points she earned on the leaderboard, which meant juicy rewards at the end.
So, how does one achieve 100% exploration?
Simple: plow through everything!
She glanced at the map. This area was called the Wandering Plains, a mid-tier exploration hotspot, and surprise, surprise – the exploration level was still at 0%.
Let’s get started!
“Plow through” might’ve sounded intense, but it really just meant checking every inch of land and giving the space a good thwack.
After all, she had no clue what counted as exploring: picking stuff up? Killing monsters? Or just wandering around?
Suddenly, rhythmic drumbeats echoed across the plains.
Thud—! Thud—! Thud—!
Now, here’s a question for you: Why on Earth is this area called the Wandering Plains?
Naturally, it’s because there’s something wandering around!
And these things? Silent as the grave and not even disturbing the space around them.
Out of nowhere, Yuxiaofeng, who was deeply engrossed in her exploration, felt a chill creeping up her spine.
She looked around, but there was no wind. Weird…
She slowly turned her head.
And there they were – two eerie blue eyes staring right back at her.
“…”
And then the scene from a horror movie unfolded.
“Ahh! There’s a ghost!!!”
Yuliya flailed her arms, trying to swat the spooky stuff away.
-9999
-9999
Was that a number? Didn’t matter. She quickly retreated and activated her magic, effectively blinking away like a pro.
Thus began Yuliya’s rapid escape, a mix of running and blinking, accompanied by her terrified screams about ghosts.
Before she knew it, she was far away from the plains.
Once she stopped, gasping for breath, she exclaimed, “I nearly died! What on earth was that?!”
Ghosts and all that spooky stuff? Way too terrifying!
What was worse was how they approached without a sound—her go-to spatial awareness was rendered useless!
Without that trusty backup, Yuliya felt extremely on edge.
Even if she calmed down now, thinking she could easily handle those ghosts, returning to face them was the last thing on her mind.
Who would willingly walk back into the fire?
Meanwhile, this whole drama had left the live room commentary team and viewers utterly baffled:
“I feel like I saw something creepy, but there’s too much weirdness! I’m at a loss for words. Anyone wanna step in as my spokesperson?”
“I’m just as clueless. Give me a second to process.”
“The official livestream’s special commentary channel is focusing on the Wind God; let’s see what they have to say.”
As for the commentary team, the three on stage fell silent.
This wasn’t how they pictured it; the discrepancy was tremendous.
But thankfully, Xixi, the professional commentator, snapped back into focus first.
“What a unique scene! This will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on everyone present.”
“Ha, true that.”
“I think the Wind God’s image just became more mysterious. Who would’ve guessed he’s such a delicate player?”
Little Moon had her unique spin, “His reaction seems a bit girly, and his voice too.”
“Uh… are you implying something, Little Moon?” The host, Ai Kun, kept the conversation flowing.
“Well, that’s not our place to judge. Boys or girls, it doesn’t matter. His image is certainly surprising, but we should focus on his performance. Did I just see him punch those two ghosts into oblivion?”
The director aptly showed a slow-motion replay, clearly illustrating him indeed knocking both ghosts out cold. The remaining two could only stare in shock as he dashed away.
Little Moon pointed out, “Usually, ghostly creatures are immune to physical attacks, but we saw two white numbers, meaning actual damage was done.”
Ai Kun remarked, “No wonder he’s the Wind God; he comes out swinging with such powerful skills.”
Wang Xixi added, “Yeah, he also used spatial magic while retreating! His gear looks fantastic too! True to his reputation, that level of growth is just top-notch!”
At that moment, the director switched to a viewpoint of other players, who were still stuck in ragged gear, their skills unclear.
Ai Kun claimed, “That just goes to show focusing on the Wind God was a smart choice; we can’t wait to see what he does next.”
Meanwhile, Yuliya continued her trek after leaving the Wandering Plains, keeping an eye on the map, noting she’d now entered the Bone Forest territory.
Makes sense, lots of bones everywhere!
With her eyes sparkling, she noticed many bones exposed on the ground, with even more hiding beneath.
If you asked her if she felt anxious, she’d confidently say not at all.
What’s there to fear about seeing and touching things like this?
Bones? Other than being inedible, what’s the difference from a rib rack?
Without a second thought, she marched forward, treating the surrounding bones like mere decoration.
Having just learned that defeating monsters boosts exploration levels, this area being a small exploration point meant it had to be cleared!
And the quickest way to clean house? Bring out the whole gang at once.
As the area grew lively with rustling sounds, a troop of skeletons began to rise, one after another.
But Yuliya ignored them, pressing on. Those skeletons couldn’t keep up with her speed, trailing behind until they formed a long conga line.
This tactic was aptly named the Train King. And guess who was at the front?
Once she covered the entire region, Yuliya turned to see what was behind her.
【Name: Skeleton Soldier
Level: 25 (Silver Mid-tier)
Health: 5000/5000】
At a glance, there were hundreds of them.
But here’s the silver lining: they were all lined up like neat little soldiers.
With a mischievous grin, Yuliya cackled, “Now this is a fine target!”
Raising her right hand, she summoned a swirling, shimmering energy that slowly took the shape of a long spear.
She held it delicately and prepared to throw.
“This strike will pierce the stars! The invincible explosive d*ath spear, Gungnir!”
With her declaration, she hurled the spear forward.
What looked like an invisible strike made contact with the first skeleton soldier, sending them—and a hefty swath of their buddies—flying backward.
After pushing them nearly a hundred meters, a thunderous explosion erupted, filling the area with debris and shattering the skeleton soldiers into pieces.
In an instant, the once-hundreds were reduced by more than half, with just a few loners left on either side, still far from the blast zone.
Yuliya dusted her hands, quite pleased with the result.
That dramatic line she blurted out? Totally spontaneous, just felt cooler saying it.
In reality, Golden Law only had a handful of basic applications—not nearly as flashy as she made it sound.
